Expensive but good. This location was a 3-4 minute walk from our hotel. The pizzas were hot and delicious. We ordered pizza, wings, a lemonade and cookies. The only downside was they didn't give us our lemonade but the food was good! The service was pretty cool so I cant complain about anything. My bf and I have recently decided to go on the vegan diet for challenge reasons. We have found that many restraunts have great accommodations when it comes to the vegan diet. We kinda knew going into the diet that we wouldn't have our favorite things such as pizza or spaghetti and meatballs because it just wouldn't be the same. Anyways we came to mellow mushroom on Saturday because well, we heard there is a vegan pizza and we were interested to try it, because mellow mushrooms pizzas are always amazing. We ordered the bruschetta with no feta, and the vegan veg out pizza. The bruschetta was nice, almost lite even with out the garlic butter on top, practically melts in your mouth. The pizza was fantastic too. The vegan cheese was a bit sweet and super smooth as we imagined but it was totally tolerable, as always my favorite part of mellows pizzas is the dough itself and how they get the pizza to be so crispy. I would Definetly order this pizza again, even if I weren't vegan! read more

So awesome that they opened a mellow mushroom downtown! The location is beautiful and right by the river. The cocktails are really good I recommend the jam n juice - and the cloud 9 wings and spinach dip were delicious. The service was amazing, and all of the servers were so kind! My experience was bad enough to leave a yelp review. Basically they only made half of our order and not the pizza. The worst part was that nobody seemed to care that I didn't have my food. The manager never came to apologize. I had to track her down. She said the kitchen was understaffed yet every other order and pizza came out in a timely manner. MULTIPLE tables that came in after us were served their pizzas. We're they just understaffed for my one pizza? Between the manager and the inept waitress, this was just a terrible experience. We just purchased a condo in downtown Wilmington. We visited Mellow Mushroom on N Water St over the weekend for our second time. We enjoy sitting outside and our dog Zen goes everywhere with us. This time we had "Katie" our our wait person. She was pleasant and helpful with menu selections and even got a small bowl of water for Zen. We love Mellow Mushroom's pizza and sitting outside enjoying the river views makes the dining experience really nice. Katie provided excellent service. Kudos to Katie. I would not recommend this place. We waited for over a hour to find out our pizza was supposedly given to another table or possibly never ordered by the waitress depending on whose excuse that we should believe. The waitress never returned to our table after ltaking our order so my wife found the manager and finally got things somewhat resolved. read more

Excellent as usual. I have been to Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta, Durham, and Raleigh, and the food was great at all of them. The one here in Wilmington was no different. Excellent food, even my mom, who doesn't care much for fast food enjoyed the small pieces of my calzone that I let her sample. And she has been telling people all day about the calzone.
