Great service.. came in for 3 pedis and the team did a great job. I called them earlier in the day to reserve 3 spots and the staff accomodated us nicely. We were the only ones there. they have free tea service and the visuals on the TV of Bora Bora were certainly soothing making it a very soothing experience. It was a bit pricey relative to other places but I think I really enjoyed that they don't rush you and let you enjoy the experience. My toe got a bit smudged while wearing footwear so they reapplied the nail paint on that and put on extra fans for me. My moms enjoyed the experience too. I got a gel pedicure with a gel removal and my boyfriend got a classic pedicure. We both really enjoyed the service. Me not being from the area and living about 30 minutes away I wasn't sure where to take our niece when she told me she wanted to get her nails done for her birthday. So I picked her up and hopped on Yelp and after seeing some great choices this nail lounge stood out because their health guidelines and certification being highlighted on their page. I was rather impressed with that. Also the fact that when we entered the salon it smelt of cleaning product ( awesome by the way ) and was also visibly spotless. Especially the day and age were in and especially for something as personal as getting your nails done the cleanliness factor is extremely appreciated. Came here on a Thursday morning and it was not crowded. I've been to MANY nail salons around town and I enjoyed this one for the following reasons. 1. Offered complimentary beverages 2. Clean and a great selection of colors 3. Many clean massage chairs to accommodate a larger group or many customers 4. Whimsical Christmas music and music video in the background 5. I had no idea that this place is located in the same plaza as CVS. I've been sketched out by the parking lot before, but it was all good. As soon as I walked in, I could smell the fumes of the nail polish and other chemicals (yes, even with my mask). I know it's hard to find a place that doesn't have a strong smell, but have been able to find a couple in the past. The nail techs here are friendly and ask if something hurts or if something is okay/to our liking, which I appreciate! I had Rose and Lily work on my gel manicure and pedicure. Another nail technician was very honest with me about the way in which they remove gel v dip, and I really appreciated that honesty. Rose did an amazing job with the pedicure massage - 5 minutes flew by! This is day 1 of the gel, so I'm hoping both last a while. Prices are pretty steep, but also comparable to some other places in the area. I would be back due to the friendly service and honesty that I've seen here. **** edit/update: So, my nails actually chipped like a couple of days after (two of them). My schedule was too busy/hectic to come by, until Sunday, and of course they aren't open on Sunday. The ladies there were really nice but the nail tech didn't seem to know how to ombré the shiny nail polish onto the dip powder she did, and the nails themselves were really really lopsided and chunky & weren't pointed like the photo I showed. It wasn't busy at all besides me and one other person and I had showed the picture so it just made me really sad coming out. Second pic is what I got after the nail lady wasn't able to do the ombré and it was still lopsided. I was really sad how they came out for $70 :(. I had asked her to fix it a little but she didn't do much to make them more slim/pointy/even. I haven't had much luck with good nail salons until I visited QTie over the weekend - twice! Thanks to Yelp reviews. The first time here was with my husband and we both got a pedicure. What I like about this salon is that they don't force you to upgrade unless there is a deal - I really like that! The nail techs are friendly, calm, and nice. They have attention to detail and when my nail tech painted my first nail coat she asked me first if I like it. The next day I came alone to do my manicure. I asked for a design which was difficult for my tech to do but another tech came in and help her out - not too bad but they can definitely improve on the design since it was challenging for them to draw a star. The design looks good though! Other than that, my nails look AMAZING and they clean your hand throughly after too. My normal nail salon was booked, so we came here. The prices are significantly higher than where I usually go in Almaden. A gel mani/pedi is $82 before cash discount at my normal place. Here, I paid $175 (after cash discount) for two gel manis, 1 gel pedi, one regular pedi for myself and my 10 year old (would have been $164 for all gel at my normal place). I have never had a more painful/hot gel removal on my fingers. The skin and cuticles on the sides of my nails were aggressively filed in the attempt to get gel off, and I am pretty sure that my natural nail is now damaged. The manicure was not well done - polish is flooded up to the cuticle line on a few nails, so I already know that as it grows out, it will have raised demarcation that things are likely to get stuck under (like hair when shampoo). There was overpaint on the sides of the a few nails that is peeling off. My pedi is fine. They gave me a total at check out, which I paid and tipped on, then they called afterwards to say they forgot to charge my daughters pedi, which my husband subsequently dropped off payment for. I was given an extra collagen hand wrap for spending over $60 on treatment, my daughter was not. I had assumed she didn't meet the minimum based on what they charged, but with the extra $35, she would have. Photos from about 10-15 mins afterwards. Update: 5 days in, and they are already starting to peel off. read more

I get daily compliments on my nails now!!! I get the dip powder manicure. Almond shape. If your nails aren't long enough for almond they can do a seamless extension but it does cost extra. I love getting chrome (usually #14 or 15) on top. The shiny chrome finish requires UV light at the end. The dip powder alone does not require any UV light. Power mani is effectively like nail armor. They have several pre-tested sample colors with chrome on top. You can ask for any color with chrome on top however they can't guarantee how it will turn out. I've experiment with unknown color choices and never been disappointed though. I usually ask for Lynn. She is great!!! I get regular polish for pedicure. Pedicure packages are very relaxing. Regular Pedi is great too. Another fun thing about the chrome mani is it matches my purse/backpack!!! read more

In response to Nick T., manager at Qtie Nail Lounge: No, I had grown out my nails for 6-7 weeks after getting Gel-X nails and the white marks from damage from the file were on my grown out, healthy nails. On some of my nails in the provided pictures, you can see three uneven levels to my nails: my most grown out nail plate, a raised one, and then a scar and indent from my former Gel-X extensions. You can see the first two layers because Nina did an uneven and lumpy bad job at removal, and the third you can see from the red scar since there IS NO indentation at the site anymore. Ugh! Thanks for trying to tell me about my own nails, but I disagree with you here severely. I pay attention to them and that's why I'm so upset with Nina's fudged-up job. As I stated in my original review, I am aware of the precise extent of damage my Gel-X set did to my nails, and accordingly I know how much damage Nina did to them. I am not trying to be unfair, this is my honest opinion: I disagree with misplacing the blame that is rightfully Nina's and Qtie Nail Lounge should instead be taking responsibility for the damage cause. I know that gel removal is not a "manicure" service and doesn't come with "nail care", I didn't ask for Nina to touch my cuticles or surrounding skin (ironic), but I've had plenty of SAFE gel polish removals and they have always applied cuticle oil on my nails both before and after soaking in acetone or applying gel remover. The technicians at Qtie Nail Lounge don't care about the overall health of your fingers, they would prefer to skimp on the cuticle oil because it costs them money. Is that the message you're trying to send here? As for the confusion with the 3% discount, perhaps you should consider removing the sign on the front desk that advertises a "3% discount" for paying with cash, since you're not actually offering any incentive to pay with cash. While Nina was finishing up with my nails, Judy told her to charge me $12 (in Vietnamese), since Nina didn't know how much it would cost me. Before I had even walked over to the register or pulled out my wallet, I knew that my total was $12. When Nina told me in English that my total was $12, I paid in cash and naturally inquired about the discount, but received no discount. So yes, that's extremely confusing and I don't want to waste any more time thinking about how to justify getting scammed. By the way, why wouldn't you tell a customer at least an estimate of the total cost before beginning to work on their nails? Literal trap. And yes, Nina spent a VERY long time filing and buffing down my nails WAY too much, I was almost late to work. Remember, I came here for a simple gel polish removal. That does not mean she did a quality job, however. I am still suffering from the damage she caused to my nails. read more
