I came to Reno to visit my son who goes to UNR and stayed at the Courtyard across from the stadium which happily is also across from Mellow Fellow and a perfect spot to meet him for dinner. I had their regular burger and substituted the russian dressing for the garlic aioli and it was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had! Our server (SO sorry I didn't catch her name) was so attentive and fast and we had a wonderful experience! I highly recommend Mellow Fellow if you want an amazing burger - can't speak to anything else - and a chill atmosphere in a super convenient location! read more

Walked across the street to check this place out. Saw on Yelp! they had Scotch Egg Burger. Very intrigued, I had to investigate. Okay, they stopped doing the Scotch Egg Burger. Fair enough. On to the next adventure of food here. Asked the dude behind the bar for the best eats. Took his recommendation of the Korean Burger and tossed in my own suggestion of the Caprese Salad (I needed some veggies and cheese). All were good and washed it down with their Murphy's Law Red beer which was pretty good too. Big open place, across from Aces ballpark and I can see this place getting packed when a game is on. I was there on a Wednesday and no game, so it was kinda quiet but still good. I'd go again and check it out. I'll try other options on the menu and write another review. I haven't been here since it was something else before Mellow Fellow....what was it? The environment is somewhat cold and the parking is awkward. We grabbed a table around 5:15 on a Saturday night and the service was attentive for the most part. It was a group of five of us before walking over to the Reno Events Center for a comedy show (Seinfeld). We all had drinks and appetizers. The cauliflower was pretty good and I enjoyed those polenta poppers even though they seemed like a frozen appetizer that was just warmed up, still good. It's your standard pub/sports/party bar so expect a rowdy crowd. All in all, it's a fun spot if you're in the hood. read more

My wife and I come up for a weekend Reno trip. We always try to find at least one new place to eat at. Mellow Fellow did not disappoint. Our server was very friendly and attentive. They have a solid menu with a good draft selection as well as cocktails. My wife and I shared some wings, the standard Mac n cheese and the chicken avocado melt. The wings were hot and tasty, the Mac n cheese was delicious but almost overwhelming with the cheese but the chicken melt was delicious. I'd come back for this anytime. My kids got the burger plate which served up a relatively huge burger. Great food, super clean, nice friendly staff and good beer made this a great experience. read more

I was in town for a week and we ventured over to Mellow Fellow three of the nights. We had a large group and they were very accommodating and service was great despite there only being two servers. Old Mac Donald burger was excellent and you can get it with tots. The fish was also excellent and the fries were really good. Thursday they had a prime rib special and it was amazing. Went to lunch with a friend who has never been, and she loved it. The food is always amazing. I had the pulled pork sandwich with the twisted fries and everything was so good. My friend had the doodle chicken sandwich and she mmmm'd the whole time. Kudos to the chef. The service was prompt and always attentive. I wish I remembered the sweet gal's name who served us. Mellow Fellow is one of my favorite places to grab some beer and some good food. I've never been disappointed with a meal here before nor any beer I've ordered. Brendan and Chelsey are two of the folks who work behind the bar and they are two of the most down-to-Earth people you'll meet. The Mellow Fellow team is small, but wonderful! I recently went in to order some food with my boyfriend. Brendan was quick with a good suggestion of beer for him and I tried a pear cider they had on tap. There are so many options to choose from (speaking of beers on tap), you could honestly spend more than 10 minutes trying to figure out what to have! During this crazy time that is Covid, they do have a reduced menu compared to usual. My only complaint with that was that it was a little hard to read. We ended up getting an appetizer of sweet potato poutine, which was FANTASTIC! The gravy was savory and the sweet potato fries were a yummy twist. My boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich with tater tots and that was delicious (according to him, haha) and I had gnocchi with mushrooms. The gnocchi was a little tough and not as hot as I would've liked but it was still really good; I ate every single bite. The sauce it came in was so rich and delicious, I felt like this dish belonged in a fancy steakhouse. It had such an elevated presence for being 'bar food.' I had wished for was a piece or two of toast to 'mop up' some of the amazing sauce! Mellow Fellow has some BOMB food and even better service. Right now things are tough for so many businesses, but I would implore you to add Mellow Fellow to the list of places to support with in and out of pandemic. What is going on with this place? I have never written a bad review in my life however I feel compelled to do so. The service in the evening is absolutely horrible. I've never seen anything like this in Reno in my entire life. Rude waiter with inappropriate Behavior, language and more importantly, entirely unprofessional. This was my second time here and I am debating whether or not to visit for a third time. While the portions are humongous, even the cup of soup was plentiful, the food could taste better. I picked a cup of lentil soup, because why not? The soup was well seasoned, but the consistency was more of a dip than a soup as there was not enough broth for it to be a soup. Next up were the nachos with carnitas. The carnitas was a $5 upgrade that I could have done without because the meat was barely there and the meat that was actually there, was extremely salty. What a wonderful place. Outside of parking in a garage behind the building not sure where else you can park to enjoy the place. For a Thursday evening, the place had a steady stream of customers. I ordered the Bama chicken sandwich. Outside of the chicken not having the white bbq sauce on it, the sandwich was great. The waitress was surprised not to see the sauce on it. We entered Mellow Fellow early on a busy Thursday evening. About the only negative is that at such a time, it's a really noisy place. Everything else was perfect. The service was superb and the size, taste, and value of our dishes were really good. Good place near the hotel and near the field . Have great selection of crafted beer wine and full bar . Food is good but the customer service is exceptional. They really pay attention and are very friendly. I wanted to try their summer veg burger but have already placed other one so will try next time . Had the wrong time for Aces baseball game today and was a couple of hours early, so glad we were..decided to get a bite to eat since I was two hours early and so glad we decided to check out Mellow Fellow!! Popped in while passing thru town one night. Decided to come here because we were hungry and the Marriott said enthusiastically "Good Food!" We were not disappointed! The Jerk Chicken Sandwich was stellar. Great bread, wonderful flavors on the chicken and the seasoning. Tots looked well done but were actually light and not too greasy. Nailed it! Gnocchi with Mushrooms - the wife was surprised that the gnocchi was deep fried so she was alittle put off by that. Could have used a little more sauce but the mushrooms were done perfectly. I personally liked the gnocchi, the cooking style added more texture, definitely not over boiled and mushy but more firm, yet tender. EDIT: Almost forgot! The avocado fries! Delicious! When they were hot, the avocado was a little firm but after letting them sit for 5-7 minutes, the heat baked into the avocado and it was tender, soft and creamy. Oh yea! I'd definitely eat those in the restaurant and not get them to go - you wont be disappointed. Beer selection? Oh man! Just what I needed after a 9 hour drive. Great options, well laid out on the menu and the gentleman that helped us knew every beer. I asked if he was the manager or the owner and he said "he does it all so it doesnt matter!" What a delightful spot to visit before a Reno Aces game! The design allows for huge doors to open and allow fresh air and an outdoor vibe. They were short staffed and made every effort to support the customers with cooks delivering meals and the bartender stepping around the bar to check on us. Nice touch! Visited this spot for the Sunday brunch they have and the food did not disappoint. I enjoyed the Benedict order I got and everyone else's plates looked delicious. We came on a trivia time so it was very busy and only two servers/bartenders were helping everyone. We waited a long time to get our mimosas but the food came out at a good time. The chorizo had great flavoring in the Benedict and the hash browns were crispy. The asparagus on the plate I thought looked great for presentation but were tasty too. The staff had a positive attitude even though they were getting swamped with how busy it was. I will have to try their lunch menus one day. read more

We ordered the deep fried burger with fries and Brussel Sprouts. The bartender told us the food would take about 30 mins because the place was already hopping!! Served with a mayo based sauce that was banging good and spicy!! They put a finishing salt on them which for me was a little too much salt but overall soooo delicious! Mellow Fellow is such a cool spot in Reno. The location and setup of the restaurant is great. ESPECIALLY if you are going to an Aces game prior to or after your stop at MF. With a large variety of craft beers and the perfect pub type menu, there's not a lot to mess up! One thing that should be known is that if you want to drink and eat right, it's going to cost you. In my opinion, it's worth it. Upon this stay, I had the classic burger. It is delicious. My husband and I enjoy going to Mellow Fellow under normal circumstances, but when we planned to go to an Aces game the other day and saw that Mellow Fellow now has a special Game Day Menu - we knew where we wanted to go for a bite before the game! It was fairly crowded when we arrived but we were able to grab a couple chairs at the bar and were given the game day menu right away. This menu offers several items for $11 - but what stood out immediately to us were the "Beer Combo" options where you get a choice of four different beers and a food item. We both went with the Stone Delicious IPA for our beer selection. For food, my husband went with the Bratwurst while I went with the Tacos. For the tacos, you have a choice between Tri Tip, Carne Asada, Korean Pork, Crispy Fish, Vegan, Pork Belly, or Calamari. Wow- so many choices! I wanted calamari but they were out of it so I went with the Crispy Fish (battered cod, baja sauce, shredded red cabbage, pineapple salsa). I have to say, I think I got the better of our two orders - three yummy tacos! We really like the idea of their Game Day Menu - especially since Mellow Fellow is located right across the street from Greater Nevada Field where the Reno Aces play! In all caps at the bottom of this special menu and in a large font it states "READY IN 15 MINUTES!!!," however, our food took closer to 30 minutes to arrive. While we were in no rush, others may take issue with this. It is just the beginning of a long baseball season, so they have plenty of time to get the timing down. We'll just have to go again and see if they do - plus, I'd love to try those calamari tacos! read more

This is a great establishment for having a few beers and a burger just before heading to the Aces game. But if you are coming here for the burgers and beer, you are missing the point of this restaurant. This place is all about te- inventing basic comfort food. Take the tater tot's for instance. They are not the soggy flavorless mounds of mush that you remember from junior high. The tater tots here are crispy on the outside, but warm and steamy inside. Better yet, try the macaroni and cheese here. They take it to the next level by adding things like crab lobster, pulled pork to it. and finally the service here is friendly and energetic. Just one word of warning if you are here on a game day, bring your patients they will be crowded and it will take time to get your order, but it's well worth it. read more
