The inside space has a open floor plan with bright neon artwork, which gives it a very hippie mushroom vibe. Stuffed crust, thin crust, garlic crust, calzone, which is huge but not gluten free but I'm just happy to have options for me. Service has always been amazing and the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to allergies. They are aware and have a dedicated space in the kitchen for allergies that they make separate from the others so you do not have to worry about cross contamination. The kitchen is also open so you are able to see them as they make it if you were one of those worriers that want to make sure they're doing it right. They also have a full bar with liquor, beers and house wine with a couple TVs throughout the room with sports playing, which makes it a perfect location for pizza, beer in football. Ordered a burger that came with tots. Or at least that is what I thought I ordered. When the food finally arrived, my burger was missing condiments and was served alongside a bag of chips. I asked the waiter about the tots from the menu and he said they were still being prepared but he didn't want me to wait on the burger so he brought chips. This was the most spacious Mellow Mushroom I've seen. It looks really great for big parties and watching the popular sporting events. The pizza was traditional good. Two of us really liked this place, the rest thought it was fine. There is a lot of colorful painting in this place. It's very casual and appeared to accommodate groups quite easily. The cheese bread was delicious. We loved the Holy Shiitake pizzas. The flavors were great. I recommend going with thin crust. My one niece ordered the soft pretzel trio and felt that they were too hard. She ate the inside but not the outside, kids, haha. My mom had the meatball trio. I visited on a Tuesday around lunch time. I did a pick up order for 5 slices and 4 salads. When I arrived the food was not ready so I sat at the bar to wait, which is where I was directed to go for pick up orders. The restaurant was very clean and I really liked the open kitchen concept so you're able to watch as pizzas are being prepared. Lots of indoor seating space and a few tables outside for those not too hot/humid Savannah days. I enjoyed both my pizza and salad, my only issue was the wait was nearly 40 minutes on top of the 25 minutes I was told when I called and placed my order. Mellow Mushroom has always been a favorite pizza chain of mine. Because it never really feels like a chain. This Mellow Mushroom continues that tradition of feeling like its own entity. It is located on Liberty street. There is a parking garage close to it. But parking is available on the street. The restaurant is located next to a few other restaurants: Franklin's & Public Kitchen & Bar. It is also across the street from Soho South Cafe. The restaurant has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. You can bring your furry friend with you and sit outside. They will bring a bowl of water for your dog too. Once you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a plethora of colors. It's so much fun! There is a host stand directly in front of you, kitchen on your right, bar behind the host stand, and seating everywhere else. The seating is an array of tables and banquets. The bathrooms are located in the far left corner. The menu is classic Mellow Mushroom with lots of apps, salads, wings, and pizza options. There are sandwiches and a few other items too. The menu is expansive for a pizza restaurant. And the bar menu is large as well. My husband ordered the barbecue oven wings and individual pizza. I ordered the mushroom soup, a build your own pizza, and a beer. We unfortunately did not have the best server. She was not attentive at all. We only saw her three times. All of the other servers around us helped us more than our actual server did. But in saying that all of those servers were excellent! They were very attentive to us. When I received my soup it was cold and gelatinous in consistency. I'm thinking that was due to the fact that it was cold. Our actual server apologized and asked if I would like it rewarmed? I politely replied, no thank you. She apologized again and did take the soup off of the bill. But I will say my husband really enjoyed his wings. He said they were delicious and hot. Both of our pizzas were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed them. One of the many servers that wasn't our actual server brought me my beer with a chilled glass which a greatly appreciated. Parking is not friendly you will need to found something near the area and it's paid. I built my own pizza with gluten free crust, only comes in small, with vegan cheese. My husband had the meat lovers regular and we grab a veggies with philly sandwich. The pizza was delicious I was very empresses with the gluten/vegan choice. However the Philly was not that great, mind you my sister order and asked to remove most that makes a Philly. They did not charge us for the sandwich. We also order the garlic wings. Cooked to serve. I ate about a quarter of the calzone and there were four pieces of meat that were hard as rock andI couldn't chew them and had to spit them out.
