I started going to Brickies in the early 90's when Jody owned the property and the bar was on the other side. I loved this bar with my whole heart. It was my Brickies family! I could go there by myself and feel safe and well taken care of. Then Jody sold it and my world changed and so did my family. The bartenders, cooks, the food all changed. I stopped going for a really long time, then I went to the Milk & Honey Festival and I was in the area and I drove by Brickies and saw an old friend in the parking lot. I went in and caught up with my long time friend Whitney. He caught me up on the years I missed. I decided it was time to go back again and order the food! My all time favorite was the Chicken Taco with dips & salas. I have to admit the taco was almost like I remember but even better. The chips weren't stale now it comes with sour cream. I told the cook how much I loved it and the bartender Katie was super nice & attentive. I even got to see my old friend again. I loved that the Brew Bike was outside and the guys were having so much fun inside! It's a new era and maybe this is a sign you're meant to come back and join the Brickies family! Its a local dive bar known for burgers. The food was good. Not the best ever though. I ordered the burger (no cheese) and was asked to choose a side (fries, tots and or some other choices that I cannot recall now.) I picked the tots. My dining partner ordered the Quesadilla w chicken. It was meh. Plain jane and quite pedestrian. I don't recommend. I had a Beer. She had the Nutrl. Drink meu looks as expected. Drinks were cold. Great staff. Lana and Katie. Both did a fabulous job with great, friendly attitudes and smiles a mile wide. Ok here's where it goes south and quickly too...... The menu shows one price for the cheese burger. (remember I asked for no cheese) My bill showed an increased price for the burger (minus cheese!?) I spoke with Lana and she apologized profusely. She explained that if you get tots as the side there is an up charge. Nowhere on the menu does it reflect this and when my order was taken, I was asked for what side I wished for. When I said "tots" she did not warn me or even mention that there was an up charge for this side. So, as most would, I assumed that it came with the meal as shown on the menu. She had mentioned that they have brought this to the attention of the management and owners but to the date of my dining there they have not addressed it. I have to say this is my A-NUMBER ONE PET PEEVE!!! Don not try the bait and switch. This is a shady practice and many diners, I am sure, do not pay attention to their bills to the extent that I do. So, take warning that you should check you bill against the menu when cashing out. Once again the staff was great. Respectful and totally understood and were very apologetic. (its close to tip time so....) Bottom line, the bill was adjusted. HOWEVER, It's the point though. This kind of practice is not cool. I might return but not until they make new menus or stop up-charging with out notice. read more

This place has some good burger ratings so I decided to check it out on a late Saturday morning. Overall the atmosphere is great for a dive bar and my bloody marry was made great. Burger toppings came on the side which I appreciated. However the grill was dirty as my burger had black crunchies on it and I could taste the gas from the grill. Salad was delicious but my fork was dirty to begin with. Overall might be worth another try. read more

I've only recently been introduced to Brickies, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite local bars. It's what you would call a hole in the wall bar, but in the best way. There's nothing fancy about it, the bar and staff are down to earth, you will most likely be surrounded by regulars, and surprisingly I always see a family or two in here enjoying dinner, which I think is great. Brickies has something for everyone with a broad menu to choose from, drink specials, good beers on tap, and plenty of space. I've haven't eaten a meal here yet, but look forward to trying some of the food and from what I've seen and smelled it looks appetizing. Plan on updating my review after a meal, but I have nothing but great things to say about the bartenders, always friendly and attentive, and I always seem to strike up a friendly conversation with someone when I'm here. For so many years this has been my comfort pub. The food was great and always seeing the same servers. This is the place. The last few years there has been a steady decline in quality and service. Today's breakfast had tater tot hash browns and canned Nalley's chili. Bags and cans are not food, and the toast was inedible briquettes. After more than a dozen years and giving so many chances at redemption over the last few years, I'm done, my shadow will no longer darken their doorway. Ok let's start with the fact that this place is a tavern so the expectations should be really low .. ok I walk in at 10 am on a Sunday and there are children in the bar - huge mistake ( I despise children so going place they might be is always a thing I think about ) next the bartender obviously doesn't work day shift and was a little crabby about working this shift , ok no biggie and she actually tried to be cordial to me but for the most part was meh to say the least . Now to the food - I had heard that the brunch here was pretty good but I ordered eggs Bennie and let me tell you it was a 2 out of 5 stars to say the least ! It has been at least 20 years since my previous trip to Brickies. To set the stage, it is a small locally owned tavern, 14 seats at the bar and 7 high tables. It is clean and screams sports, dive and gambling tavern. There is a good amount of off street parking and is just far enough away from downtown to stave off the riffraff. Very friendly staff that was 100% attentive throughout our visit. Our server was so attentive to all of the patrons that that he brought water to a service/seeing eye dog seated next to us. The issues we had to day was the food. We ordered tater-tots and they were out. I am not sure if the cook was unfamiliar with cooking the fries that they replaced them with, but they came out underdone, soggy and greasy. I think they were cooked in an oven as opposed to hot oil. The chicken fingers for the same reason came out cooked but with soggy coating. On the a better note the burger was cooked well and had a great flavor. read more

Actually, we go there on Wednesday nights, because they have corned beef. The tacos & salads are pretty good & I once tried the quesadilla, which was okay, as well. They have a lot of fried food & with a meal you usually get tots, chips or French fries. I don't care for those, so I order a side salad with fresh romaine lettuce. Visited this place on our last day while burning time waiting for our flight. The waitress was nice and made a great bloody marry. We ordered a couple burgers which were delicious. Brickies Tavern on 6th is right downtown. The staff is over the top friendly & service is lightening quick. The bartender knew every customer's first name and greeted them as they entered. Being a tavern, they have every brew known to man. For the non-drinkers, it's Coke products. The bar has gaming. The food is incredibly excellent. Finally, a burger better than the awful-awful & there's no grease to soak through the bottom bun !! The music is low volume & the wall of TV's is all about sports. *All the inside tables are high tops, so the physically challenged be warned. The premise is aged but spotlessly clean. Don't let the neighborhood scare you off. Their parking lot is attached along with a covered patio. Once again, this is the friendliest business we've patronized in recent memory. I popped in here randomly one day and was very happy I did. The service is very friendly! They have a great menu with good pricing. There is gaming at the bar and they will serve you drinks while you play too. The burger is definitely worth a try. I also ordered wings. Came back tonight for a burger and wow! So delicious-tastes homemade but better than I remember homemade burgers! Hubby had the French dip which was also delicious. For sides we had the potato salad and French fries-potato salad was just like my mom used to make and French fries were fresh and crispy. They have a full bar and wonderful service-friendly, professional and prompt. People have called this a dive-I just felt really at home and very safe. I must confess that after over 7 years in Reno, I just recently dined at Brickies for the first time. My husband and I met up here with some friends for dinner and a drink before heading to the light festival downtown. The place was packed when we arrived and the waitress made sure to tell us that we should look over the menus quickly so we could beat the dinner rush in the kitchen, which I appreciated. The food is typical greasy bar food and you're able to watch the cook make everything in the tiny kitchen right next to the bar. I enjoyed my meal of BLT and fries and found the prices to be very reasonable. Service was good despite the large amount of people she was taking care of. I can see why it's a well-loved local establishment and will probably be back in the future if hanging out in the area. Maybe for a hair of the dog brunch someday? read more

Brickie's is solid! We've heard for a while that they had the best burger in town. I can't vouch for that... the competition is tough in Reno... but the quality is good enough that we will definitely return. We took our burgers and wings to-go for a little impromptu picnic. We called in the order and the girl on the phone was sweet and patient with me since I was ordering off of an old menu I found online. Pick-up was seamless too - the food was ready as soon as I got there. This place looks like it would be a shady dive, but they actually have a cute little patio and the inside seems cozy too. The burgers themselves had that awesome grilled char flavor and definitely cooked perfectly - just a touch of pink still. Toppings were nice and fresh, bun soft and a perfect size for the burger (which itself was huge!) The only thing I would want more of would be mayo or sauce. The burger ate a little dry. I like a good juicy burger. We also did the wings with Brickies sauce which was kind of like a spicy BBQ. The wings were good and the sauce was super yummy. We got tots with our meal - I think they bake the tots instead of fry them, so they reminded me more of the food I got as a kiddo. Speaking of kids food, my daughter loved her hot dog! The server was very friendly. They play great music, 60s and 70s. And it's at a great volume. You can hear it but it doesn't blast so loud that you can't have a conversation. It's a small hole in the wall. You would miss it if you didn't know it was there. I had the Patty Melt. It was outstanding. The cook did a great job on the hamburger. I chose the tomato soup for my side. OMG! That was some of the best tomato soup I've ever had. They have a nice enclosed patio for dining. I highly recommend people try Brickie's! read more

Order the Big Brickies Burger with cheese and potato salad or tatter tots or their homemade soup. If you want a great salad get the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Now if you want Mexican I dare you to order the nachos. It's huge and awesome. The two tacos can be shared but I take one home for lunch the next day. They play the sound on the TV during football games and you have a jukebox and play music from your phone or bet on a square for a game. The bartenders are great. Just tell them what you need. They don't ask you 500 times if you need anything. They welcome you and make you feel welcome. They have an atm if you want to play poker and an outside area with a tv. Brickies is good!! They make a delicious cheeseburger and potato salad here. Our server who was also the bartender (the super pretty woman with blonde hair) gave us the best service tonight when we came in for dinner. This is a small place inside with a few tables and some seats at the bar. From where we were sitting, I could watch the cook grill up our burgers and it was cool watching him make our food. They have a lot of TVs inside so no matter where you sit, you won't miss the game on, and they even had some kind of local bets based on the games. There were plenty of fans going so it was a nice temperature inside which is nice because sometimes taverns can feel a little stuffy. Probably would lean towards 3.5 stars to be honest. Is Brickies where you'd want to take a date, probably not unless that's what your date wants. However, Brickies is exactly what you expect it to be when you walk inside. A pretty open bar set up, maybe 10 or so tables and 15 bar seats with table top gaming. It's clean inside and with TVs and food and beer you really can't go wrong. We didn't stay this trip and instead just got burgers to go due to a new baby with us but the burgers hit the spot. They have a simple small flat top grill to cook on and a nice char grill which is what you can see the burger was cooked on due to the look and taste. The tots weren't anything special but that's okay with me. The patties were juicy, the cheese was plentiful and I was full after eating. Really all I can want. Brickies isn't fancy and they don't try or need to be. It is a simple little bar with food, beer and sports on. Worth getting another trip to on another day. read more

This is a small little hidden place, not to far from downtown Reno. We came across Brickies when we were looking for a late late dinner (9pm) and were craving burgers. The price & size of the burger are worth it. Both burgers were amazing! The bun is soft and fresh. The toppings are also very fresh.
