Haven't been here in years and the location on Park was my favorite. Hate they closed down. This location missed the mark. The pizza took long to come out after tables around us got their food before we did that came after us. The pizza was dry and just wasn't good. We were offered a discount but I should have left. The waitress was not attentive to us and I felt a little racism with us being the only black people inside. I won't be going again. I ordered two pizzas to be delivered by bite squad. The small Funky Q Chicken pizza was basically a thin crust with cheese. The chicken was about amount of a large thigh. I always liked this place but had a really bad experience last time we went. We waited and waited on the pizza. Probably 45 min or more. I finally went up to the counter and the pizza had just been sitting out. I guess they over looked it. They just handed it to me, didn't even bring it to the table on the little stand. We teed a piece and couldn't eat it. Then we asked to speak to a manager who never came so we just left after only eating 1 bite each of the entire large pizza. We were the first guests in the restaurant for an early dinner. This was our first visit to this location. We were greeted by friendly staff and our order was promptly taken. We placed our order quickly. After I checked in on Yelp, I got a coupon for a free pretzel bite appetizer. (Yayyyy! Gotta love freebies!!) the appetizer came out before our pizza as requested. The cheese dip and marinara were very yummy. We got their version of the meat lovers pizza. The meaty toppings were plentiful. The thin crust was a tad soggy but tasty. I picked up a pizza yesterday. I am giving it 1 star because I got the most undercooked pizza ever. The curbside service was good and fast. However once I got home. The pizza crust looked pale and not quite done. Does not look like any of the crusts in photos... no golden brown crusts. Flavor was consistent with other mellow mushroom I had before so that was good. But the texture was bad. Dough was undercooked and gummy in some area. Yuk. My daughter who loves your pizza could not even finish one. Update-The owner reached out to me via Yelp. Explained that they have some new kitchen staff in training. I can empathize with this situation with so much labor issue due to COVID and vaccination. The owner was kind enough to offer to make it right. I am changing the review to 4 stars. 1 less from 5 because the first pizza. If the second pizza is stellar, I will raise to 5 stars. Update 2-Got the replacement pizza tonight. Another mellow mushroom in another town, and another rock solid experience. About my only complaint, and the reason for the less than five star review, is the fact that the location is not terribly well marked. They need some additional signage to help people find the restaurant from different locations in the complex. Once you're inside though it's the usual dependable mellow mushroom experience. I'm always on a mission to try every pizza place possible and finally made my way to Mellow Mushroom! The restaurant is very spacious and the day we went it was completely empty so noise and slow service was not an issue. My husband and I decided to each get our own small sized personal pizza. At first glance it seemed very small but don't be fooled, it's VERY filling. The crust was whole wheat and full of garlic flavor. It was SO GOOD! The menu had a decent variety and it was hard to choose a pizza. I decided on the Holy Shiitake and it was definitely a great choice. It was soooo full of flavor and creaminess. The food here is awesome! I am absolutely never disappointed with the food quality. However-- many times when I am here my entire party's food comes out at different times. The last time I went I ended up just asking for my pizza to be boxed up to go. My whole party had already eaten and I didn't want them stuck waiting on me. The ingredients taste fresh! The dough is done perfectly! The cheese is delish! (AND I HATE CHEESE!) They have amazing specialty pizzas, but if you're like me...you can always customize yours! My friends love the calzones and the salads look pretty tasty as well! I need to try those. As for the price...it can be a bit pricey, but for what you get it's TOTALLY worth it! Second, we had to wait for some minutes because our waitress didn't know she had us. *looks into the camera like on the show The Office* The pizza was great. My sister had a calzone and my mom had the House Special pizza. I had the Funky Q Chicken. As a bonus the cooks cooked an extra pizza and I got it. Forget the terrible doors. Extra pizza, bruh. I fully did not intend to write a review going in there, however the experience is forcing me to. I walked in about 8 or 830 on a Sunday night. There were about 25 people there. They sat me right away in the bar at a table with a great view of 2 TV's that had the football game on. I was greeted quickly by the bartender. Her name was Becka. I was referred here by a friend and had no idea what they offered so Becka quickly gave me a rundown of the goods. I had a coke to drink although they had about 15 beers on tap. I ordered the meatball appetizer by Becka's recommendation. She put that in and came back to check on my order. They have a ton of different pizzas...and being a guy from Chicago. ..I know about some pizzza! She said I could do half and half which quickly made up my mind. I went for the gourmet white and Maui Wowie...halfsies. Now, I think Maui Wowie is a type of weed that is grown in Hawaii...and I wouldn't know anything about that...however, this pizza that bares the same name is no freaking joke. The meatballs came out on a plate with nice presentation. 3 huge meatballs sliced in half with a chunk of fresh mozzarella in between and held together with skewers. The 3 skewers rested on a bed of marinara sauce. The result? An appetizer that got destroyed in 5 minutes or less. They are outstanding. The pizza came out and all I could do was look at it. It was amazing. Caribbean jerk chicken chunks, strip of peppered bacon, chunks of slightly mashed pineapple, shaved ham, and banana peppers all thrown over a spa of vinegar and oil. If you are lucky enough to get a bite with all of the ingredients...it is an absolute explosion of taste. The gourmet white was good...but the Maui Wowie was sooooooo good that I don't even remember anything specific about it. Becka refilled my drink when I reached the halfway point as the Maui pizza has some kick to it but not enough to make you run home to Mommy. I took 4 of the 8 pieces home (2 of each) and paid the bill. Becka was awesome. She was friendly, informing and entertaining (she sang all of the Christmas songs that were playing). Environment was cool. They have a bunch of stuff that keeps your eyes entertained, such as 7 different kinds of bar stools, which gives the place some flavor. Food was out of this world. read more

The pizza was pretty good but wrong. This was our first stop in after the two bad previous experiences (60 min to get food , 2nd visit all pizzas were black on bottom). We figured processes must have gotten better. Well...not for us. Without boring details we ordered a large pizza split half and half (BBQ & Buffalo) and a kids Pizza. The kids meal arrived 15 minutes after the large. We're not sure if the large was right because we literally couldn't tell which side was which. Well, come on. Surely we can all have a good laugh together at the mural on the wall at the Mellow Mushroom, the one that says "The Soul of Germantown." Say what? Hey, no one's knocking Germantown here, and definitely not taking a shot at the Mellow Mushroom. It's just funny. Soul and Germantown. Hmmm ... I wonder if Stax is thinking about moving to the 'burbs ... It might be the first thing you notice when you walk into the new and extremely popular pizza parlor, but you'll leave with a smile on your face for a different reason. The food will make you happy. If you're a fan of white pizza, and I am, then you're going to love the Gourmet White. Oozy provolone, mozzarella and feta cheese and the sliced onions are the star of the pie, which is also garlicky and includes sun-dried and sliced tomatoes. Moving on, the Kosmic Karma might be the prettiest pizza you've ever seen, with its bright green swirl of pesto from rim to center, begging you to drag a toothpick through it and make a spider's web design. While I doubt pesto is made fresh on premises -- the cost would be crazy -- I wouldn't call anyone a liar who told me otherwise. It's fresh and bright, tasting as much of summer as a cool glass of lemonade. The Karma also has sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and feta cheese, which means that so far, my favorite pizzas at Mellow Mushroom are meatless. There are about 40 on tap and if that's not enough for you, well, you're either in trouble or in luck -- take your pick -- as higher-alcohol big beers are available by the bottle. The servers are young and friendly, enthusiastically telling you their favorites if you ask. The vibe is not the hippie feel you get at some Mushrooms, but it is friendly, comfortable and welcoming.
