The food was tasty and the service was fine. My main complaint is that this place needs a real good cleaning. Seems like it's probably mostly take out food ordered from them, so it's not real noticeable to those stopping in just to pick up their food. I've seen this place on my feed a few times and figured I'd check them out for lunch. It's sandwiched in between a couple restaurants and since the sign isn't big, it can be hard to miss. When I walked in, I was surprised at how big it was. I took a gander at the menu and decided on the grilled chicken rice bowl and a small piece of the pistachio baklava all to go. It wasn't long until my food was ready and off I went. Since I was hungry, I figured I'd try the baklava to hold me over until I got home. To my surprise, it was freezing cold! I've never had cold baklava in my life, so suffice to say it was a bit unsettling. Since I was focusing on how cold it was, I couldn't even tell you if it was actually good. Since the baklava wasn't hitting, I was really hoping the bowl would but unfortunately, that, too, came up short. There was a garlic sauce on top but it did absolutely nothing for the bowl. I think the bowl lacked flavor and was disappointing considering how good it looks in all the pictures. While my first experience wasn't the best, I'd be willing to give them another shot but it won't be anytime soon. read more

My first time here and I got the house salad and a gyro wrap to go. The meat in the salad was fantastic. Nice blend of spices. Same with the gyro-- I will definitely be back! Only 10 minutes for a to go order of falafel and a loaded schwarma. The dining room is medium small with six 4 tops and three 2 tops. The refrigerators are on the side next to the 2 tops before you get to the one bathroom. I love how frshly it is made to order. The combos are a pretty good deal. $18 for the loaded schwarma with fries and a drink. The first two falafels i ate were dry which was much more noticeable since they forgot my tzatziki sauce in my to go order. The 3rd one had an acceptable amount of moisture. My wife had the other two and said they were fine. Our whole family loved the fries as they had a nice batter on them. They only gave us 2 ketchup packets though. I came in for lunch and enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is fairly small but it's got a large menu with lots of options. They also had a large variety of juice and mock-tails, and lots of desserts. I ordered the chicken shawarma. I've never had shawarma before and I really enjoyed it. Definitely planning on coming back to try more of the menu. My only suggestion, the shawarma didn't come with fries and I didn't want to spend $5 on an order. It'd be cool or add a half order to a shawarma/gyro etc for $2 or something. Or some kind of "+drink and fries" lunch deal. read more

The shwarma was good for the price. That was about all that's good. The wing appetiser was not seasoned, you can even taste the lighter fluid used. The rice was bland and the "fresh juices" are from canned fruit nectar. Will not be returning. read more

Well we thought we would go to a Mediterranean restaurant, you know, like fresh , pita,hummus, pilaf, souvlaki, etc. First off the prices were sky high with out chicken and beef kabob plates coming in at 21.99 each!. What we got was four ground meat sausage shaped things with a side of spicy fajita type veggies and pita. We asked for some hummus which was 7.99! I've eaten more than my fair share of Mediterranean cuisine. A shwarma sandwich is one of my go tos. I've just always loved the flavour of them. Beef or chicken it doesn't matter. They're just so good. Unfortunately I've had my first (very) mediocre shwarma experience, here at Sharjah Grill. First off, $28 for two shwarma sandwiches and a coke. Not cool. Especially considering they were both the size of a three bite hotdog. The "Sharjah Sauce" pretty much overpowers everything else in there, making everything very one note. They were both quite greasy and I had to look twice to confirm they weren't just using ground beef and ground chicken. Super disappointing. read more

Heard about this new spot, so of course I had to try it out. We ordered a chicken Shawarma and a vegetarian Shawarma and decided to eat in. It's a nice cozy little place. If you eat in, they will bring the food out to your table on a tray, using real dishes (but plastic cutlery). Both shawarmas were pretty good. I did think the chicken could have had a little more char to it, but perhaps that's a personal preference. The vegetarian Shawarma came with the paneer in the form of a couple of small slabs. This was better than being diced up I think, because Paneer has a pretty mild flavor and could otherwise have disappeared into the wrap. Some additional seasoning while being could have benefited the paneer. Not that it was bad, just would have improved it. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch amongst running around for the holiday. We ordered two Grill Chicken on Gyro Bread, came with Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Onion, Pepper, Sharjah Sauce and fries and it was delicious. We've passed this place many times, but never stopped in. I will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. My wife is not a big gyro fan and she really enjoyed it. The white sauce (tzatziki) was very flavorful, could have had more. We like any international cuisine and this is an excellent addition to west county. We loved it. Easy to find off of Clarkson exit of 40. Lots of parking in the Schnuck's lot. Nothing fancy, just a small storefront with comfortable chairs and tables. Very friendly owners who are glad to answer questions about the menu. It is clear they want to take care of their customers and do whatever they can to make you happy. We enjoyed our conversations with the owners and the chef. I had the mixed grill rice bowl and loved it. It comes with basmati rice surrounded by beef gyro meat, chicken and diced veggies. The white house sauce they provided has a garlic base. I used a good amount of it but I have to say everything was so tasty it probably didn't need it. The charred gyro meat was the highlight. They said they marinate, steam and then grill the chicken. It showed. The veggies--tomatoes, red onions and yellow peppers--were fresh, crisp and tasty. Next time I would bargain for even more because I really liked them. The rice is basmati and has a light kick but nothing too spicy. Taken all together it was the kind of meal where every bite was a treat. Large, too. I finished maybe half. Looking forward to the leftovers. My wife enjoyed her grilled paneer salad. The paneer (cheese) is somewhat like tofu and was cut in large strips. She is a big salad fan and instantly remarked on how fresh the lettuce and other ingredients were. We'll be back to check out more of the menu in the future. A warning, this is not Mediterranean food. Very very americanized food that takes away from the Mediterranean flavors. I would not say it tastes like Mediterranean food at all. The staff is kind.
