Ordered the Stromboli-was told by a neighbor how good they were. What a JOKE. Don't order it. Cut in half I tore it open to reveal 2 pieces of pepperoni one small sliver of onion some sauce and very little cheese. Pizza is of decent quality. The girls at the front are friendly. However, the manager (or I'm not sure if he's the co-owner) needs to be more friendly and set an example for the other employees. When I walked in, he didn't greet me or smile. When there was a discount question, he didn't even look at me but talked to the cashier girls directly. Prices used to be reasonable but they have now gone up significantly (even after adjusting for inflation - comparing with other local pizza shops). I heard the owner passed away recently - I remember the management was friendlier back then. Reduce the price and be nice to your paying customers! read more

This place is disgusting. I ordered to-go at 8:30 PM this Sunday evening May 29th 2022. I got home and opened my box of pizza and garlic knots. The garlic knots were so undercooked that it was still dough. The pizza had some weird hair in it. I called and asked to have garlic knots refunded due to 100% inedible and they refused. It's hard to believe that the first time we tried Lovezzola's was Wednesday but I will definitely be back! My family and I went with friends of ours and the staff was quick to set up a table to accommodate us. We were there at about 7pm and the place was pretty quiet, there was one other couple there and while we were eating two other parties/groups came in. There were also plenty of people that came in to pick up take out. The decor is a fairly old school (think Pizza Hut in the 80's) but that was fun and brought back memories. We ordered all together an assortment of calzones and strombolis, and they came out piping hot, made from scratch and fresh. The food was very good, and with each calzone or Stromboli you could customize it with the ingredients you wanted. My family and I are looking forward to visiting again and trying more of the menu. read more

We stopped here for something other than fast food on a long trip. My wife wanted a salad and I had a half size Italian hoagie. The sandwich roll was one of the best I've had and my wife liked her Greek salad. The food was ready right on time - we ordered while we were stuck on 95. This place is an absolute must! We had the garlic bread which was so buttery and light, didn't leave you with a heavy greasy feeling and we also had the mini hamburger and mushroom pizza. Stopped in for takeout pizza while on a road trip. Pizza was great! Note: I am Italian American and VERY hard to please when it comes to pizza! Crust was crispy, pizza sauce was great, cheese excellent quality. Service exceptionally pleasant. Pizzas done in 8 min and arrived hot,hot, hot, right out of the oven. Two 16" happily fed 2 adults and 4 kids with some to take home. Really excellent all the way around. So nice to not have to eat crappy drive through fast food while on a road trip- this was just as fast and 1000x better. (We ate it across the street at Joe Baxter park, at the picnic tables.) A lot of things to love about Lovezolla, and a lot of room for improvement. If a member of the Lovezolla family takes your order and attends to you, it's great. If not, you may be disappointed. There's little consistency. If you are taking out, look at your order before leaving to make sure it is correct. I like the retro look, but also think that something could be done to brighten up the place (and I do think that carpet is nasty, spills happen in a restaurant). The back room is available for the asking, which is great if you need a place for a larger group (sports team, volunteer crew etc). Plenty of parking which is very nice. read more

My husband and I were in Pooler meeting friends from SC We were staying at the laquinta right by this pizza place. Our friends have their dog with them so we ordered pizza to go to take back to our hotel. The pizza was excellent. Tasty crust that seemed to be homemade. My family and I went here during the storm it's the reason for the extra star because still opening during the storm week and placed our order for 3 pizza for the special $6.99 x 2 with one topping and one special vegetarian pizza are very smaller than the average pizza place 12' in $13.99 sorry to say the prices on the menu aren't the correct prices ? I guess this pizza restaurant is for the old locations in Pooler Georgia. It's a mistake to go here for pizzas very disappointed about the food and prices $30.00 plus for very disappointed meal for my family. We use to live in the Pooler area and loved to eat at lovezolas. We moved in1989 and was looking forward to dinner tonight since we were in the area. We had our food delivered since it was late when we got to our hotel room. Was very disappointed after spending $64.00 . garlic knots were not done, spaghetti was bland no flavor, stromboli had no flavor. Was nothing like we remembered it being, Stromboli was not done as well, tasted like dough. Chef salad was good which we shared because everything else was icky. read more

The black mold on the drink machine that has been there forever and the ride owners should shut this latrine down but somehow this place seems to be a permanent stain on pooler and will be until the mold does them in. Terrible greasy pizza! Under baked Raw dough in center of every pie. I grew up on Lovazzola pizza. Back in the day this place was awesome. And when the owner Mr Paul makes the pizza it is great. However last few months the pizzas have been terrible. Raw dough in the center and just greasy. When I brought this to staff's attention all we get is "sorry I don't know what to tell you I just work here." Last night experience was final straw. We ordered a pizza get and upon inspection it's greasy. So much grease that it was soaking thru the bottom of the to go box. Left a huge grease stain on their pick up counter when we picked up the box. Not acceptable. We complained and they blamed the grease on the fact that we had hamburger and extra cheese on the pizza. The dough in the center was paper thin and pure mush. The bottom of the box was literally dripping grease- Disgusting. After complaining further they made us another pie. This time they suggested to "over bake it" it came out the same way. If this was over baked it sure didn't look like it. The dough underneath showed no signs of color from being baked longer. The pizza bone showed no sign of char. The final insult was the fact that this pizza center was also raw dough. Owner's wife informed us that is NY style pizza and normal for Lovazzola pizzas and even told us that we if were not happy after they made us two pizzas then we need to not come back to her restaurant. Even went on to inform us that they never have customer complaints and that we would be happier getting our future pizzas from somewhere else. Sad really sad how far this place has fallen. Lovezolla use to make great pizzas but now, I can make better pies at home. They are actually worst than Domino's now. As to owner's wife telling us they never get any customers complaints, guess they don't read all the negative reviews on this website all recently complaining about the same thing... In a way, this reminds me of Sal's in Durham. It's a pizza buffet, but it also has a separate menu to order your own pizza or some Italian dishes. The buffet has salad, pasta (baked ziti), pasta salads, cinnamon bread, bread sticks, a variety of pizzas and so on. We were greeted promptly upon entering the door, and after a quick look we decided to go with the buffet. We ordered at the counter and then found a place to sit. Food was pretty good for a buffet. Fresh pizza was brought out every few minutes. Drinks were refilled consistently. Service was friendly. A good, inexpensive stop for travelers who do not want to stop at a fast food burger joint. read more

The crust doesn't seem like it's made and tossed fresh, but the sauce and cheese are pretty good. I would prefer this place over Pizza Hut, but it's not as good as papa johns. Absolutely horrendous service and the food was even worse. Way too pricey and the quality of the food is horrible. This is the second time I ordered delivery from this place and they messed up my order again. The subs are bland as can be and the pizza is just plain awful. Elementary school lunchroom pizza is ten times better. As a matter of fact, go down to your local Walmart/Target/supermarket and get the store brand frozen pizza then bring it home and totally mess up baking that pizza at home and that homemade frozen pizza is still better than this place's pizza.
