    Jumbo Cod Sandwich

We enjoyed Meloni's Lenten specials. Very good service, as usual, and had a very tasty Cod sandwich, fries & cole slaw. We always enjoy the great music & Italian decor; didn't have their delicious Gnocchis this visit due to fish offering for Lent. But will have that super Joe's Sauce next visit - hopefully soon

Old school Italian joint. Prices were very reasonable, food was good, service on point and ambience was definitely old school. Spaghetti and sandwich were decent. Caution, chili has some spice to it.

Yelp reviews are good, and here I am, enjoying a delicious meal at a neighborhood restaurant, run by locals. My favorite kind of restaurant. Parking is easy in a lot next to the building, or on street. An old neon sign over the sidewalk lights the way. An awning covered staircase leads to a small vestibule: the restaurant is on your right. A sign instructs to 'seat yourself'. There are two rooms here. On the left is a dimly lit bar area with booths along the wall. This area was full. On the right is a sunny dining area full of red and white checkered table cloth covered tables. The floor tiles are a bit old, but everything is clean, and the decor includes photos of Italian cities and mural. This side was about half full. So even on a week day lunch, this is a popular spot. Our entrees came with a choice of sides. We both opted for the side salad which is an iceberg mix, tomato, cucumber, chopped beet, black olive and crouton with choice of dressing. The bluecheese dressing is rich and flavorful with lots of cheese chunks. Slices of Italian bread and butter were placed on the table as well. We both ordered soft drinks (coke products), but as mentioned, there is a full bar if you want to add a glass of wine or other adult beverage to your meal. My eggplant parm was delicious. Thick slices of eggplant, cooked medium so they still had a nice texture, deep fried so they have a crispy coating, melted cheese on top and then smothered in a delicious red sauce. The sauce was not too light or heavy, plenty of spices, without being over done. A very tasty sauce. My side was fettuccini with white sauce. This has to be house made, with bits of fresh garlic in there. I was already full, but tried to eat as much of this as I could. Bathrooms are clean. Our waitress (Stephanie) was very good and everyone on staff seems friendly. Very happy we tried Meloni's and would definitely return if we find ourselves nearby again.

Had a surprise birthday dinner there, it was amazing. Fast service, great food, friendly staff, reasonable pricing. Go here for authentic Italian fare!

Worst restaurant meal I had in my 50 years of life! Basically the salad I got was a pile of iceburg lettuce with sandwich meat and fake cheese sliced and put on top, one large olive cut in half, two cherry tomatoes and one boiled egg cut in half with a bunch of croutons. The picture is after I tried to eat it and what I left behind. Our waitress obvoiusly knew the food was bad because she never asked us how it was or asked if I wanted a to-go box. This is obviously a local dive where people come to bs rather than enjoy good food. The next day the made-to-order salad I got from the 24/7/365 gas station was 100x better than this one.

Stopped here on a Sunday evening in an attempt to break up the monotony of the work in the backyard all weekend, still not get done, and limp into ordering pizza. This has been on my bookmarks before everything got locked up- and in the hopes I could get some Italian from out of town- this was perfect. It was exactly what the pictures on here hint at: old-world Italian, place mats, bread baskets and no-nonsense food options. I kicked around the idea of getting two things but pizza wasn't on the menu so I went with the tried and true chicken parmigiana. We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer, and our entrees came with salad and bread. The salad was good - odd cubes beets in the salad which at first I was apprehensive about but they didn't have a taste and I was so hungry after skipping lunch that it didn't matter at all. The bread felt on the older side, but I killed about 5 baskets so it was good. As for the bruschetta it came out hot which - usually isn't how it is prepared but it was still very good. The balsamic on the side was a nice dipping sauce rather than a drizzle - and after I inhaled it into my hose thru my mouth, began choking and had the whole restaurant on high alert, I really liked it even with the melted cheese. My chicken parm was very good though I order angel hair and bc it was on the overcooked side was one big pile. Al dente probably is my go to. The chicken was breaded perfectly and the red sauce was more of the purée format which was good even though I usually prefer some chunks in there. I would put it in the top 10 chicken Parms I have had. For dessert we split a cannoli and cheesecake (I skipped lunch 'member?) which both were insanely good. Not just the owner at the end of the bar reading the paper, saying high and knowing everyone by name, as well as thanking anyone who came in, but just everything together you can tell this Italian spot is all Italian and the place to go. Really liked it. A lot. Will be back.

We also noticed many diners seemed to have a good relationship with servers. This gave us a feeling of comfort knowing diners obviously were happy at this restaurant. Our dinners started with a salad or cup of soup. Once our dinners arrived we knew we were in trouble because there was a lot in each bowl. Please come hungry. Both dinners were very tasty. We'd recommend this restaurant.

Our server was very nice, but the service was a lot slower than we expected. Fifteen minutes for an appetizer, another ten for salads then dinner thirty minutes later. The food we ordered was very different from what we received. I ordered a pasta with artichoke, mushroom and lemon sauce. It came with no mushrooms, but chopped zucchini, which was overcooked. I was incredibly disappointed. My fiance ordered veal marsala. His dish was extremely overcooked and flavorless. We were very confused because the veal was very tough and tasted like a pork chop..He took a bite or two and couldn't finish the dish. We weren't offered refills on our wine or dessert. We were very disappointed that the dinner was very expensive and the food we could of easily made at home. When it came time for us to cash out, our server was nowhere to be found. Since we hired a sitter, we had to go to the hostess podium to pay so as not to be waiting any longer to leave. It was an awful experience.

Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side.
