If I'd read the reviews first I wouldn't have come here. But, I'm glad I did. It's was a bit late into the dinner time of day, on a Thursday. I sat in the bar area since I dined alone. I was waited on quickly by Spencer. He was was helpful and professional. I order the Hawaiian pizza, a spinach salad and a local draft beer. The salad and beer were delivered quickly. The salad was awesome! The beer was too. The pizza came out a short time later. Though it was ok, it had too much tomato sauce and not nearly enough ham. When Spencer stopped by to check on me I said I was disappointed in the sparse ham quantity. He immediately put in a request for more ham and delivered it a few minutes later. The staff here are really friendly, likeable and feel like real people. The food is also pretty well made by the way. I came here for a birthday party so I'm not entirely sure about the pricing but everything else I've seen is great. Our experience was excellent tonight. We were told 30 minutes for pizza, so we ordered an appetizer. When it arrived the manager came and said it wasn't up to her expectations and wanted to give us another one, which she brought back promptly. She was extremely attentive. Holy shiitake they have good pizza. Thanks to Kara, the magnificent bartender for allowing me not to make up my mind between the Holy Shittake and Magical Mystery Tour pizza and suggesting I get it half and half. The MMT was the perfect mix of mushroom and heat but the garlic, mushrooms, cheeses, and flavors of the HS were second to none. Pretty cool lil' place. Got to sit outside on a beautiful night. Huge draft beer selection. Great service & an eclectic atmosphere combines w/ really good pizza w/ amazing crusts. The only drawback is that it is a little pricey & side salad is not worth $2.00, but they charge $5.50 for some lettuce & mushrooms w/ dressing served in a little plastic container. Kind of lame. I had never heard of this chain before, but I'm never one to vote down pizza and beer. The pizza was alright. In addition to the menu selections, you can pretty much create whatever you want. The crust left something to be desired though; it was doughy, without that magical combination of crust and chew. The beers, at least on tap, are heavily slanted towards wretched American microbrews. They were nice about letting me sample a few before committing to a pint, but I have to say nothing I tasted really blew me away. read more

Came here for the first time with my friend from UTA. I have heard very good reviews about this place from all of my friends, whether at Austin or even around Dallas metroplex, so I decided to give it a try. Since we came around 3, there weren't many people so our food came out pretty fast. There are so many different special pies and customizable ones at that, so it took awhile to discover what we wanted to order. We ended up getting a spinach artichoke dip and the medium House Special. The spinach artichoke dip was very good and the right amount to keep us full until the pizza came out. The pizza was very good - you can tell it's made out of fresh ingredients. The crust was exceptional, with Parmesan cheese baked into it. The slices were very big and I could only finish one slice. I even got a discount for being an UTA student so that was a surprise. The only thing I didn't like was the service, although it was at 3, our server wasn't the best. Luis and I couldn't believe our eyes. Another restaurant in "downtown Arlington"! It is next to the relatively new Babe's Restaurant. It is on a one way street going south so approach it from Division street. We called on the phone to find out if they had any lunch specials. First we were hung up on, then the lady answering the phone kept saying she couldn't hear us. She had an accent so I put Luis on the phone and he asked her in Spanish if they had any lunch specials. And that didn't get us anywhere either. Hum? As it turns out they have no lunch specials. Parking is way in the back. We walked in and there was no aroma except for "new" plastic. On the menu they have munchies, which are appetizers, salads, pizzas, calzones, and hoagies. The waitstaff wears tye-dyed t-shirts which kinda reminds you of Freebirds. We sat and sat and could not really justify spending $11.95 for a Margarita pizza that is called "the Freshies" when there are so many other tried and true pizza specials like Pizza Hut or Domino's one large 3 toppings $11.99. The names of the foods is so far out that my conservative self left w/o ordering, but I'll get something soon. It probably would have been a great idea if they would have sliced up some small pizza samples and let us try it before we wave our $15 at them. I was right! It's bad. I called around 8:35pm. There was so much noise at the restaurant in the background on a Friday night for the new restaurant. The order taker told me on the phone it would take 25 minutes to fill this order, so I went at 8:55pm. When you walk in the door you are greeted by a group of energetic teenagers. You almost feel like your there for your skate rental. If your a baby boomer you'll know what I mean. I ordered tortilla soup w/ chicken to go, $4.25 plus $1.25 for the chicken and the meatball appetizer, $6.75, in all total: $13.32. They did not include the sour cream, the avocado, the cheddar cheese, or the lime garnish and the soup was cold. The soup tastes like greasy Progresso soup w/ prefabricated chicken coins thrown in. Bon Appetit:) If you want good tortilla soup go to Whole Foods. It is fairly delectable and has "real" pieces of shredded chicken thrown in. It is $7.99 / pound, and you can actually eat and enjoy it. Now for my next "munchie" appetizer, the meatballs from first glace you kinda feel sorry for the small tortilla soup container, based on size alone. The presentation of the (3) meatballs is lovely. They are bulbous like turkey drumsticks on a long toothpick-like wooden skewer. They are laying in a beautiful red colored ragu sauce. You can even see large pieces of mozzarella cheese. The basil is dried and microscopic at best. You really think your in for a real treat until you bite into it. And then you find out its cold and deplorable. The meatballs taste like something out of a can of Chef Boyardee w/ a cold slice of mozzarella thrown inside the meatball. The sauce is a thick, pasty, and Prego-like. I figured there was no plasticware in to go back so I asked for some and seeing as they hadn't put any in the bag it is a good thing that I did ask. You would think that with the numbers of eager teenagers standing a the door to fill one to go order that someone would be on the plasicware station, another on temperature control of outgoing food, a greeter, and someone to take the money. Arlington is still in search of a decent place to chow down. read more

What happened? I used to love this place, our order tonight was terrible. The dough tasted bitter, and the pizzas had HARDLY any toppings for the price paid. We got the Funky Q Chicken and there was hardly ANY chicken at all. I got one less than an inch by inch piece of chicken on my huge slice and the whole pizza is like that. 25$ for bread with sauce and cheese? Im actually kind of angry. What a dissapointment. Great gluten free pizza! I have Hashimotos disease and can't eat wheat so the option was awesome and the whole reason we came. I'm from Chicago and I know good pizza, so back in the day before I got sick I had some good pizza and although this is not Chicago style, its customizable and up there. My boyfriend and I ordered a curry pizza and then another specialty one with beef and they were both to die for. The gluten free crust was thin and we each ordered a medium and each medium was enough for one person. Specialty pizzas dead on. Will 110% be coming back. Awesome atmosphere too.
