The food was great! The service was unethical. (I can take rude as long as the food is good) The shop was in the middle of a menu change. We got the old menus, and we were charged the new, higher prices. We asked if we could have the old prices, and it was made a way bigger deal than it should have been. Our waitress was cussing at the front register to her friend about the price discrepancy, and when she brought back the check she still hadn't fixed the issue. Been a loyal customer for 5yrs until recently. A few weeks ago came for pizza and beer. Waited close to 2 hours for 2 pizzas and the pizza showed up burned. Waitress had management scrub the pizza price as an apology. Came back a few weeks later. Still 1.5ht wait. The waitress forgot to put in our order. Very disappointed. Went tonight, sat on patio to wait for 20 minutes without anyone even getting my drink order. Yes, same two previous problem waitresses were the same two on the floor working tonight. So disappointed. Also saw two pizza makers without masks since they were working right in front of the glass doors that face patio area. Just gross. Not sure if it's new management or just lack thereof at the moment. Probably will give it 6months and go back. There's usually quick turnover for poor performance of this kind. read more

Food was good. Service was not. Apparently the restaurant has a new menu with higher prices, but they're handing all of the customers the old menus with the lower prices. When the receipt came, we noticed the price discrepancy and asked the waitress (not sure what her name is but the receipt says Carrold on it. This was Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 at 6pm) to honor the old menu prices since that was what we saw. She replied, "are you serious?" and proceeded to talk shit behind the counter to her coworkers. Yeah great job, you just lost your tip. Could've at least been more discreet about your shit talking. Oh, and she didn't even fix the prices. Thanks for nothing. Get your shit together Mellow Mushroom, and give everyone the new menus if you want to charge more. read more

I love going to this location and seeing Maria, the general manager, working her butt off in the kitchen and training and the new kitchen manager they have is been a boss, shaping up the kitchen to be a tight knitted crew. The first time I ordered a pizza without cheese (allergic) from this location, I had to drive from downtown to pick up a remake without cheese since I'd had it delivered through Port City Delivery. At least that time nobody was rude when I called to explain I didn't select cheese under "build your own" and also listed that I have a food allergy under "special instructions". She apologized and gladly offered to have a remake ready by the time I got there. Tonight I ordered the same way except had it delivered through Waitr, and when I called just to let them know that it happened again, she was rude and condescending. She even had the audacity to call me back to say all of their pizzas come with cheese automatically. It's one thing to waste $18 on a pizza you can't eat, but it's downright bad business to call a customer back to argue. They just lost a customer for life that orders 3 pizzas/$75 per order. read more

This place was packed on the Thursday evening I decided to stop by and pick up a to-go order. I called in my order and upon arrival was told to head to the bar to retrieve it. Ordered was a steak and cheese hoagie for myself and a build your own calzone for Donovan P. (comprised of all their premium meats and roasted red bell pepper). The bartender was having a casual conversation with a bar patron but immediately ceased it and greeted me once I walked over. This was a massive plus in my book! Many times I've gone to a bar for cocktails, to pick up a food order or to just eat at the bar and the barkeep usually won't acknowledge me until his/her conversation is completed. This guy rocked! Within the 3-5 minutes I was there he found out I was new to Mobile, lived near the location and asked if we were fully moved in. I explained we were moved in but still living out of boxes. He proceeded to give me additional cutlery, napkins, parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes in case we didn't have any at home. He also offered me a beverage to go because "its hot here" (his words) and in case we didn't have any at home. I declined the soda, but still made a mental note of his level of customer service and genuinely accommodating manner. He also gave me a warm welcome to Mobile and a menu to take with me for future reference. Also, they use spring water to make their dough in-house. How awesome is that? I'm not a huge fan of the atmosphere here. It's right near a major university, so it can get rowdy at night. However, their pizzas are great. I love the crust-- it's so thick, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Crust can make or break a pizza, but Mellow Mushroom's crust is pizza nirvana. Stopped by here after walking out of The Brick Pit around the corner. I am sure glad we did. The beer selection was great, and the waitress even coached us on pouring into the icy glasses to avoid major foam. There were six of us, so we had a nice selection of food. Excellent Hummus and salads! Everyone visits Mellow Mushroom for the pizza which is always great, but recently I had a chance to try the Hummus and Salads for a lunch appointment. Delicious! I've been going here for a few months now. Sometimes I stop in for a beer or three and have a quick pie, and other times I'll get a carry out. The beer selection here is great for Mobile, which is a pretty stunted area for good beer. (No brewery? Please!) I've had about 5 different pies here and a few salads and everything is always good. The house special is one of my favorites. It's always over stuffed with toppings if you're into that. The red potato pizza is good (with or without the sour cream). It's got a really nice atmosphere, a cross between a college dive bar and corner greasy spoon - very homey. The clientele seem to always be in a good mood and the servers and bartenders are knowledgeable and personable. A Mobile gem by the local University. read more

We went there for dinner last night after checking into a hotel on our drive from Vero Beach to Dallas . We REALLY wanted pizza but not Dominoes or Pizza Hut. This place was GREAT! They have and endless selection of unique pizzas and a good selection of draft beers and wine. It has a hipster vibe, but there were lots of different types of people seated and coming and going with take out orders. We were seated outside immediately and our server was great. We WILL go there again the next time we're driving thru Mobile. read more
