We had such a great dinner experience here yesterday. We immediately got Santa Cruz vibes from the decor and staff, which is always welcome to a family of homesick Californians. Anyways, we got a medium pizza with our favorite toppings as well as a kids Mac & Cheese (our kid's weird and would probably only get pizza if it *wasn't* a pizza place). The kids meal came out thankfully super quick and their Mac and cheese has this really interesting like bacon-y taste that I've not come across before so that was cool. The pizza was totally delicious- nice topping distribution, cheesy, crust was delicious, etc. Also, they use paper straws which is very cool and appreciated by all the sea turtles, I'm sure. This restaurant served me the best pizza I've EVER eaten : the Blue Bayou. The dough was perfect. It was topped with a spicy, creamy bleu cheese sauce, mozzarella cheese, Andoulle sausage, and superbly blackened and grilled shrimp. I've been coming to Mellow Mushroom for 5+ years now. The pizza never disappoints no matter which one you order. My favorite is the Holy Shiitake, though. The crust is so flavorful but doesn't overwhelm the toppings. I also love the pretzel bites as an app and it's $2 off during happy hour! I enjoy drinking liquor and the Jingle Juice quenches my thirst ($6 for happy hour). I have never had a bad experience and recommend their pizza to everyone! We recently had my son's wedding rehearsal luncheon at this location. It was quite a success thanks to Alex Lopez. Throughout the planning stages he could not have been more helpful. Every email was answered right away with all my questions answered. He was not able to be on location the day of the event but left us in the very capable hands of Brandi. Our guests raved about the food and the service we received. I highly recommend this restaurant for an event! We had a perfect experience at mellow mushroom, this evening! Julie our waitress did an excellent job! She was very friendly and courteous. She was very attentive to our requests. We were Impressed because we normally don't find waitresses, that care like she did. Even the manager stopped by the table to ask us how everything was. Pizza is always great, if a tad bit overpriced, and there's a huge patio for those trying to avoid eating indoors right now. The only problem is that the management let's smokers smoke in the same area, which is kinda unappetizing (not to mention ride when you have two small children). I have always felt good and felt even better when I go to this restaurant. The service is pretty on point. Their managers come out once and a while and bring it up a notch with good customer service as well. The environment is upbeat and fun! It can be a fun date, to also bring your family out and everyone enjoys the experience. The menu has great variety and the food tastes very yummy. It's a little bit of a wait, but that's only because they make it from scratch. So it is worth the wait! They have a bar there too if you want an alcoholic beverage. Ok Now that they're reopened after Cove it we don't know what happened but this is not good. We sat outside service was so bad we cashed out and came inside which was no better. Ordered capris salad and the tomatoes were barely ripe the mozzarella was dry and barely got any balsamic on the salad. Ordered a buffalo chicken pizza small came out cold there might've been three pieces of chicken which each slice did not even get a piece of chicken the onions were not evenly distribute it only one piece got onions. And our waiter was never anywhere around for us to get satisfaction. Asked for extra dressing for the salad he forgot. Huge shoutout to this Mellow Mushroom location! I've been a fan of Mellow Mushroom for a long time, but until this evening, had never visited this location. However, my nephew is getting married this weekend and my sister hosted a casual rehearsal dinner here. One of the managers, Tommy, helped her ahead of time to plan the menu and answered all her questions along the way. They provided us access to the better part of the outside patio for the gathering. My sister, SIL and I arrived an hour early to decorate and set up. The managers came out and introduced themselves and the servers and went over the game plan regarding the food. I have to say, it went off without a hitch. As always, the food was awesome (we had a number of appetizers, a huge salad and a variety of pizzas). But the service....I cannot say enough....the service was outstanding! We had a great time....the bride and groom were happy, my overstressed, mother-of-the-groom sister was put at ease and everyone left with a full and happy belly! I was vacationing on Fleming Island with my in-laws. They apparently eat here often but I was only able to visit the restaurant once. I ordered a medium cheese pizza and it was tasty. We had a party of 25 people and reserved as a call ahead an area on the patio. Tommy was extremely accommodating. He even went to several locations to find firewood to burn in the patio fireplace when he realized the weather was going to be chilly. Wonderful service, excellent atmosphere. We've been there many times and always had a great experience The food is amazing! I recommend everything about this place EXCEPT Monday night trivia. The host is completely unprofessional. Our family witnessed this woman loudly arguing with one of the teams at their table about something, and the blatant immaturity and disregard for the others around her that she displayed completely ruined the experience for us. This is no reflection on the company that does the trivia or Mellow Mushroom. We will be back, just not on Mondays. read more

The staff at this establishment are blind to their own racism. On 10/18/2020 the host called my mother in law's phone once to notify her of the table, and then proceeded to give our outside table away to two white ladies when my MIL and friend didn't walk back from their car fast enough(the friend who accompanied my MIL was injured, so she couldn't walk very fast from the car to the table). The hostess then said that she called twice and the manager quickly became involved, taking the side of his high school aged employee. He told my MIL that the hostess was right and they would have to wait, even after showing her call log. This all happened in front of the two white ladies while they were sat and attended to. (Both parties needed outdoor seating to accommodate dogs) My MIL was mad and had finally decided to leave right when her son and I showed up. I am the only white woman in our party and found the situation strange, so I went to ask the manager what happened. He proceeded to tell me they have no policy on this sort of thing & it's up to him who sits where and when.. after he told my MIL that two calls was their policy AND that she was wrong--to her face. It's unfortunate given our current situation in society that micro aggressions still go unnoticed and unattended to. Unfortunate, but not surprising. Also unsurprising, once we arrived, it took all of 5 minutes to get our outside table. It's important to recognize when privilege is taking precedent, especially as a manager or employer. Not just in 2020, but all the time. It's all too easy to turn a blind eye, but that's the sort of action that upholds the structure of white supremacy in this city and nation. There is no small act of racism. I hope the staff can get it together and doesn't further damage or offend anyone in the future. read more
