Loved my experience at Melrose Hotel. The staff is superb from Lizbeth at the front desk to Joe at the valet. Facilities are awesome. Rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. Quiet hotel and free internet. Great working desk. Well-kept common areas. Location in the Georgetown area has many walking distance places. Valet parking (only option to park) is on par with any other valet place in Washington DC at $70 daily; but it is the most convenient way. It's totally worth it for the in and out privileges It's one of my favorite hotels in DC now.

I was excited to stay in an historic boutique hotel in Georgetown, but too many things went wrong to give it more than 2 stars. I was there for a multi-day meeting in the lower lobby. Checkin was pleasant. This is an old hotel so the elevators are a bit cramped. No big deal. There is coffee service in the morning in the lobby close to the elevators. The coffee was good. My room was large and nicely appointed. A Lavazza coffee machine and a refrigerator were nice touches. Most hotels have movie channels included, but but not here. Just a small number of TV channels. The grout in the bathroom needs some serious cleaning. I forgot to take a photo. The shower was strong, but only pumped out warm water. I notified the front desk after the first morning and it seems like if you shower at 7AM you cannot get hot water. That never got fixed. After waking up the first morning I noticed it was cold in the room. I reported the cold room to the front desk and they said it would be taken care of. It wasn't. I had to report the issue the second morning and they finally brought me a space heater. We had a large group meeting in the Potomac rooms. The meeting room was freezing and it took quite some time to get the "engineers" to fix the cold air blowing. Meanwhile we all wore coats. I checked out the hotel restaurant menu, but could not afford the outrageous prices. An egg was $8 and toast $5.50. Sodas are $5. Breakfast was not included in the room rate. There is a nice alcove in the room with a desk. But I think it's furnished to write pen and paper letters like in the 1900s. The chair is too short to use a computer and the glass top will not work with an optical mouse. The workout room is good and old. I did enjoy the Peloton bikes. But the rest of the equipment was really old and had ancient iPhone connectors. They were supposed to have TV, but none of them worked. The last evening of my stay the fire alarm went off and we all took the long journey down the stairs. Seems it was a short in the laundry room. The last day of my stay the power went out in my room as I was getting ready to go to my meeting.

I had an overnight stay at Melrose Georgetown Hotel. Overall, it was a decent stay in a nice area close to restaurants. The room was a decent size. A few things in my room were a little out dated but nothing to say the room was bad. Something interesting was how big the closet was. It really was quite spacious which may be a benefit if you want to put your luggage in a space to declutter. Probably a pro for families. Downstairs has a nice bar, and I believe a restaurant. Unfortunately, I was unable to check them both out.

stayed there for 3 nights during my trip to DC. 4.5 stars would be most accurate. In general the experience was satisfactory. The hotel is itself a historic building (marked as a historic site actually) with classical designs. You can also experience this in guest rooms. For my stay, it undoubtedly met my standard expectations including nice front desk, spacious room, daily housekeeping service and a good fitness room (though not large). There are also some surprises. One is the design I mentioned above; another one is that instead of water, they provided fruit water in lobby (still you can get pure water in e.g. the fitness room). Moreover, its location is perfect, at least for sightseeing! It is about 5 min walk from Georgetown, 12 min walk from White House, 4 min run from Georgetown Waterfront Park, and there are several bus stops and trail stations nearby. It also has a restaurant which serves breakfast lunch dinner but due to time limit I did not have a try. Some suggested improvements: 1. The hotel had better add a room key-access system to the elevator to protect guest safety. 2. Would appreciate it if there were a self-service laundry. Still, considering all the factors it would definitely be one of my choices for staying in DC next time!

This is now my favorite hotel in DC after many Family visits and college tours here in the past. It is a historic hotel with a unique interior design that combined rich american history and modern decor throughout the hotel. In our one bedroom suite, I particularly love the writing area with "We the People" theme, and a super comfy mattress and fluffy pillows for a great night sleep. The service was attentive especially when Geo turned back and checked us in right away when he saw us walking toward the desk (he was on his way to lunch in the lobby). Thank You Geo!

Our stay at Melrose was AMAZING. Their exterior design was super decorative and fancy. The service was extremely amicable, as were the valet (Sam Juan, to be specific)! * Due to covid, their bar was off-limits but the location was perfectly-aligned with delicious spots to eat and drink around! We could definitely enjoy our stay and explore the ins and outs of D.C., thoroughly. Looking to come back and stay here again! * The aesthetics of inside were just ball-dropping. I attached a few pictures to show off how ~neat~ the decor was.

This property gets a strong rating for a few reasons. It is close to the White House and other tourist areas on Pennsylvania Avenue. It is old-school luxury with Bellman that will take your luggage all the way to your room. THE PROS It has a comfy lobby that is a great hang out with a fireplace, bar, restaurant and business center. The front desk usually has some sweet treats but this trip they didn't have any. They also have fruit infused water all day and in the morning coffee and tea with my favorite tea mighty leaf. The rooms are a nice size with comfy beds, refrigerator, dish network TV, robes and slippers and great shower gel and loofah. For those who like to keep active and stay in shape even while traveling their gym is equipped with one bike three treadmills weights three ellipticals and the bonus is they have two peloton bikes! A FEW MISSES There is a set of stairs to get from the check-in desk to the elevator so you have to drag your luggage up those stairs. Sometimes there may be a bellman there to assist. Elevators are very small. My bathroom area had a very very small counterspace. There were no towel racks near the sink to hang my washcloth. I was missing slippers this trip. Overall this is a good place to stay and you should enjoy your time here.

If you have the opportunity to catch one of these evenings, it is absolutely worth the effort. I arrived early and stopped at Off the Record for a drink before heading upstairs. The bartender mentioned that this event also helps provide additional hours for staff during the slower month of August, which made me appreciate the concept even more. The Top of the Hay itself is stunning. The views and setting are exactly what you would expect from such an iconic DC property, and getting to experience a space that is typically reserved for private events made the evening feel particularly special. The drinks were also excellent. Sweet, but not overly sweet. But what really stood out was the staff. I do not say this lightly. The service was outstanding. I genuinely wish I had caught everyone's names because anyone working between roughly 4:30 and 7:30 that evening in the lobby, Off the Record, or Top of the Hay deserves recognition and a raise! Every person I interacted with was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. What impressed me most was that the staff remembered my schedule for the evening and made sure I left Off the Record at exactly the right time so I could be the first person to step into Top of the Hay when it opened. That level of attention to detail is rare. Beautiful space, great drinks, and truly exceptional hospitality. "Be Gin the Evening" is such a clever way to let locals and visitors experience a part of The Hay Adams they otherwise might never see. I would absolutely do it again.

For the rates they charge, the conditions and service are unacceptable. The building is old, heavily dated, and features cheap fixings. The bathroom is tiny, featuring a cramped round sink with virtually zero counter space to set down any personal items. Furthermore, for a five-star hotel, lacking a proper hot tub and standalone shower is unacceptable. The towels provided are cheap, rough, and feel entirely out of place at this price point. The bathroom ventilation is so old and loud, that I can't even believe it's there. No fridge in the room, only a mini bar that will charge you if you move around mini bar items to place your own drinks. The view of the White House was severely misadvertised. To actually see it, you are required to pay an extra $700 on top of an already steep $600-per-night room rate. The acoustic insulation is non-existent. If anyone is staying in the room above you, forget about sleeping--every single footstep and movement carries straight through. The front desk staff was entirely dismissive. After promising to switch our room to resolve our issues, they dragged us through three separate attempts, wasted hours of our time with non-responsive answers, and then finally demanded we pay even more money to fix their mistake. After we went through, not even a complimentary breakfast or really anything. Shocked that this place is more expensive than Four Seasons, St. Regents, and the kind. This is barely a three star hotel (except location of course). Stay away.

The turndown service was a lovely touch, and everything in the room was perfect throughout my stay. Safety: The hotel elevators felt extremely secure and high-tech. Cereal, breads, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, juice and probably more. They had a lot of of options for even picky eaters. The buffet was clean and well stocked. When we came back from our event, we were harried to check out but the front desk staff was patience and gracious. We were able to sit in the nice lobby, with free wifi, and have a hot coffee. I highly recommend this hotel for its location, amenities and excellent customer service.

Other than the amazing rooms and beautiful lobby, this hotel has some of the best customer service I have experienced. The staff has been more than respectful and polite; they go above and beyond what is expected to ensure that guests are taken care of. I specifically wanted to shout out The Concierge Noboa, who has set a new gold standard of hospitality and has ensured a customer for life.

Complimentary champagne (Veuve cliquot yellow label) was provided. You get to select one tea and each person gets their own pot. - Picked cherry blossom green tea; enjoyed the floral taste. There was a variety of savory and sweet bites. - My top savory ones: crab beignet & chicken cherryaki - unique/delicious - confit duck was ok, brisket corn roll was my least favorite - Scones: liked the black sesame caramel more than lychee rose (can eat without any jam or curd) - the black sesame scone paired well with the cherry blossom jam/Devonshire cream/yuzu mint curd - Sweets: faves were yuzu strawberry tea cake, hojicha cherry opera torte, & Sakura rice shortbread - matcha tartremet & Sakura yokan were ok The snacks were super filling! Left the hotel feeling super full. I hope to experience another afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria!
