The final result of my nails was nice, but the service could've been better. The nail tech didn't ask me at all if I wanted my nails shorter or longer, or if I was okay with the shape or color. It felt like there was no real effort to check if I was satisfied during the process. I also only got gel polish on my toes, no pedicure, and was charged $35--which seemed off since their full pedicure is listed at $38. I felt a bit overcharged for what I got. read more

I spent about 2 hours to get my nails done and it totally worth it! The friendliness and attentiveness of the owner and staffs impressed me. The nail salon is located in a cool and quiet area, surrounded by pastry and coffee shops. The price is really good and the colors are varied. My nails were done by Vivi. I've been going to my regular nail lady for 8 years. When I need a pedicure or a quick nail fix if my regular person is out of town I will stop by here on my way home from work. Nice quiet salon. I've always had a great experience except this time. I don't like to write negative reviews but I need this addressed. I loved my nails yesterday the nail tech made my nails feel brand new my hands were so refreshed and my cuticles were amazing! Hence the 2 stars. They were a little thick but oh well. Today at work I noticed that my top coat was chipping so I gave them a call and told them I was gonna stop by after work for them to fix it. No problem at all. I got there and the tech started buffing my nails. Then she added a new top coat and more chrome. You could tell the difference from where the previous topcoat and chrome was, I asked her to just remove the polish and I would pay for the removal and redo as they were already thick and if she kept putting polish on top they were going to be thicker. Instead she put another layer of base coat (pink) saying it was going to make it even. Yeah it did but it was so thick! I asked her if she can make it thinner and just buff them out more if she wasn't going to change my color. She buffed them more and added the chrome. As you can see in the photo of my nails in the car, they were so uneven. The corners were so thick! Thankfully I didn't get charged to get them "fixed" Needless to say I am not going to go back a third time, I came home super unhappy, my nails looked like press-on nails. Thankfully I still have my stuff from the when I did my nails during Covid. But when I was filing my nails down to remove the gel myself you can see how thick the layers were on top of yesterday's application. It's ridiculous! 2 hours later I did my nails myself, yeah they aren't the best but at least they don't look like I stuck putty on my nails and they are even. I'm so disappointed, I asked for her to fix them, even offered to pay whatever I needed for them to be redone the right way. Next time, just listen to your customers....especially when they aren't asking you to do it for free. read more

I went in for lashes and the lady completed the whole process within 40 minutes. It was completely rushed and you can tell. The lashes look uneven. She burned both my eyes with the glue throughout the process. Overall, it was bad. I have discomfort on my left eye which looks to be the one with the most glue and was the one which burned the most. The lashes are so clumped together you cannot brush them. read more

This has been my nail salon for the past 7 months and I highly recommend it! I always see Lena, who is now the new owner! She is so kind and so attentive to detail. She always makes sure you have water, the massage chair is on, and your feet stay warm. The prices are very fair, $35 for gel manicure, $35 hour long pedicure with wonderful massage. They do only accept cash or check so come prepared- ATM available in the shopping center. I feel very well cared for here and always have perfect, long lasting gel manicures and pedicures. I've been going to Melissa's Nails for over ten years. I don't think you can get a better pedicure anywhere for any price. So relaxing, and the massage seems to go on forever. Kim does a great job on my fingernails. I have paper thin nails that always crack into the nail bed. Once every 3 or 4 weeks, Kim transforms my nails into something beautiful. Su and the other ladies working in the shop seemed genuinely sweet and kindly; and I felt Su did her best to work carefully and do a good job. She was very gentle about her work. But, over all I was not bowled away by the end result. I asked her to spend extra time removing old layers of base from my toes so they would have a smooth finish. She seemed to not understand, but gave the toes another quick swipe with acetone. It was not enough to remove the old undercoats, so I have horizontal grow out lines in the finish from the uneven base (see pic). I asked for shellac on my nails, which she said was the same as the as the OPI GelColor she used. I am not that familiar with all the nail products at this point; but reading on the OPI website later, I realize GelColor and shellac are not the same thing. Various articles said shellac is easier on your nails. Maybe no biggie, I dunno. As she did not have the color I chose from her palette color sticks, she said she would duplicate the color by using one 1 coat of pink and one coat of a slightly sparkly gold. The mixed color was much more gold than what I wanted. As Su applied the different layers, I noted that a few bubbles were appearing in the last color coat. I really don't like bubbles. She said not to worry, she would fix them. And she did try to file them out and touched up. They did look better, but I could still see the flaws. When I pointed this out to her, things got confusing. In trying to convince me it was a good job, she said two things that strike me as inconsistent: 1) the flaws were caused by rough bumps on the surface of my nails. Well, Su sanded the surface of nails to provide the proper foundation. So, if that is true, then it seems her prep was not done well enough. 2) Su also said, "I guarantee you" any shiny (sparkly) color will bubble. If that's true, why use such a product? Update: 2 weeks later I went to another salon. The manicurist looked at my nails and said, "did you do this yourself at home?" But, look at my pics and judge for yourself. read more

LIFE. SAVER. I came to Melissa's nails by recommendation from a friend and I could not be happier with this choice! When I first came in and was immediately helped by Vanessa (she's the best!) I had grown out overpriced acrylic nails on and I told her I was trying to get back to being able to wear my nails naturally without any tips. She took off my old set and did a great job giving me a dip polish manicure even making my super short stubby nails look good (pictured with the black tips)! After a month my set did not chip or break so I was able to continue using my now long natural nails. Vanessa helped give me the set of my dreams for a concert I was going to, she worked so hard to make sure I was happy with the design after all I did was show her a picture.
