This review is long overdue and I am finally ripping myself away from "life" to write this as yet ANOTHER wedding anniversary is racing around the corner. We wouldn't be married if it weren't for Mel and thank goodness for her. She made THE cutest freaking wedding invitations for us, that totally embodied US as a couple and set the tone for the rest of the wedding. She's done so many weddings and was so familiar with the Andaz where we held ours that we felt very confident in her coordination ability, including making sure the cake was put back in the fridge and made it to our car the next day. Mel was our day of wedding coordinator and designed/printed all our stationary (save the dates, wedding invitations, programs, place cards...) for our wedding. She was amazing! She made our wedding the best day ever! So easy to work with, super nice and sweet. She was very responsive with emails, which was what I looked for with all our wedding vendors. I'm not so crafty or creative, so I needed help with that. Mel made everything look beautiful from the stationary, to the ballroom... and our reception program ran smoothly. I did not worry about a thing on the day of our wedding. I highly recommend her for wedding planning/coordinating and invitations. Melanie is the BEST. She deserves 10 stars. Out of all the vendors we hired for our wedding, Melanie was the best decision we've ever made. (I hired her as a day of coordinator, but she was working for me about a month before. She was a great supporter.) She is very organized, very polite to everyone, and always smiling. She is on top of everything, and she knows what she is doing. I wish I could find better words to describe how awesome she was. On the day of, she paid attention to all the details.She came up to me every 10 to 15 minutes if I needed to drink/eat something. She told me what was going to happen next, and omg, she just went extra miles to make my dream wedding happen. And trust me, I was a needy bride. My standard was high. I hate cheap looking wedding. Melanie understood my vision, and she did an amazing job. I try to find any negative things about her ... I can't find it!! Before I hired her, I interviewed 4 other coordinators. But none of them had the same uplifting attitude/warm personality/detail oriented/ and humble attitude to serve a bride as Melanie does. One was kind of jaded, one had NO professional experience (but she called her self professional...?), and two were too pushy. Melanie was just a nice warm person who was always smiling and welcoming. After all, you want to hire a someone you feel comfortable with, right? And since a coordinator will deal with your families and friends all day, you want to hire someone who has just genuine and classy personality. Well, at least that's what I was looking for. Melanie was kind to my nephews/parens who are from Japan and speak no English as well. Hiring a day of coordinator might seem low priority to some of you. And yes it is not cheap. But all my friends got married without a coordinator told me that I needed one. And I am so glad I hired. I wish I could have written a four star review like all the ones I read for Something Blue, but that was not our experience. We were truly happy with all our other vendors and kept hoping Something Blue would call or write and see how everything went since she left 2 hours early, but almost a year later we have not heard a peep from Something Blue. We thought long and hard about whether I should post the review or not, but it is not to be mean it is just the truth of our experience. The consultation went great. So much was covered and she was recommended by our venue site as a Wedding Planner for the Day of. All the reviews and recommendations helped us decide that we should go with the Day Of package . Our Day Of package was supposed to include 6 hours of her time and she said she always has an assistant with her so we would actually have two people there. The time and attention we received on the Day Of was quite different. She came one hour before the wedding started and no assistant every came. Then she only stayed for a total of 4 hours. Her late arrival showed when all the guests did not receive favors. When there was an issue trying to locate items that we had to return to certain vendors Something Blue was long gone. So we had to handle it on our own on the wedding day and several days to follow. After the wedding when all the other vendors called or set us congratulations notes, emails, or calls we still have not received a single acknowledgement from Something Blue. So if you are considering hiring Something Blue as your Day Of Coordinator, think long and hard. Make sure you have ever little detail spelled out in the contract. Also be prepared to never to hear from Something Blue at the end of your wedding or after. You will be on your own. read more

She was extremely responsive and developed a look that was exactly on point with our wedding day "theme" - she was able to capture the classy and simultaneous fun look we were going for.
