OK so I eat here occasionally typically it's on a Sunday afternoon. The only reason I really eat here is because for the rare occasion that I'm craving pizza and I don't want to go an hour away so mellow mushroom is pretty much my only option which kind of sucks. I always get the Meloteranian or that magical mystery tour and add chicken. The chicken is like rubber. I mean come on can't you just have some decent chicken that's fresh and juicy maybe pulled but square chunks of frozen thawed rubbery chicken is crap. The chicken wings are really good because they're crunchy on the outside and then doused in the sauce which is awesome however all of the wings that we ordered the last time we were there, which were flats were all broken, and that's gross. I hope that they step it up just a little bit, some real nice good tasting chicken, And wings that are not broken would be great. read more

Let me preface this by saying that the pizzas here are consistently good quality and good pricing.... the service at this location leaves much to be desired. Coming from Huntsville, I was used to both excellent service and product. Coming here has left me confused... one night will be great and another night will be horrible- depending on the server. Good toppings not a big fan of the crust but there beer selection is great.if your a beer lover it's the perfect place but you have to be drunk to enjoy the pizza.the service is great and the bartenders are very nice especially rose but the bartenders is what keeps me coming back not the food. read more

Pretty standard for a mellow. The place looks great inside and the pizza was fantastic. I got something off the "unique to our location" menu which turned out to also be at my home location. Great place! I always love to eat at Mellow Mushroom. This was my first visit to the Rome location and it was ok. The food was wonderful! It may be cause it's a fairly new Mellow but the pizza here tasted better than any other mellow I've been to! Our service on the other hand wasn't as good as the food. We got sat upstairs Far Away from the bar so it took way long to get beer. Our waitress had to keep going to check what beer they actually had on draft. We were in Rome for the day. It was Jan. 1 and everything was closed for New Year's Day but Mellow Mushroom. We sat at the bar had a beer and sweet tea to watch some football. The staff were nice and attentive. We had a white pizza that was great. It was pretty steady with patrons. Nothing else was open. Plenty of TV's to watch football. We enjoyed our food. Really disappointed with the service at the bar last night. There was plenty of staff available, however, they were not attentive at all. Had a beer and went across the street for dinner. This is not the usual service we receive here and hope it's just a one time deal. UPDATE, went back for the first time on 8/28 and had a much different experience. The bartender (Morgan) addressed us as we sat down, immediately placed drink and food menu in front of us and was engaging and attentive throughout our visit. What an improvement! My family LOVES this place. We just dined here for the first time last month and then again last week. Both times the food was very good. So far we have tried the Mighty Meaty pizza, the pizza with everything on it, and a chicken pizza called something like Mellaterranean (spelling is probably wrong). Also loved the "Lil chef salad." Their "lil" salads are very big too! If you sign up on their app they will send you an email for a free appetizer. We chose the spinach & artichoke dip and it was delicious. The food is always on point. You will get it in a reasonable fashion if you come in for lunch or dinner. For the love of God though, don't come in late and don't sit at the bar. You get ignored painfully and when they can't ignore you they immediately forget what you just said. As always a pleasant visit to the bar/restaurant. Sitting at the bar as usual, the three large screens dialed in to three different football games relaxes the atmosphere and gives one a place to chill and catch a game, or in this case three, while enjoying a bite. I took my seat at the bar and the bartender took my drink order then went to retrieve a menu for me to order. I ordered a Mellowterranean Pizza and watched a few downs of the ball games as i waited for my order, a little longer than normal but the ball games help time go by. I didn't need to ask for refills and my meal was fresh and tasty. I did miss my favorite tender Megan, she Da Best ! I was very unpleased with my visit to Rome Mellow Mushroom tuesday night. Service was horrible, first off our server seemed to busy talking to notice that our drinks were empty, our order came out wrong, and when we asked to speak with the manager our server acted like she was going to get them but no one ever came. I've gone here many times. The food is usually pretty adequate. However, the service has been terrible the last several times we've gone. On one trip, the server didn't bring half of my party's food. They had to take it to go. Another trip, my husband had ordered a drink and never got it until the meal was almond halfway done. On yet another trip, the kitchen staff were VERY loud and throwing food not only across the kitchen, but in the eating area. I do not go here unless I have no other options. read more

Great food, but the waiter was bad. He had noticeably dirty fingernails and lazily leaned against the wall when taking our order. We had to ask for silverware, napkins, and plates because they weren't given to us. When we were done with our appetizer, he kept looking at our table and making eye contact with us, so it was obvious that he knew we were finished. But he never actually cleaned up our pile of dirty napkins and our appetizer tray until right before our entrees came. The same thing happened with our entrees. This was the first Mellow Mushroom I had ever experienced and I've gotta say that this place is awesome. Back when I was a vegetarian this was the only place that served vegetarian-type dishes that weren't bland and boring! Now that I'm more open about the foods I eat I can say that pretty much everything on the menu is great (especially the Beer Club, which my husband is totally a fan of). The atmosphere is always energetic and lively (especially on a weekend when it gets packed!) and the staff is always a pleasure to be around. About a year back my husband and I stopped in to get a few drinks after officially receiving our marriage certificate and the bartender gave everyone at the bar a free round of shots to celebrate. Not only was it a sweet gesture, but everyone at the bar started toasting to us and celebrating even though I didn't know anyone there. This place is a great place to just sit back, hang with friends, meet some really cool people, and watch main street get a little more fantastic. PROS: Delicious food, Beer Club, menu has vegetarian options, great people (staff and patrons), many tv's (if you're into that), great atmosphere. Their mushroom club sandwich is good, the restaurant is somewhat clean not really but it looked clean, the service whatsoever was horrible and very very slow, the only reason I won't go back here again is because of the service, I mean my friend made a mistake of asking for sweet tea instead un-sweet tea and the server start getting an attitude towards us saying he need to pay for two drinks instead of one. I really love mellow mushroom because the food is consistently good. My biggest complaint is the management seems to feel successful enough that they aren't overly concerned with customer service. Part of the vibe is to be so laid back that it can feel like you are a bother as a customer. I hate the fact that they will not take reservations for large parties. I have tried three times in the last two years to reserve for birthday parties with 20+ people and the best advice they can give me each time is to show up 45 minutes early and save the tables myself. Very frustrating!!! Yet, the food is so good I put up with it. Grrr. read more

I've been here a few times for lunch and the pizza was pretty good, however when my friend visited from Atlanta I actually recommended this place because he wanted pizza and to have a few drinks. When we arrived there on a Friday night the place was pretty busy. We sat at the front table and waited nearly 20 minutes without anyone checking on us. Then my friend went to the bar and placed the order there. We left a little after and walked around broad street then decided to go back to the restaraunt since it was one of the only places open that late. This was around 11:30. We sat upstairs since the dining room was full and the servers upstairs were literally looking sideways at us. I made eye contact with one server while she was pointing at us and she was obviously embarrassed because she looked away. Then after 25 minutes of no service one of the servers came to our table and verbatim said "I am trying to be as nice as possible, but you can't sit here. The upstairs is closed." Neither me, my girlfriend or friend had any idea because there was a birthday party going on upstairs at another table and there were no signs up. Then glancing at the other server as we were walking down the stairs she had the most annoyed look on her face. I would've gladly sat wherever was permitted had I known but noone told us anything. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had and embarrassing to say the least since I was showing my friend around rome for the first time. I will never be back. read more

Went there a couple of weeks after the opening of this much famed pizza chain. We have often been to couple of Atlanta locations, so expectations were that food would be in line with the standards we got used to. Not here! Our veggie pizza came very late and very burned. It was surprising to see that they could even serve it! Ok, so it was left on our table in a hurry, and we thought might as well taste it, no surprises, it tasted bad. So we waited for our server to come by and check on us, finally she did and we told her about the state of things. She immediately said I am getting my Manager!! Come on! Ok, so the Manager came in quickly but while trying to fake she was understanding, still hinted that we were being unreal in claiming the pizza is burnt! Why would a customer claim that?? We came in for a pizza, it came burnt, so we need a new one, we do not need a free pizza, or any discount, just get us another pizza and be understanding about it!!!
