The young man was polite and help explain to my son how to work the go karts. The "mini karts" go at a different speed which put me at easy, and my wife and I were so happy seeing our son driving on his own. The arcade was great, lots of fun games. We got a ninja warrior package and it's really nice but my son didn't care for it. The mini bowling was great for all ages, and there's ax throwing! We had so much fun at Brevard Zoo!…read more We were visiting Melbourne last Monday and decided to visit Brevard Zoo for our 4 year old son. We bought tickets through Groupon for about $30 dollars per person that came with a train ride and feeding the birds and giraffe, which was a really good deal in my opinion. The staff are friendly and very informative. When we got there, we were encouraged to go straight to the giraffe exhibit first while they're awake. Our son had so much fun feeding Sprinkle the giraffe. There was someone there even taking pictures which was a cool souvenir to purchase and take home for memories. Each pathway takes you through different animal exhibits to explore. Some of the bigger exhibits had zoo experts or staff nearby to answer questions and help us to get closer to see some of the beautiful animals. Our son really enjoyed the train ride and feeding the giraffe. He was a little scared at first about feeding the birds at the two aviary exhibits but he enjoyed it for the most part. The zoo is clean and well-maintained. The zoo isn't too big so expect to spend a few hours exploring each exhibit. It was perfect for us since it was a great way to roam around before checking into our hotel later that day. Overall, we had a great time! Seeing our son have so much fun wandering the zoo made everything all worth it. We will be sure to come back the next time we visit Melbourne.

Pretty sure he like the puppet giraffe more than the real giraffes, but hey, he was entertained. Speaking of giraffes... they have a giraffe encounter where you can actually purchase the food and hand feed them. They come right up to you and it's such a cool experience. We happened to visit during Bear Week, so there were some extra black bear demonstrations, kids crafts, and bear themed activities happening throughout the day. Some other animals we saw that day were bobcat, jaguar, lions, flamingos, wild turkey, ostriches, rhino, kangaroos, meerkats, otters, antelopes, boar, snakes, and many more. I did not realize before visiting that they have an entire water play/splash pad areas for the kids and it's such a perfect way to cool down when it's so hot outside. I wish I had packed my son's bathing suit and a towel, but now I know for next time. We'll definitely go back as my son gets older! We were there for about 3 hours and it was enough time to stroll through all the exhibits and have lunch. You could definitely stay longer if you choose to participate in some other activities like the Treetop Trek ropes course, train ride, kayaking, or the different animal encounters which are an added fee.

We spent a lot of the time in the aquarium room (and yes it's a room not a super huge space) since it was air conditioned and our daughter really enjoys seeing the fish. They have a touch tank that's open for a few hours throughout the day, but we noticed that if the tank isn't open, there was no staff in the space. The facilities seemed a bit older but overall well maintained. There were summer camps going on while we were there, and felt like they sort of overtook some of the spaces we were in from time to time. Not a super huge deal as we were able to go explore other parts but it did feel somewhat chaotic as a large group of 8 year olds ran into the area. You do have to pay admission, there is a pass available as well if you plan to visit more than once. Parking was not plentiful so be mindful when planing, to come early or during a more "off" time. Overall this was a neat place to go to if you enjoy learning about Florida wildlife and nature.

This place is one of those hidden little Treasure Coast gems that almost hides in plain sight. The boardwalk trails through the mangroves were peaceful, scenic, and surprisingly immersive. Every turn felt like a mini nature documentary. Within a short walk I spotted a ribbon snake cruising through the water, an orb-weaver spider that looked like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie, and plenty of birds and wildlife along the way. Bring a camera because you'll use it. Bonus points for the rare opportunity to admire a spider web without immediately walking face first into it. The grounds are well maintained, educational without feeling overly touristy, and just plain relaxing. There's a nice balance between nature preserve, learning experience, and quiet escape from the everyday rush. Also appreciated that you can spend 30 minutes here or easily lose a couple of hours wandering the trails and slowing your brain down a notch. We didn't try the kayak rental this time but made a mental note for the future. If you live in or visit Vero Beach and enjoy nature, photography, kayaking, wildlife, or just finding peaceful spots that don't involve crowds and traffic, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

The ball pit looks nice on the outside, but when I jumped in with my son you can clearly see something that looks like black mold on half of the balls. If it isn't mold then I don't know but that's what it looks like to. While I was in the ball pit you just can smell, and literally feel how dirty it is. They didn't have many arcade games, and about half didn't work. Also there were lots of areas they were closed off for safety reasons. Also there wasn't really anyone walking around enforcing rules and checking to make sure kids aren't going into any of those closed off areas. I completely understand why they make you sign those waivers. So yeah I won't be returning, but the customer service was great.

The sounds clash between yesterday and today. There are a few phone screens that glow underneath hand-drawn cartoon characters. But that's the charm. Galaxy Skateway doesn't pretend to be something new. It embraces what it is, a time capsule of what life was like. Going to the snack bar, you're greeted with a menu board with plastic blue letters, and you get a discount when you pay with cash. When my daughters walked into the skate rink, one thing that stood out was how many people were just... skating. People weren't on the sidelines looking at screens. All that was there was a DJ and simple skating games like Four Corners and Stoplight. Cliché songs from the 90s like "The Macarena" played as people rolleed past, all under the flashing neon lights. To me, it was a piece of nostalgia for a time long since gone. It doesn't have updated features and the building looks straight out of the 90s, but that's the point. You don't go to Galaxy Skateway to experience the 21st century. You go there to experience what life was like before Steve Jobs walked out on stage with his iPhone.

It's beautiful inside. The colors, aesthetic, layout. The play area is gated off. Everything is baby proofed. Two story play area with climbing, ball pit, low stimulation touch screen game, mini trampolines, and more. There's a small area specifically for infants. I climbed around the entire structure as well. There's at least one worker supervising and cleaning the play area. The cafe is outside of the play area, but very close where you can supervise your child. There are also 4 cameras so you can see your child even if they're inside of or behind a structure. There are 2 large companion restrooms with diaper pails, stairs for toddlers to reach the sink, & most everything is touch free. I really appreciated how clean everything was. We will definitely be back!
