I heard amazing things about this place and finally was able to give it a try a few weeks ago. First of all it wasn't very busy so I'm sure that helped in some areas. The service was great, and the waiter was able to help me decide on a few beers from their large selection. I had the buffalo chicken pizza and it was good, not great. The crust had good flavor but was maybe a little crispy for my taste and I was kinda disappointed about the lack of toppings. The price is also a little steep for what I considered just an Okay pizza. All in all not to bad tho, I'll go back to try some other things on the menu. read more

I am a lover of all things pizza so for me to give a pizza joint 1 star means it's pretty horrible. Staff: we walked in early evening. The place was basically empty. The 2 hosts looked frazzled and couldn't figure out where to seat us. They asked if an outdoor table would be ok. It was 80 degrees and humid as heck. We said a quick "No" which frazzled them both even more. We finally were seated in a booth. The server was friendly enough. No negatives there. Atmosphere: the Disney movies soundtrack playing the entire time was annoying and a little disturbing Food: TASTELESS! Honestly, I've tasted more seasoning on a piece of toast. We started with their garlic butter/parm pretzels with marinara. They honestly tasted like cardboard and the sauce tasted like crushed tomatoes. No seasoning. I just stopped eating them because I couldn't justify the calories. I ordered the house special pizza. This pizza comes with a bunch of meats and veggies. Too bad I couldn't taste it. The wheat crust was mushy and there was about a half inch of mozzarella on the entire pizza that it masked the flavor of all of the toppings. I also wasn't sure if there was any sauce on mine. My husband had the Tie Dye pizza with curried chicken and Thai chili sauce. This one was at least palettable. The sauce and curried chicken paired nicely together but overall it was still pretty boring. Value: you pay more for fresh ingredients but this was totally NOT worth it. Save your money and get a hot and ready from Little Caesars. At least their grease has flavor. Overall very disappointed. I wanted so much to like this place but unfortunately I will not be patronizing a Mellow Mushroom again. read more

I live about 20 yards from the front door of this place and don't want to go here more than once a year. A disappointing chain with cop-out, doughy pizza. This state unfortunately has poor taste in pizza. read more

Took 25 minutes before we were offered any kind of service...then when the waiter was taking my order just as I start he starts conversing with an emplyee....no apologie....then another 20 minutes for drinks....food took 40 to come out soup and salad and my soup is under appetizers.....soup does not show have to ask about it another 15 min.for that....then left my cup at end of table for refill...4 servers walk by....no offer never was offered refill....then to get Bill took about 15 when waiter brought bill over was explaining to him the serves issues ....no remorse.....i am 49 years old and have never had such piss poor service in my life....but I will say the food was good to bad never will go back again.... read more

Food was good and unique, however, the price is too high and the service is terrible. First they lost our order ticket, then didn't even offer to try to make up for it. Once we were done we waited forever for our the waitress to come back which she never did. We finally gave up and tracked someone down to get the check. We were very close to leaving without paying. I have been in twice and my only complaint was the wait. The pizza is different from what I'm used to, but in a good way. Very unique and slightly chewy crust which I'm a big fan of. The price can be a bit of a shock to small-town people that are used to the 10-15 spent on an average delivery pizza, but the ingredients and quality are deserving not to mention that I can usually put down serious amounts of pizza and 2 slices of large with a beer and I'm stuffed. Tried out the Mellow Mushroom last night. Hmmmm, long wait with a texting and waiting list that had its issues. 45 minute wait, but great pizza! The wings weren't so good, nor the margarita, go across the street and get carry out wings. The music pretty loud - and I like music! Placed an online order for pick-up 4 hours ahead of time. Arrive to pick it up at the set time and got told there is "no telling" when it will even be started. Then ask for a refund but was made to wait until the manager was done making pizzas. read more

This is a limited review, because we only had a couple of appetizers. We went on game day, so service was understandably a little slow. Good drink selection, although my "Big Red" seemed a little light on alcohol. We got the muffuletta cheese-bread and the caprese salad, both of which were excellent. We'll go back again. read more

I first discovered Mellow when I lived in Texas. Their pizza and build your own salads but their service is terrible!! Every time I come the hostess stand seems to be a site of chaos and confusion; waits are always long; I've often been overlooked for customers who came in after me;it commonly takes over 10 minutes to first see a server at your table; 20 minutes for a cocktail;and while I understand pizzas are made to order 45 minutes seems a little extreme. Ordering take-out is nearly as stressful as the hostesses take your order at the stand in the midst of all the noise and chaos so they can't hear you on the phone nor are they familiar with the menu. Frustrating to lime the food so much but pay so much for terrible service! read more

Went for the first time today. Had heard a lot a good buzz about it. The place is funky and neat. Food was good but not great. We got there at 1:00pm on a Saturday. Our server was a very nice young lady but it took well over an hour to get our food. The place was not busy either. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and they were overdone (but not burned). The pizzas were fresh and had good flavor when they finally arrived. We'll go back sometime since the food was good. Maybe the slowness was a fluke. read more

This is a great pizza place. Lots of pizza choices, customize your pizza, allergy friendly menu. I've had a number of pizzas from them and they've all been good. We do mostly carry out, but never had service issues when we stayed. Highly recommend if you're in the Haymarket. read more

We walked into Mellow Mushroom, and WOW were we blown away by the atmosphere. Super fun, bright, happening place, with AMAZING art work. We were immediately greeted by a friendly host staff and told there would be a 20-30min wait, which we expected since it was a Friday night. We gave them our number, and headed over to the Rail Yard. They texted us with in 15mins and told us our table was ready! We headed in and they sat us at a booth for a table of seven, the booth was a "U" shape so we were all able to fit, but it was a little small, but it worked, and as full as the restaurant was, NO COMPLAINTS. With in seconds our server was there, and got us are drink orders, I had Drinking in Lincoln, which was an excellent specialty drink, and my husband had a Blue Moon, but there was easily 30 beers on tap, and lots of bottles to choose from. For appetizers we got the Muffalata Bread, Spinach Dip, and Pretzels for the kids. All were amazing, but the Spinach Dip was stand out. It was creamy and hot, and I could have had more. All together the appetizers cost us about $24 dollars. For dinner we got the kids mac n' cheese, Holy Shitake Pie and Funky Q. Chicken, and my friend got the Avocado Hoagie. The Holy Shitake Pie was amazing, so so yummy and like nothing I had ever tasted. The Crust was awesome, and I could have ate it by it's self! And talk about fresh ingredients, holy smokes, I think they have a garden in the back or the restaurant. The Funky Q. was superb too, and cooked perfectly, the chicken was still tender! Overall our bill all together was about $110 to feed 7 people, and a sufficient amount of drinks. WHEN CAN I GO AGAIN? read more

Great location right across the street from Pinnacle Bank Arena, great food and great service. Much better than the food and service I received at Buffalo Wings and Rings which is across from Mellow Mushroom. Mellow Mushroom is right up there with Lazzos as far as food and service. Stopped in for Dinner with the Wife and our son yesterday for dinner, we each got a small pizza and got our son the meatballs with Marinara and Mozzerella. We've ate at Mellow Mushroom in North Carolina but this was our first experience here in Lincoln. I got the Mighty Meaty which has always been my favorite. It was good but definitely not as good as I recalled. They also forgot to bring my wifes side salad she ordered which wasn't a big deal as long as we didn't have to pay for it obviously. The service was a bit lacking but the gentlemen seemed nice enough, just lacked some efficiency. I would definitely return just based on past experience with the chain and hope for a better experience overall. read more

Today a group of us visited Mellow Mushroom at 11:30am. We knew that it would be busy due to the Farmers Market happening but at 1:20 we decided to find out why we hadn't received all of our food. We spoke with the owner who rudely gave excuse after excuse throwing all her employees under the bus! She gave us free desserts but refused to give us any kind of discount. At 2pm, and still not receiving our dessert we asked again, a bit more forcefully that we wanted discounts. She told us that the meals were free if that would makes us happy and she wouldn't make any money that day!! I felt horrible for causing a stir, completely understanding how things can happen, but it was not handled well at all! This owner needs to get behind her staff and work on her customer service! We won't be visiting again! :( read more

My wife has been to Mellow Mushroom for lunch twice in the last two weeks and has had nothing but good things to say about the food. However, the daytime hostess was the incredibly standoffish, even rude! The first time my wife arrived a couple of minutes before 11. The hostess looked up and said "Is it 11 already?" When being seated the hostess didn't ask if she preferred a table or booth and just stood by the table as to say that was her table then just walked away. I can understand if she was having a bad day but the same thing happened again on her return visit. Do yourself a favor Mellow Mushroom, find a new hostess, and you'll get five stars. read more

Went here with a buddy right after work. We went to grab some pizza and beers. We each ordered 1 beer, and drank them. We then asked the bartender for another round, and he claimed my buddy was drunk and slurring his words. He then proceeded to cut him off, and would not serve him another beer. It was a very strange situation, since we both had just came from work, and had only drank that 1 beer. Needless to say, we immediately left. Very bizarre situation, and we took our business elsewhere. Pizza was very good, but the service was questionable. read more
