Delicious fried chicken and flavorful boat noodles made for a satisfying meal. The restaurant has an almost self-service concept--you place your order at the counter, and the staff bring the food to your table. The service is friendly and efficient, and the casual canteen-style atmosphere makes it a comfortable spot for a quick, tasty meal.

Good spot with different Thai options. You order up front and they bring the food to you. We came here for a light snack and the food came out fast. I would likely come back to try the other items. There's a good amount of space inside plus an outdoor patio. The meal included a soup. The rice is infused with ginger. Chicken is not overcooked and crispy

Boat noodles and khao man gai combo

This Thai-Chinese restaurant was amazing. My friend got the boat noodles, and I got the khao man gai combo. The combo comes with poached chicken, fried chicken, and rice. The chicken was delicious. They were great with the fermented bean sauce and sweet chili sauce. The portions were generous, although I finished it all. The boat noodles were so tasty as well. We each paid about $20 for our meals. The decor was cute with a nice, casual ambience.

Kway teow gai tod tom yum

This one was kind of a miss for me. I ordered the kway teow gai tod tom yum and it was wayyy too spicy for no real reason. They told me it was a 6/10 spice level, but it felt way beyond that. I have a pretty okay spice tolerance and this was at the point where it just stopped being enjoyable. The dish itself is a noodle soup with fried chicken, but the chicken became soggy within minutes, which was disappointing. Between the overpowering spice and the soggy texture, it was hard to enjoy the rest of the flavors, even though the idea of the dish sounded good. That said, the restaurant itself is definitely a vibe. The interior is nice, modern, and spacious, and service was fast, which I appreciated. Everything came out quickly and the staff was efficient.

Great chicken rice ! Service is always good, prompt and friendly staff. Love this homey and cozy restaurant!

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. My friend and I ordered the roasted chicken dish and the fried chicken dish- plus she got the alcoholic slushie. My roasted chicken dish was good! The rice was cooked perfect, chicken moist, but the true stars were the pickled or fermented cabbage and the soy garlicky dipping sauce! I liked how they cut the chicken onto the plate but gave you the rest of the chicken leg. I do wish that the chicken itself had more flavor- that I could taste some spices or char. But it tasted how I would expect the boiled chicken to taste. The crispy chicken on the other hand was perfection!!! So crunchy and delicious and loved the kind of sweet and sour dipping sauce. Not sure why that plate doesn't come with the cabbage- I think the tangy cabbage would go nice with the fried coating. But both plates also had some fresh cucumber and THE BROTH! I wish they sold this broth by the gallon I bet it would cure any cold or flu. I thought the portions were good and I left full without feeling yucky. The pork belly special looked amazing and I will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!

Solid boat noodle and combo rice. I really wished they could adjust the spicy level of the boat noodle as not everyone can take that spicy level. Other than that, food is good. Service is pretty much self serve other than they bring you the food. Casual place to eat w family and friends. Will be back to try other dishes.

One of the absolute best chicken places in Austin. When you think of chicken, rarely does Thai cuisine come into your mind but this place will change that. I was very intrigued by their menu since it wasn't traditional Thai with curries and noodles but it is oh so much better. I got their Khao Man Gai which is their main attraction. The fried chicken is cooked perfectly and pairs so well with both of their sauces they provide. The spicy chili sauce especially was my favorite for the extra kick it provided. And it was so amazing to wash it down with their chicken broth. We also got their pork dumplings which were out of this world too. The vibe of the place is very casual and the restaurant itself is very spacious with lots of seating which I always appreciate. The staff was also very nice and attentive. Overall, a 10/10 experience and one of my favorite new places in Austin.

Thai tea and green Thai tea

OVERVIEW: Solid spot offering up Thai-Chinese style hainan chicken rice and wontons. Very casual vibe off of Airport Blvd. where you order at the counter, take a table number, and seat yourself. Water is available to self-serve and you can order any additional drinks at the counter. Overall, the food and drinks were good and service was decent. My only minor complaint is that the bench seating along the wall is extremely uncomfortable (low back), and the paint peels off and sticks to your skin/clothing. Not a very good experience sitting there. Other than that, food was tasty and I would revisit (and sit at another table)! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, ample spaces across two side lots. - Reservations? No, this is a very casual eatery. FOOD/DRINK RATINGS: - Thai tea (5/5): Classic and strong while being creamy and flavorful. My favorite is always the green Thai tea, but I enjoy both! - Combo chicken meal (5/5): I like that you can try both the fried and poached. The poached is served at room temp (they do give you the heads up when you order). The sauces were good and the rice was perfectly cooked. Decent portion sizes. - Wontons (4/5): Not pictured. Tasty but nothing out of the ordinary.

Fried chicken and pork belly

Ordered this to go. Meat was still crispy. While both good I preferred the pork belly bc of the spicy sauce. The soup had this red broth that was really tasty and not spicy. Teas are on draft but still good There is a parking lot and indoor/outdoor seating if you dine in

Fried Pork Belly
Sarena T.

The first time I came here I thought the portions were quite small for the price, but it's actually pretty filling. I got the fried pork belly which was good, but it was cut in such thin slices that you couldn't fully enjoy the crunch of the fried part. I still think the Khao Man Gai Tod is probably the best option for rice dishes. Its rice is a special chicken rice and it comes with soup, even though it doesn't mention it on the menu. The menu and actual orders seem to have inconsistencies with which ones come with soup on the side. I love the sauces, although they can be spicy with the jalapeno seeds. There is a lot of seating but be prepared to park on the street, the parking lot is pretty small.

Menu as of 06.07.2025
Angelica L.

Rating: 4.1/5 [dine in] There are two parking lots available, with the one in the front being smaller than the one in the back. The front lot was full so we had to park in the back on a late Saturday afternoon. As soon as you walk in, the interior design gives off a strong sense of being transported to Thailand. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. You place your order at the front, receive a table number, and seat yourself. There's a self-serve water station, along with utensils and napkins, though each table is also already stocked with the essentials. Fried Chicken Skin ($7): I'm not one to order chicken skin but this place does it well. Perfectly fried to a crisp while still maintaining the flavor and richness of the skin. Each piece was a great size--not too small or too large--and full of flavor. It also came with their housemade sweet chili sauce, though I didn't think it added much. It didn't pair particularly well with either the chicken skin or the Khao Man Gai. Khao Man Gai Combo ($18): This combo included both poached and fried chicken, served with subtly fragrant chicken fat rice and two sauces: a fermented bean ginger chili sauce and a sweet chili sauce. The poached chicken was decent, but neither sauce really complemented it well. Personally, I prefer the Vietnamese-style Hainan chicken over this version. The fried chicken was just okay; we've had better at other Thai restaurants. Ba Me Moo Dang ($17): Thin egg noodles tossed in Thai-Chinese seasoning, topped with BBQ pork, bok choy, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, green onion, and cilantro, with a side of CK broth. This was flavorful and well-prepared, but the sauce leaned a bit too heavy on the umami for our liking. We actually ended up using it as a dipping sauce for our chicken. The BBQ pork, however, was excellent--tender, flavorful, and well-seasoned. I'm not sure if the CK broth and the one served with the Khao Man Gai combo were the same. They looked different: one was clear with cilantro, while the other appeared more cloudy and slightly grainy. Overall, the food was flavorful enough on its own, that we didn't really need the additional sauces. We ended up so much leftover that we brought home four sauce containers. Soy Nam Jim ($1): This sauce isn't spicy on its own, but the green chilies add a fun kick of heat. Definitely enjoyable. Nam Jim Jaew ($1): Bold and spicy, thanks to the generous amount of dried chili flakes. If you like heat, this one delivers.

Boat noodles and khao moo dang
Cindy N.

You order at the counter, get a number and seat yourself. The staff is friendly enough however I had a really odd interaction. I asked for a lime or lemon since I got the boat noodles which are 5/5 spicy. She told me they didn't have any. She said sometimes they only have them for special drinks and slushees. I thought that was odd considering lime is a staple in Thai cuisine but figured the owners just didn't want to deal with fruit maybe going bad. After ordering, we sat down and I noticed another customer sit down with a Topo Chico and LIME. So the cashier just straight up lied which left a bad taste in my mouth and we had just tipped at the counter. I've had their khao mun gai, khao moo dang, and boat noodles. I think their khao mun gai is average, it's not something I would order again but unfortunately the only place in Austin I've found that makes it so far and sometimes I really crave the dish, but not from here if that makes sense. The khao moo dang came with a good portion of meat. It's not spicy at all which was welcome alongside the boat noodles. They fill up the boat noodles bowl with a bunch of veggies and other ingredients. It's again, very spicy, and I would not order it unless you handle spice well. But if you can, it's got a really nice flavor profile. This is the only dish I'd get again.

I came here on a word-of-mouth recommendation, and I was intrigued before I even sat down. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a beautifully designed waiting area showcasing the restaurant's many awards and accolades. It immediately sets the tone that you're in for something special. We came with one goal: try as many things as possible. Saturdays are perfect for that because they offer dim sum. We started with the Pho Xiao Long Bao (Wagyu beef soup dumplings) and the Korean pancakes. The soup dumplings completely stole the show. Perfectly cooked, delicate wrappers, rich and flavorful broth, and with just a touch of chili oil...absolute perfection. I've had soup dumplings in many places, and these are hands down the best I've ever had. I say that with my whole chest. The Korean pancakes were also outstanding. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, with that perfect balance of savory and just a hint of sweetness. Every bite had great texture and flavor. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Banana Salmon. It was spectacular. It's one of those dishes that makes you question whether you've ever really had good curry before. The spice wasn't about heat, it was about depth, warmth, and layers of beautifully balanced flavor. I ordered the Crab&Shrimp Tom Yum Coconut Fried Rice, and this dish deserves its own paragraph. The presentation alone is stunning. The fried rice is served inside a fresh coconut, surrounded by banana leaves and topped with a beautiful orchid. But thankfully, it tastes every bit as incredible as it looks. The coconut adds a delicate sweetness without overpowering the dish. The crab was plentiful, sweet, and incredibly fresh, while the shrimp were perfectly cooked, not a second overdone. Dishes like this require impeccable timing because every ingredient cooks differently, and somehow every single component was flawless. It was one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever eaten. The service was equally impressive. Everyone was warm, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations based on their most popular dishes. They even told us about their live music nights, which immediately gave us another reason to come back. The table next to us was having Pho and needed with the mango sticky rice and I am coming back for that. Overall, 1618 Asian Fusion delivered on every level, beautiful atmosphere, exceptional food, and genuinely welcoming service. It's one of those restaurants that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even paid the bill. Highly recommend!

Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. There were so many new dishes that caught my eye, but I immediately gravitated toward the Creamy Crab Curry and it was absolutely the right choice.
