Oh my gooooooooooooood god what is this place. Loved it Randomly was looking for a mani & pedi at 8:45am. Found this place and rushed over. After the Mani & Pedi (pedi lady gave an excellent foot massage... I was alive again) I quickly wanted to finish off with a facial. WOW!!!!!!! That was hands down THE BEST facial I've ever had. Holly was so gentle and then the massage Ahhhhhhhhhh insanity. She put into space with the massage. I'm sure she added some essential oils and they worked so well for me. I'm sure you can tell Holly to do extractions but I do those myself so not needed for me today. I will definitely come back here again. read more

Love Top Coat. I go to Tara, and can't say enough good things about her! I always leave with a perfect gel manicure! And the other Nail Techs are great too - they are always friendly and welcoming and also provide nice and relaxing pedicures. I constantly get compliments on my nails. read more

Went to this place per friend's recommendation but my experience is disappointing. I had spa nail which it says hot stone and paradise massage. Massage was supposed to be 10min but not so because the service person. Was busy to pick up towels and kther thing to bring back and forth. And she forgot to give me stone massage. It was rushed service that the pedi was not even dried and I was ushered out. Sure enough nail got chipped immediately. I may try with a different person again , maybe. But disappointed here. read more

AMAZING. Let me just say I haven't had that good of a pedicure in a VERY long time. 5 minute massage, hot towel, scrub, the works, all for $35. Harley did an impeccable job on my nails. Shaping to color everything was great. She really took her time. These ladies are good people & and a class act. There was an older lady there at the same time as me. They don't know this but my grandma passed away a couple days ago. They treated her exactly as I would want someone to treat my grandma. They were so kind and gracious. Can't say enough great things about my experience here; and I'm a pretty tough critic. read more

I was a walk in! She was so accommodating to do the design. I wanted with the clear V on the bottom so when they grow out you can't tell as much!! She did such a good job, and I absolutely love them! They're the perfect shape and color, it's a gel color that's a dupe for OPI- Mod About You. I'll add an update for how long they last read more

I will not be visiting this business again due to their greedy business practice. They do a decent job, everything was going well with my mani/pedi and I was planning to come back until my nail tech asked her coworker in Vietnamese how much she should charge me. Her coworker replied $40 and $60 and then my nail tech told me $109 in English. Although they are conveniently located, I have no problem driving a little further to save 10%. read more

I've recently become a customer of Jennifer's at the Top Coat Nails & Spa. Jennifer is the owner, and she is not only incredibly talented, she is also incredibly kind to every single person who walks in the door. You instantly feel welcomed and comfortable as you sit at anyone's station! The atmosphere in the shop is happy and warm - and their manicures & pedicures are beautiful and quick! They are still GREAT!!! I had an appointment for a mani/pedi today. They were well-staffed and I was in a massage chair immediately. I felt like it was a full spa service: hot stones, sea salt rub, parafin wax, massage of lower legs and feet, massage of hands and arms, and such beautiful color on my nails. I am so happy I found this salon! I came in wanting a custom design manicure and a broken big toe nail. I was welcomed so kindly! They showed me their new collection of dip that matches their new gel colors. I asked for dip French tip with a flower design and they 100% delivered. Then they fixed my broken toe nail with dip powder! You can't even tell. The service was excellent, on top of the attention to detail. No. Just no. I tried to be fair and came here three times with my friend for pedicures and they have been consistently mediocre, but the last time I was there, the staff/owner were downright shady. General commentary: their nail polish does not last and does not appear like it was applied like a professional. My and my friend's toes last literally two to three days before chipping, each time we have gone. This last time, I got a neon pink, which was translucent when finished with the application. It should not have looked that way and my nails weren't shiny either. The polish STAINED my nails so bad, that they look almost as neon as before my acetone removal. Both techs I have been serviced by were very rough on my cuticle area. She clipped away very aggressively at my skin and I said "ow!" more than once and she ignored me every time and kept going. They also very loudly told my friend she MUST get the upgraded callus removal because her feet were "so bad." If your feet are less than perfect and you are sensitive about it, beware. I won't even tell you what they say in Vietnamese. Shady business: This last time my friend and I were there, we were seated for our pedicures with our nail techs. Mine proceeded to start removing my nail polish without asking me which pedicure I wanted. Her tech started to hand her the services menu, and my tech stopped her, and told her in Vietnamese to just give her the $40 pedicure, and to not ask. We didn't say anything, but when it came time for my massage, my tech tried to tell me I am paying for a 10 min massage. I spoke up and said usually the regular pedicure is 5min, and that I wanted the most basic pedicure. My tech gets flustered and the owner chimes in from the manicure table that she asked me if I wanted a regular pedicure, and ai said yes. I told her that what she asked me was if I wanted a gel polish pedicure or a regular polish pedicure. It turns out, they have sneakily renamed their pedicure packages to Basic, Regular, and maybe Deluxe (?). Either way, they tried to make me pay for the middle-tier pedicure and tried to deceive me into thinking I consented to the "regular" package, which is more expensive than their standard, most basic, regular polish pedicure. The owner tried to talk over me twice but I shut her down. She did not apologize for the confusion at all, nor did she acknowledge me pointing out how her techs did not count on me understanding Vietnamese and noticing their dishonest practices at the beginning of the service. If you are already a regular here, maybe the service is fine. But if you are new, go elsewhere. The staff clearly value profit over business integrity, and maybe even sanitation at this point. read more

This has been my go to spot since this review but in the last 2-3 times I have been I notified a decline in service. They almost always mess up on my nail paint and they don't turn out good. The only person who does a good job is the owner. I wouldn't recommend going here otherwise. read more

Horrible ! Came for a fill left with no top coat 2 of my new nails slanted down curved. I told her I didn't like them she said I should have told her I didn't like my nails curls when all the others were straight. I didn't want gel or color and still total was 65$ that didn't include tip. I'm so disappointed in service and lack of care read more

I so happened to be waiting with my son to get a haircut and the wait was so long that I was able to get a quick manicure and be done just in time for my sons turn came up for him to get a trim. The ladies were so nice and very welcoming when I entered the nail spa. They got straight to business and did an amazing job. Love love love this nail salon! I've gone here three times now for acrylics and a pedicure. Highly recommend! My most recent visit I asked for the spider webs and though she'd never done webs before, she free handed these and they are exactly what I wanted. I ended up breaking a nail one day after getting them done and Jennifer fixed it same day no charge. The experience is always wonderful and they do an amazing job. read more

I called and was able to get a same day appointment. I was seated very quickly, and everyone there was so kind and polite. I had an amazing experience, and my nails turned out fantastic. The environment is very clean and tidy, and the technician who did my nails (I'm super sad that I didn't get her name but she wears glasses and had on an i nails apron) is SO talented and detailed and will make your nails look absolutely stunning. Ive been here 4 times. 3 of 4 were not good. The regular polish was put on too thick on toes and smudged first day and then their gel came off my hands on day 1. their prices are little higher than other upscale salons and dont they border the San Jose area? They push for Zelle or venmo payments....hmm? when I ask questions about fees or colors they ignored me or were rude. they seem like they get irritated, really??? who is the customer. wont go back. There are many other better salons. read more

I have been here several times. I really wanted to like here as it's very convenient( short distance) for me. I have to say they do a mediocre job on the nails. Couple of times the staff were rough on my cubicles. It hurt so much after they put alcohol on it. Once the staff applied the nail polish very thick and the layers didn't match. Also, their regular nail polish doesn't last at all. I can't believe they charged me $25 for just removing my gel manicure and pedicure. My manicure was very out grown(less than 1/3 remaining) and it was completed gone on 3-4 nails. The pro at this place is that they are not busy. You can walk in to get your nails done. That's the reason why I went there several times. I would definitely not go there to remove my manicure/pedicure anymore. read more

The best nail salon I have ever been to! I have been getting my mani/ pedi here at least every other week for months now and I have no plans to stop. Everyone is very nice and accommodating and everything is clearly clean and well taken care of. I always get a gel mani and pedi. First time in. Friendly staff, went in without an appointment and they helped me with no problem. They suggested I try dip powder instead of classic acrylic powder, but the lady who did mine didn't seem all that comfortable with it. Nails came out kind of bumpy and thick. I also asked for ballerina shape but she seemed to only know rounded square. However, their prices are much more reasonable than my usual spots. I'll probably go back and see if my experience is different with classic acrylic powder. read more

These gals are fast, friendly and affordable! They do such a nice job and my gel seems to last longer than other places I've been. They also don't make the gel too thick, I hate when I can't scratch myself! I come here when I drop my kid off at preschool and am done with plenty of time to spare. read more

I am so pleased with Top Coat! I walk by here a lot since it is very close to work, and I finally called to see availability. They told me to come in, and I had my eyebrows waxed and a gel manicure. I have a brow piercing and usually people are nervous about waxing around it. I reassured the cosmetologist that it was fine. She was great! I have never had someone who did such a thorough job - not one hair left out of place. She trimmed it at well, and I was quite happy with the result. For my manicure. I was looking for a dark purple. I chose one color from the swatch, and she put it on my nails after prepping, trimming, and cleaning them. It was very pretty, but then she added a top coat of an even deeper purple that was AMAZING... it was like she read my mind about what I had really wanted. It now is this gorgeous eggplant color, and my nails are all evenly shaped and look wonderful. I have definitely found my go-to place for eyebrows and nails! read more

I came in for a pedicure and was unable to properly see my toenails during much of the service because one technician was working on my feet while another was doing my fingernails. Between the UV light and the large pillow in my lap, I could not clearly see what was being done to my toenails. The technician cut the sides of multiple toenails without asking my preference and changed the shape of my nails from straight to rounded. As a result, nearly every toenail ended up a different shape, including a noticeably lopsided big toe. The polish was also not applied evenly near the cuticle area. What was most disappointing was the response when I brought up my concerns. Instead of apologizing or attempting to correct the issues, I was met with a rude and defensive attitude and told that I should have said something sooner. It's unreasonable to blame a customer for not noticing mistakes when they cannot clearly see the work being performed and the technician never checks in about nail shape or trimming preferences. A professional nail salon should communicate with clients, confirm preferences before making permanent changes, and handle concerns respectfully. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below that standard.

Yara, the owner, was incredibly kind and was full of empathy which we don't find anywhere these days. Instead of turning me away, she personally took care of me and did both my nails and pedicure. Her kindness meant more to me than she probably realized in that moment. And on top of that, she did an absolutely amazing job, I love my nails! The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and relaxing, with refreshments and snacks that make you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in. It's also conveniently located in the Cambrian/Los Gatos area. Thank you, Yara, for being so gracious and accommodating. Sometimes a little kindness goes such a long way. The nail tech was unfriendly and extremely rough with my cuticles. At one point when she burned me with the e-file, I pulled away and she told me "I'm too sensitive" instead of apologizing for being too aggressive. She even asked the receptionist in Russian to bring her a different e-file because according to my nail technician, I'm too sensitive. With so many other better Russian manicure salons in the Bay Area, this place is a hard no for me. Not only are the nail technicians rude, but the polish itself begins to lift after 2 weeks. Yarco should change their name to Yar-NO.

I have been looking for a great nail place and I finally found one! The location is great and the spa itself is cute, welcoming and very clean, which is very important to me. Also it's female owned and everyone there is extremely nice and professional. The work they do is excellent and my nails look beautiful every time, and they have gray colors. I have been coming to Jennifer for my nails for close to 6 years now and she is truly the only person I trust. I'm never disappointed with her work and her attention to detail is unmatched. I had an awful experience at this nail salon. The trim was poorly done, and the technician even forgot to apply the top coat on one of my hands. On top of that, the powder layer was extremely thick and the polish application looked messy and unprofessional. Overall, very disappointing--I won't be coming back. read more

It's usually only three ladies working, but Helen is usually on time with her appts. Dip powder usually lasts 5-6 weeks on my nails, so I'll be back. And the gel pedicure - 8 weeks at least! I'm not the type to get my nails done regularly, but love them when they're done.

You need to know, though, that this is a no-nonsense, in and out nail place. I get a permanent french that is nice and thin after Helen files them down so I can still cook/clean/do household chores without my nails getting in the way. She shapes my nails exactly as I like them, and files them down to the exact length I like. I've been coming off and on for about 5 years, and she never forgets what I like. Don't expect spa pampering, or extra TLC. If you want a nice job with your gel manicure at a reasonable price ($20 after tip for a fill!), this is the place to go!
