Decided to try a gel manicure at this nail salon because it's super close to where I live, and I really regret it. I feel the exact opposite of "happiness" after my experience. Woman who did my nails, don't know her name, was way too aggressive with the cuticle trimming. I had noticed that she seemed to be peeling off quite a lot of skin and that she was spending a lot of time on each finger, but I didn't say anything since I trusted that she was a professional and knew when to stop. What a mistake. My right thumb felt off, and I didn't realize until later in the day why--she clearly pulled off WAY too much skin. I am missing the top layer of skin, ALIVE skin, not dead skin, on the right side of my right thumb. Are you kidding me???? Now it hurts to wash my hands and so much skin has been removed that it getting wet is exacerbating the wound. Look at the photo I took of my thumb. She also cut my nails WAY too short. My nails were already short to begin with and then she filed them down so much she reached the tip of my fingers. For no reason. I really should have said something while she was doing it. Should absolutely NOT have trusted her to know what she was doing. I'm so mad, and I can't believe I tipped. I paid so much to get a gel manicure that resulted in trauma to a finger I constantly need to get wet as a mom of a baby and a toddler, and each time it gets worse. And I don't even like how the nails look. SKIP this place. Spare yourself. I wish I had been able to take that advice from someone else. I just pray my finger doesn't take too long to heal and get too much worse because it's really painful already. read more

I walked in asking for simple and easy fill French tip nails. This is what I got... I asked for a fill for my outgrown 4 week nails and she absolutely butchered my nails. I don't know what this is. There is lint on my nails and paint underneath. It looks very bad. She said she didn't have the same acrylic powder to match the base so she painted over the powder. If she couldn't do it, she should've said it instead of wasting my time and money. She knew I didn't like it and gave me a $5 discount but I still tipped her for the service, even though it was a bad job. read more

I went in a couple of times in the past few months and it was very quiet with only a few people working and no problem walking in to get a pedicure. The service was quick and a good job was done. However, I went in last weekend and there 3 people working on Saturday and I was told to come back as everyone was busy. I went back on Sunday and there were 2 people working and again was told to come back and that I should have left my phone number so they could call me when they were available on Saturday. First time going to this place for just removing acrylic powder on my nails and this lady I don't know her name, first she had me on full bowl of acetone and told me to put my nails in there for quite some time which made my fingers so dry and itchy and another lady came to remove the polish and she burned couple spots on my fingers. Everything time she was working with the hand piece, she asked me if I was ok and it hurtled a few times and she would tell me your fingers are very thin and why did you have acrylic powder instead of the gel. I have never been so angry after going to a nail salon. We got two young girls who obviously are interns or have not been working here for long. They were both so careless and from the start were doing a horrible job. They sprayed me and my mom with water with no apology. I got a gel pedicure nothing crazy and she did a HORRIBLE job. I have gel outside my toes and just looks so sloppy. Like why even pay so much money to even get a pedicure when it looks the same as if I did it myself at home. I never even get my nails done so having this happen reassured me on why it's such a rip off. Do better and at least act like you care about your job. When I drove past this salon and saw all the precautions they had and I had heard from a neighbor that she had been going to them for many years, I thought I would give them a try. So glad I did! I came earlier today to get an acrylic nail removal. I asked the price over text ( since they reject the call and ask that you text them.) They told me $15. Sounds great! I came in and they took me right on time, great! That rarely happens in nail shops so I was very optimistic with my first time being here. As my manicurist begin working she was trying to pull my nails off with another acrylic nail so i had to request for her to soak them off, which she seemed annoyed by.... then she began to file after soaking but I can tell she's very careless with the electric nail file, she had it on high speed and was burning my nails and I told her it hurt and i pulled my hand away and she told me she is being gentle and laughed. Thankfully her coworker came over and tossed her another drill head that she switch to and was more gentle. ‍ she still burned me a few times during the process and begin saying how thin my nails were more then a few times....I get that my nails will be thin after acrylic removal but she doesn't need to continue making comments especially since she was going crazy with that electic file which caused dips in my nails and now my nails are painful. wrapping up my service since my nails were so thin after filing she offered to apply a clear top coat and gave a me quick arm massage. Once it came time to paying my total was now $30! I asked why and they said I got a manicure since she "cut my cuticles" and applied clear polish. I'm sorry but look at this picture, I clearly have cuticles and I did not request the clear polish....it was offered. Now it's about 5 hours later and my polish is chipping and my fingers hurt very bad. Be cautious of this place to get your acrylics removed. Not all nail techs are the same but I was very unhappy with my upcharge for services that I didn't request and how painful my fingers are now don't get me wrong, 30 for a manicure is great but look what I left with read more

Hi guys! I was a worker there & i just recently quit due to how unsanitary everything is. The tools they use on you guys: never clean. They do NOT follow any sanitizing rules. They don't have barbicide to clean , their sterilizer is just a UV Lamp. The files they use & metal implements they hardly ever wash. They never clean anything in between. The pedicure bowls you guys get your feet done in : they don't wipe it down , they just keep using different plastic wrap on them. For the workers , we don't get a lunch. and if we do we barley eat or we just work consistently for a 9:30am-7pm shift. I'm just warning you guys on how they don't really care for their clients w/ cleanliness and all. And it's unfair there. It was so bad i had to call Stateboard for them. AND when i had a bad customer experience , they wouldn't let me work. and because i asked for so many updates : the owner asked me if i can come in to work in a disguise instead of fixing the situation . which is INSANE. read more

While there have been personnel changes over the years, everyone has always been friendly and courteous. The spa is located amongst many fast food chains, restaurants, and of course Lucky's. I was welcomed in and serviced right away. I appreciate that all their tools were sealed and wrapped. It seems like cleanliness is a real issue nowadays so I'm glad I saw this! The nail tech was very friendly and can carry a good conversation. I had a relaxing time there and decided to get a pedicure after. The other nail tech that assisted me wasn't as friendly and sighed every so often. I really tried to give Happiness the benefit of the doubt. Even though my first manicure left much to be desired in terms of quality, my mom and sister's both looked great and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, however, all 3 of our gel manicures lasted just over a week before chipping and peeling. The nail technician had filed my nails so thin on top, that when mine peeled, it took my nails along with it, leaving them paper thin and brittle. When my mom called to make a follow up appointment to get hers redone (despite the lack of quality control), she left two messages and never received a call back. I came here for the first time to get a mani & pedi. Beware! - They keep trying to push you to upgrade. I normally spend about $45 for a mani & pedi somewhere else. I ended up spending $85. I got the paraffin hand and feet treatment, but I don't think that was worth an extra $40. read more

I have had it with this place, they are too inconsistant. Sometimes it great and others, like today was horrible. I came in for a pedicure like I always do and got some rude lady. She gave me cold water, hurt my foot by pulling and tugging, ( instead of using words to tell me what she wanted). She later burned me scorching hot water and almost made my nail bleed. Then became really pushy with the extended services $$$$ even when I told her NO the first 3 times she asked. I am over it. It's not worth it for $25 bucks, waste of money. Came here yesterday to get my nails done, and was helped by Rose. She was the sweetest! Made me feel welcomed and the whole staff was pretty friendly as well. Everything looked cleaned and sanitized and very covid friendly which made me feel safe, since this is my first manicure since Covid started and girrrrrllllllll let me tell you I needed a manicure badly haha! I'm always happy with Happiness. I go here by myself or with my mom and/or friends about every three weeks or so. They tend to remember us, which is nice and it is so relaxing. Since my initial review, they have changed the menu a bit. There are now 4 different options for a pedicure. If I want to splurge, I'll go for the #1 as it comes with an extra 10 minute or so massage of my arms and legs. So relaxing! They work their butts off and never seem to get a day off. There are a couple guys that work there too and they are just as good at the pedis as the women. Thank you Happiness! *Don't be deceived by the ATM machine inside, they do take credit cards.
