I'm back one year later and it's just as good as I remember it. I have been coming here for years and I love their food! On my most recent visit I switched it up and got the taquito plate which comes with rice and beans. Their rice is a bit different than most of the Mexican restaurants I've been to and in a good way. Some of my favorite other items that I go to are the potato tacos and their hard shell tacos. They have a few tables inside and a few outside but are super big on third party delivery service. I saw so many meals coming in and out so it's a great option for to go. They also have Micheladas there if you want to add a drink to your meal. read more

Come here for the best chicken tostadas and chicken soup. I've been coming to Melodies for several years and every time I go, the taste is the same. It's good to have a Mexican spot not to far with good taste and fresh food. The quality is always good and I never get tired of it. The salpicon tostada is AMAZING. I ordered that all the time, it's reasonable and makes you full. I also order the chicken soup an it's very good and hot with fresh avocados. I need to try their sister restaurant across the street Fuentes asap!! I heard good things about this place too! This was one of my favorite places. It used to be 5 stars. But I went recently and something changed. Are there new owners? I know they closed for a bit, perhaps training new owners and staff?? Either way, my recent visit was passable, but no longer great. Food was just average. Sauces were bland, chile relleno was not fully cooked, guac was not fresh. We got a bunch of stuff to sample: - hard shell tacos (chicken) and taquitos (chicken) - cheese nachos - salad on tostadas (chicken) The shredded chicken is seasoned PERFECTLY I feel like a lot of Mexican places have very bland shredded chicken and then you need a bunch of salsa to make it taste good but this chicken is very well seasoned all by itself. You don't need anything on it if you don't want it. The chicken taquito was so perfect just by itself. The flavor of the tortilla was really nice. There was the slightest hint of sweetness in every bite. It was so limited that it was like a whisper of a flavor but it was just enough to make the taquito sing. The nachos were pretty unremarkable. By the time we got home, the nachos were soggy. Not sure anything could have been done about that since we drove about 15 min after picking up the food. The crunchy taco was similarly delicious like the taquito. The salpicon tostada was really good. It's a chopped salad on top of a tostada. I happened to pull out one of the tostadas that was still really crunchy so that was exciting. It tastes like it has fresh oregano in it. Overall, this was a very delicious meal. read more

My family thinks this is the best Mexican food in the valley. They also own Fuentes and Sol E Luna . I'm not a fan of Fuentes but I do go to sol e Luna often for the best margarita and upscale Mexican in Woodland Hills. Since Covid melody's is hit and miss , from not so good to good. I hope they can return to normal sometime soon. The refried beans are still very good. My chili relleno was good as well. Mom did not love her taquitoes which she always orders and loves in the past. The flan was good but it used to be exceptional. It's small and has as a window to order and used to have an excellent salsa bar before Covid. We sit on the patio with puppy now. I wanted to mention they have the best carnitas I ever had. They are pork that has been cooked the. Deep fried! Outstanding. There's no other way to score a restaurant when you have no choices to add even a small side of salsa so you're forced to add an outrageous $7.20 side of salsa for your 4 tacos... and then THEY DON'T EVEN PUT IT IN THE ORDER! I always love going to Melody's. They have amazing hard shell crunchy tacos and some of the best taquitos around. I love their salsa bar collection and the over all ambience is always light and fun. Some of the negatives about this location is that the parking area is pretty small. It can probably fit only 7 or 8 cars and the dining area is pretty small as well. If you happen to skip the lunch or dinner rushes, it should be no problem. The only other issue that I didn't like here was that their sodas are not refillable. Normally, when you order a fountain soda, you are able to refill for free. Melody's charges for a refill. read more

I'm giving Melody's zero stars. Sincerely I'm just beyond angry with what took place today. I have been going to this place for many many years. Today was the last time. As I read other customers experience something definitely has changed. Their staff is not the same anymore first thing I noticed. The two girls careless that there was people standing there. After more than 10 minutes of the giggling one girl with an earring on her nose took my order. They had a Ribeye state with an enchilada rice and beans. I told her I wanted that one with NO beans and extra rice. Steak medium rare. My mom had the asada plate. My son had the two chicken tacos. I also ordered the grilled chicken plate TO GO. Then I returned to buy chips. When the food arrived my plate did not have extra rice. The steak was over cooked, and laid on stop of a very wet enchilada on the bottom. The whole stead had cheese and over cooked. When I lifted the steak because it looked gross, there was a hair on top of the enchilada. I told the girl, and told the I wanted a carne asada instead .. and that the meat was not and did not look like a ribeye steak. I which I had paid extra for. My sons 2 tacos were two corn tortillas separa plates.. the chicken only and extremely BURNED. They made it. I was already without an appetite and a headache. Then got up and asked for my chicken plate and the girl got nervous, they started chatting and told the took just getting a pan and do it there. Apparently THEY FORGOT TO MAKE IT. the stupid girl didn't come to apologize. When I told the manager everything including the hair issue .. and I just wanted to leave ... and told her how horrible everything had gone she said "oh just a bad day for you". She refunded the plate they forgot to make. They were rushing, not helping with providing boxes or anything. They wanted to leave. This place is soo poorly and trashy now. Better off going to a different Mexican place that is authentic and their customer service is amazing. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE SUCKS. They were rushing because it was almost Closing time. My chicken enchilada lunch was spot on! It's been about a year since I was here & I'm happy to say, the food is still delicious. My enchiladas were stuffed with lots of well seasoned white meat, & the beans & rice perfect as I remember. First time here at Melody 's en route home to the Bay via Burbank Airport. Friend who is driving me choose the location and so glad we came here. Now, I got the plate special which was the taco and enchilada with rice, beans and sour cream in chicken. Plenty of sour cream sitting atop some shredded iceberg lettuce. Not the typical small ice cream scoop like in other places. His wife got the asada steak and they got the chicken tostada for Grandma. A side of extra small size guac. Sorry, forgot to take pictures. You order at the register and get a number so that the food can be brought to your table. There is a salsa toppings bar which pre-covid probably had lots of stuff. Now, there are lemons, cilantro, mild and medium salsa. Our orders came and I am still stuffed 2 hours later. I ate the rice and a bit of the beans. Taco was nice and crispy and white meat chicken was good. The steak looked amazing as it also came with flour tortillas. My friend is super picky so it was refreshing for her NOT to complain and she ate all of the steak! It was cooked to her preference which was medium rare. The tostada salad looked amazing and the bite I had was very nice with a lime dressing. Getting that next time because we will definitely be stopping here when I land AND headed home. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. Is effectient and clean. The clientele all look to be locals which reinforces for me, the authenticity of the food. There is a small parking lot with a driveway you could easily miss so be in the lookout. Please support your local businesses! read more

Sometimes for something quick we'll go to Taco Bell. Never again. You pay more for TB than a plate at Melody's. And the food is so good. The service is really good. You order your food, find a table and soon your food is at your table. The inside is like home and it's very comfortable. I'm due for a trip to Melody's! read more

Food is not good since the mom left. Use to love the salsa and soup for the last 15 years, WEEKLY and spent 53 dollars on 4 soups and 2 salsas Never again. Actual rating: 4.5 Melody's is the place you go to when you don't wanna deal with the parking at Las Fuentes. Because this restaurant is part of that same "family" (which also includes the AMAZING Sol y Luna), and the food here is, as you'd expect it to be, really good. Also, their parking is waaaay better :) So why not 5 stars from me? Well, here's the teeny difference, and it's personal. The two things I get the most from both places are the carne asada soft taco and the carnitas soft taco. The carne asada taco here is cooked the same - so it has all the same delicious flavor- but it's diced up into small pieces... like most carne asada tacos are. But at Las Fuentes, the carne is bigger, more cubed... kinda like lego-sized pieces. And for me, this is out of this world. Ditto the carnitas: here, small pieces, but at Las Fuentes, large chunks. Same delicious flavor at both places, but here, the smaller pieces mean the carnitas has very few (or sometime no) crispy bits. I like my carnitas to be fried (not a given - tons of places do not do this), and at Las Fuentes, they nail it. Melody's is also small on the inside, and sometimes the line to order can be a bit of a drag. But they have an outside patio - Las Fuentes does not. Interestingly, each place seems to have different salsas, each with one I really like. Melody's doesn't have the sublime Molcajete that I love at Las Fuentes, but they do have a rather delicious spicy salsa verde that Fuentes doesn't. But don't take my word for it, the two places are walking distance from each other! So pick a day when your *really* hungry for some Mexican food, and bang bang it :) read more
