Embassy Row had surpassed my expectations right when we walked through the doors. The décor is super chic and elegant making this a warm and a lovely boutique hotel, my kind of style. Being an Expedia Gold Member, I was able to take advantage of the VIP rewards and the manager Lyle generously upgraded our room. Our room was gorgeous with a city view, I loved everything about it, the color scheme, the bed, the bathroom, all of it. Our stay was very comfortable, they made us feel completely at home and we even took advantage of their happy hour before we headed for the rest of our day. To top it off, right as we're leaving the lobby, we noticed an employee making fresh popcorn in one of those old school popcorn stands. We immediately grabbed a cute little bag and got a huge scoop of popcorn for our train ride. Score! Aside from the inside of the hotel, it is conveniently located in Dupont Circle, so close to the metro station, down the street from a CVS and restaurants. They even had a farmers market going on right next to the hotel on Sunday morning. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, a very comfortable stay in my books. We checked in at this hotel because it was near the embassies and we attended a gala at the Italian embassy which was a mile away, easily walkable on a straight line on Mass. Ave. We uber instead for 7.98 each way. Hotel has own garage and we valet parked. The attendant was nice. The reception area was clean and nicely appointed. The guest service staff was friendly and checked us in smoothly, got our keys to a room with a view overlooking Mass.Ave and across the Fairfax hotel. The room was tastefully decorated and clean. The bathroom was very small and this was the only thing if I would nit pick one. Overall, the hotel was an excellent choice. I would probably stay here again, get the suite for my hubby's birthday soon read more

I was looking forward to staying in this hotel because of the decor and how clean it appeared in the pictures. Once I entered our room though I realized the decor is really the equivalent of a bandaid over a wound. Firstly, they are doing some renovations to the Lobby so you enter in through the garage. Okay, fine. But once inside the room we saw a very small bathroom with a rusted door and mirror. As part of the door was chipped, we could see that they clearly just painted over what was less appealing. The hinges were completed rusted. The bed? Very uncomfortable. There is no microwave or refrigerator in these rooms. Housekeeping? We never saw a house keeper at all. So when we ran out of towels and no one was at the desk at night, that was it. Seeing as how they are renovating the lobby, hopefully the rooms are next. They have a screen over the COVID desk for precaution due to COVID and a contactless checkout. However, none of the sanitizing stations are touch-less. read more

The Embassy Row Hotel bridges the gap between the classy tourist wanting to stay in a cool spot in the city and the long time local DC resident. As the latter, I can only judge the hotel based on their rooftop. It's one of the best in the city where you can see all the DC landmarks and look down on dozens of embassies and mansions in Dupont Circle. For locals, you can buy a pass to their roof top pool complete with all the amenities including an excellent bar serving up beer, wine, cocktails, and frozen cocktails (I recommend the Exotic Kiss if you like sweet fruity drinks). The reason is staying here for five nights for a combination of business and leisure trip. Hotel location is absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend staying in this neighborhood, and I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The front desk staff was amazing. When I asked about how to use the DC metro, Wanda at the front desk handed me a MetroCard that she had received and it already had some money on it. Everyone after the reception desk was wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The Wi-Fi worked really well and we even watched a movie one night which is unusual for us. So the TV was great. I used the workout facilities one evening, and I was so glad they had such high-quality treadmills and elliptical machines. The fitness center had nice touches such as music, a water machine, and towels. We did find a few hairs on the towels and the shower curtain needs to be replaced, but even with that said, we would stay here again for sure! read more

I absolutely adore this hotel! Not only is it conveniently located right off of Dupont Circle, it is such a cute hotel with a great rooftop pool. The staff were super helpful, I have stayed here as a guest and been here at an event, and both times I was wow'ed. The rooms are spacious (which isn't always the case in the city!) and modern. I booked this hotel due to its prime location near a venue in DuPont Circle my company was hosting an event at. The reservation was made the same day a few hours prior to our checkin via the Hotel Tonight app. We got a great price and the taxes / surcharges were clearly laid out. We knew we would only be staying the night and wouldn't be able to take advantage of the touted amenities, so the surcharge was a little bit of a bummer. When we arrived, the lobby was nice and bright and there was an attendant leaning on the counter chatting with the greeter. We were welcomed immediately and checkin was a breeze. Our reservation didn't show up right away until we mentioned the booking app, at which point they found it in their system. The rooms look JUST LIKE THEIR PICTURES. So I was very pleased to be actually getting what was advertised. Bed was a little firm for my liking but the overall experience was positive. I would definitely book again. read more

My first visit to the city was way back in 1989 when I was a teen with my mommy. The second time was back in 2011 for just a couple of hours as my spouse and I took a train down from Philly to visit family, took in one museum, then headed back. Third time is a charm as we had a few days to explore, eat, and enjoy. LOCATION: The hotel is conveniently located near Dupont Circle, and right next to a Metro station of the same name. There were a lot of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, along with world embassies as the name implies. ATMOSPHERE: The part of Massachusetts Avenue the hotel is on was fairly quiet and not a very busy road. The red brick driveway entry houses the valet area and parking garage below the hotel. A small staircase greets you as you enter at a split level elevation. There's no ramp for wheelchairs or wheeling your luggage but an elevator is available. Oddly no bell staff were present. At the top of the stairs is the main lobby featuring the ballroom, registration desk, and the Station Kitchen which is the hotel's main restaurant, lounge, and coffee bar. The decor is fun and trendy, with smooth house tunes piped in. We checked out the rooftop bar that had a fun set up with a swimming pool and floor games, with nice views of the city. Cool art work adorns the walls in various public spaces, so definitely go exploring. ROOM: Our room was clean and spacious with a really strong a/c, comfortable king size bed, and had a view of the Indonesian Embassy across the street. Outlets were abound for the device charging needs of today. The noise level of hard-closing doors from neighboring rooms was a bit thunderous. AMENITIES: WiFi, a flat HDTV, safe, coffee machine, and an iron & ironing board. Ice machines were on the 4th & 7th floors. BATHROOM: The look is modern and chic, with a single basin and shower/tub. Hot water was instantaneous and plentiful. Shower pressure was low so drainage was good. The Nest brand of bath amenities had a nice, subtle scent. SERVICE: Check in and check out was quick and easy. Totally decent stay in a great location! The decor is stunning in the lobby, bar area, and guest rooms. It wasn't quite pool weather so I didn't venture up to the pool but that looks gorgeous from photos as well. Our room was small and comfortable enough. Our rate was discounted (who knew I had expedia points?) but there's a lot of upselling at every turn for pretty standard things that most other hotels offer complimentary when available. We arrived a couple hours before check in and were offered early check in at extra cost, though we turned that down in favor of wandering the city. Same situation with late checkout at an upcharge - that one I understand more than a fee for early check in. There's also a daily amenities fee on top of the regular room rate. Overall, seems like a pretty standard boutique style hotel with some truly beautiful decor. I feel pretty neutral about the whole experience - a comfortable spot for a one night stay, but not sure I'd rush back. read more

I've had issues from day 1 when I came to the hotel. When I booked the room I never received a email confirmation. FIRST BIG FLAG: So I called them to confirm and the woman said that they converted to a new system but that as long as I had my confirmation number everything would be good. I get to the hotel around 3:30 and of course the front desk people were so confused that my reservation wasn't there. They asked me if I checked into the Embassy Row Fairfax not Embassy Row and I'm thinking...."DO I LOOK INCOMPETENT AND DUMB TO YOU?" No. I booked through YOUR WEBSITE and showed the screenshots I took of the final receipt since I never got an email confirmation. NEXT RED FLAG: I came in on Saturday around 3:30 to be "helped" by an older black gentleman who needs to be reprimanded for lying to a customer and for completely lack of professionalism. First of all, from my reservation I booked a 2 bed room because 3 people including myself would be using the room. So I got a double delux room. He gave me a 1 bed room (LOL) so I had to make my way down from the 6th floor with all my luggage just to be told that I only booked a 1 bed room. I showed him those screenshots again, and said no, it was for a 2 bed room. With no apology at all he said "Fine, I'll give you a 2 bed room if that is what you want." It is what I want because it was what I ORIGINALLY PAID FOR. He gave us a new room key for room 612 which was right next to the original room that he gave us. THIRD RED FLAG: Go up again, to find that the room key does not work. At this point I was pretty irate and to not only have to go back down again and be told "Sorry, it was for the 5th floor not the 6th floor" by a different woman because the man was busy checking in someone else. No apology for writing down the WRONG ROOM. I had to come back down 2 times and be treated with no respect. And on top of all this I was lied to about my room charge. He blatantly told me my room was $209 because of this $50 deposit. Me, tired of everything, believed this f-ing fraud. FOURTH RED FLAG: I check out the next day to see my credit card was charged an extra $30 for no reason. So I was charged almost $250 for a one night stay when it should have been $159 based on the original charge when I booked the room on THEIR WEBSITE. Not through a third party, but through their OWN WEBSITE. I call the hotel to see what is going on and to be told that my room rate was $209 and that the additional $30 was the taxes and fees. I stated I have screenshots of my original booking on their website that shows that the room rate I was given was $139 with special winter parking with the taxes and fees around $20 and the final bill to be $159.78. But no, I was lied to by the front desk man and told that I was charged $209 that included the $50 deposit and that that charge would go away so I would only be charged $159.78. This whole ordeal was not worth and frankly disgusting. I was blatantly lied to and overcharged, and thankfully I was given a refund back but not down to the original $159. So based off of everyone's positive reviews, I had high hopes for this hotel, but I will NEVER PATRON THIS HOTEL AGAIN. UPDATE: I FINALLY REACHED SOMEONE. Tim Heo, kindly returned my call and gave me a refund to the correct amount of $159.78. But, this does not change how bad of a service I was given, so If you want to undergo a major credit card scam that this hotel tried to pull on me be my guest. Or just don't. Came to check out DC and decided to stay here due to they allow pets with no extra charge. But we ended up not bringing our puppy. We still stayed here, arrived at 11pm. No clue on what to expect. The rooms are nice, though a little chilly with the little amount of blankets they give. They have good food and drinks. They have an awesome game room! Close to many things. Embassy Row Hotel is a newly renovated and chic hotel right in the heart of DuPont Circle. Embassy Row is so centrally located that depending on what room your staying, you might be treated to a view of DuPont Circle or some other beautiful landmark in the area. My stay at Embassy Row Hotel was last minute because I originally booked the Capital Hill Hyatt for two nights but I found myself needing to stay a third night and thus my change. Now, Embassy Row Hotel is no doubt, a great place to reside while in DC. The rooms are newly renovated and so you can't go wrong. The staff is very friendly, attentive and professional. However, I feel an ingredient was missing. I've stayed at many hotels and I must admit I walk in with an expectation of unified front of excellence because that's what hospitality means to me. Now back to the staff, as I mentioned, the staff was good but after a few minutes, I got the sense that the few staffers weren't operations form a common vision or focus. It's had to describe but I would have liked to have seen a unified wave of welcome if you will. Similar to what you get when you board a cruise ship; everyone speaking and acting out the vision of the hotel. It should be something your feel upon arrival. Again, the gentleman who checked me in was nice but it appeared that everyone else was distant or distracted. On another not, I did have the opportunity to have a bite to eat in the beautifully appointed dining area. However, that was after being told rather rudely, we are not a restaurant. I'm not sharing this to get anyone in trouble but to point out that - that bit of information was totally unnecessary. My focus would have been to promote what you do offer instead of what you don't. That particular morning, I saw the manager walking around making sure things were going well, I only wish he had stopped at my table to say hello and to get a feel for my comfort/satisfaction. On another note, my breakfast was excellent and the tall man serving me was a delight! I want to point out two other things that made my trip less then perfect. When I called to make my reservation, I was told there was a difference between a standard room and the Ambassador rooms. I was told the Ambassador room would have a view and when I arrived to my room, I was disappointed to see that the view I was lead to believe I would have, ended up being a view into the rooms of other guest. So, please make sure you confirm with the front desk before going to your room. Another thing that troubled me was the lack of accessibility of the rooftop. As a guest, I wanted so desperately to experience the beauty of the rooftop but due to radio station Hot90 whatever it's called, I was not able to. The following day, there was another private party and even then, there was no guarantee that I would be able to enjoy it when it ended. Honestly, Embassy Row is a great hotel and I'm not going to take it off my list but I will say, make sure your expectations are met. If I received a courtesy call from the front desk asking if things were ok, I probably would have mentioned a few things but never the less, perhaps next time. read more

I will say the customer service lacks a bit at this hotel. The gentleman who checked me in wasn't very friendly and no one went out of their way the entire 2 day stay to say hello or good morning EXCEPT for the maids I saw as I exited my room. Even the valet men were very to themselves. Perhaps, it's a DC thing. The customer service sucked in DC pretty much everywhere I went. If you book this hotel know two things: 1) There is no free breakfast. They only provide you with a voucher for a free coffee at their super overpriced cafe downstairs. I don't drink coffee so this didn't help me. 2) There is no mini fridge in the room. Although you can rent one for a fee. This was pretty disappointing. Overall though, I absolutely loved my room and didn't want to leave! I was up on the 6th floor with THE BEST VIEW anyone could ask for of Embassy Row. If I'm ever in DC again I would come back because of how wonderful the rooms are not the staff. read more

Attended an event on the rooftop and it was great! It began at 6pm, which was a challenge commuting from the Baltimore area, but we made good time and arrived shortly after it began. The front desk staff were pleasant and we were directed to take the elevators from the main lobby to the 9th floor. Once exiting them, we had to walk up two small flights of stairs to reach the rooftop. We passed the main rooftop area, which had its regular happy hour in progress, and made our way to an area just to the side, where my event was in full swing. There were appetizers, nice bar area and a cupcake table. The service was top notch. The view from the rooftop was nice. All in all a wonderful evening for a great event. I will strongly consider visiting the Embassy Row Hotel for their happy hour and maybe a weekend stay as well. Valet parking was available (and I strongly encourage it) for$15 after 5 pm, which was a bargain for the D.C. area, but we had our ticket validated at the event (and again at the front desk just to be sure) so we paid nothing! Came here on a Sunday afternoon to check out the rooftop pool through an event found on Eventbrite. Buy a $45 ticket to get access to the pool top and have bottomless mimosas. Not a bad deal when the weather is nice. I think it is typically $30 for access but you don't get the bottomless mimosas. You will have to buy them yourself. To my understanding, this is one of the only rooftop pools in the Dupont Circle area. The view from upstairs is stunning! If you're looking for something fun to do this summer in the DC area, you should at least consider this place. read more

I really wanted to love this hotel. We paid over $350 for our room (the Ambassador Suite). The valet parking is $45 with tax (so add that to your bill). There is also an amenities charge of $21 per day. They really want to cha ching you. Here is where it started go down hill- the A/C in the actual hotel was broken (rooms were fine) but you could not walk anywhere in the hotel without breaking a sweat as it was 109 with heat index outside. Our room had no room number- so we went to where it should be but no room number at the end of the hall..............turned out you had go through that door to get to the small hallway with our room. Had a maid not been there we would not have known. Our room's A/C was leaking so bad from the ceiling that the carpet was actually wet. The leak was right in the doorway to the bathroom so it is not like there was a way to avoid it. All night- all you heard was drip, drip, drip, drip. As for the pool it was suppose to be only hotel guests because it was a special event. Not all of the them were hotel guests. People were calling their friends and getting arm bands for them. One group had 9 people there and they played their own music through their portable speaker in contrast to what the pool deck was playing. They also proceeded to start smoking as well. The staff did nothing. Avoid getting anything to drink up there. You ask for a coke and you are poured HALF of a mini coke can. HALF! The underground playground consists of foos ball table, air hockey table, and a ping pong table. The paddles for the ping pong table have their rubber all falling off, and the air hockey table is damaged so badly on it's bottom edge that the puck gets stuck when it hits the wall instead of bouncing off. Since there was no A/C and even when it was fixed in the evening it was like being in a sauna. You can't stay down there longer than 10 minutes. I can honestly say they should be ashamed of themselves for charging what they did and the disrepair we experienced. We will look elsewhere in the future when it comes to DC. read more

LOVED STAYING AT THE EMBASSY ROW HOTEL for a week!! The valet parking staff was greeting us and he was very kind and friendly when we arrived at the hotel parking lot entrance. He helped carrying all the luggages and dog crates to our room. We picked this hotel because we had two dogs with us and this hotel was dog friendly! Lobby area was very clean and nice. Our room had a king sized bed and thought the room was a little small for four of us but it was fine. Room temperature was great while staying. Rooftop had a small swimming pool which was very nice to hang out!(9am-4pm) Loved the 24/7 gym as well! We enjoyed playing ping pong for a bit one day:) All the staff were friendly, kind, and very helpful! Our dogs loved staying there as well. They were sleeping well, eating well, and were enjoying walking around the area every day while we were staying! (I know it sounds normal for dogs but sometimes dogs don't eat for a while when they aren't comfortable) I really enjoyed walking around the area with my dogs. There's a dog park called "S Street Dog Park" in less than a mile which was very nice to visit! Dupont Circle was nice to walk as well! The location was on point! We were able to drive anywhere we want at anytime(valet parking staff were all super nice) or were able to use transportations whenever we needed to! It was just awesome! The coffee at the lobby cafe was good, too!!!!!(Their coffee cup was made out of plant..lol thumbs up!!) Oh..only one thing that we were unhappy about was the refrigerator! I'm not sure if it was just our room but we didn't have one so it was uncomfortable. We couldn't keep any leftovers so we had to throw them away. Very nice hotel near all the embassies. Close to the rail station and numerous buses. Also near dining, shopping, parks and delis. There's a lift to the side of the stairs. The lobby is beautifully designed with a place to eat/bar. Even a pool table and popcorn machine. In the front is a patio with outlets built into the seating. Lovely hotel staff who are helpful with tourism info. Our room was nice, clean, nice decor. We didn't have a view but there is a rooftop pool with lounge areas. This hotel failed some of the very basics on my personal checklist: -Very little surface area (especially in the bathroom) -Tiny shower -WiFi so slow as to be unusable (had to use my phone as a hotspot) -Very dark rooms with insufficient lighting -Thermostat that only goes on one mode (heat didn't seem to work) -No water in the room. Not complementary, not that you could buy. -Hidden fees. $20/day amenity fee added to the bill to cover access to business center, gym, use of the unusable WiFi, etc. no option to opt out. We had the warmest welcome from Chester, Lyle, and Ahlem! What a great first impression for Washington DC:) The check in process was efficient, pleasant, and delightful. We felt at home right away. The hospitality business has become kind of a hit and miss, so it is always wonderful to encounter great service. I am super happy with how customer centric these 3 employees are. I've been to the Embassy Row Hotel on several occasions for events and to grab drinks at the bar but this past weekend was the first time I ever stayed here. I was surprised they don't have mini-bars in the rooms here. We had a nice view of the Portuguese and Indonesian embassies and the room was pretty nice. I was able to book the room for under $100 on Saturday (taxes included) which was great. Parking overnight at the hotel will run you $48. Overall, my gf and I had a good experience and I'd definitely return. read more

Booked this hotel for Mother's day weekend as we were seeing a play at Synetic theatre close by in Arlington. Mom and I were impressed the moment we walked in. The lobby decor was inviting but very eclectic and captured our attention right away. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, I booked through Expedia and check-in was a breeze! The room: My mom was obsessed with the room, we had a street view, overlooking the beautiful homes opposite the street. The hotel is located in Dupont Circle, and I'm not familiar with the DC area, but I was told that this is a prime location. The bathroom was modern, simple and small. We had two double beds didn't feel cramped at all. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. Included in the room were also ironing necessities, a Large flat screen and a safe. Room temperature was comfortable, and completely adjustable. The ambiance: It's a boutique hotel so you def get a one-of-a-kind feel. They have a café and bar in the lobby if you're craving a latte or glass of wine. The rooftop pool and bar is also super dope and overlooks Dupont circle as well. The rooftop is decorated with brightly colored seating and the bar is definitely a welcomed addition. I would book this place every time I come to DC. read more

What more can I say? This hotel was a fantastic stay during my weekend visit. I booked an impromptu trip to DC and found this hotel on Travelocity. Did a quick review search and was sold on the reviews and decor alone. It's in a great location, walking distance to many stores/restaurants and if you have a car it's also easy to accomodate on the street. Upon arrival we were greeted at the car as the bell man assisted with our luggage with no hesitation. Considering how cold DC is, the warm heat hits you as soon as you walk in the door. I almost felt at home. Check in/out was extremely easy. We were given the keys, WIFI code and directions to our room. The room is very beautiful but please note, if more than 2 people are in a room it can be quite tight! We didn't have a street view so our view was the inner circle of other hotel rooms. The room contained 2 full-size beds, flat screen TV, gorgeous decor, chairs, a desk & coffee maker. I know most hotels are doing away with microwaves but at least a refrigerator would have been nice. The other concern is in using the bathroom is the sink seems to clog up pretty quickly. I noticed this same issue was mentioned in a previous review but I didn't feel the need to notify front desk staff because it was already addressed. There is also no ventilation so after hot showers, crack the door or open the window for extra air. One night I went down for a drink and bite to eat. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful in mixing up my drink. I would've loved to sit outside but it was entirely too cold. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn't mind staying here again, especially in the summer to take advantage of the other amenities and rooftop pool. Overall, great hotel stay! read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the Embassy Row Hotel. I originally planned to stay at an Airbnb for my duration in DC but they had to cancel last minute which left me stranded. I saw the Embassy Row on group for about half off and decided to try it out. Overall everything was great! I thought the interior decor was unique but tasteful. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly and the valet was simple. I would consider staying here in the future! read more

This is a decent hotel near Embassy Row as the name indicates. The hotel bar is serviceable as well. My big issue is the heat. I stayed here for a conference and multiple colleagues mentioned issues with the heat in their room. The rooms face an interval courtyard which was filled with snow - winter- but clearly the windows are not insulated. I turned up my heat to 80 the second night which helped my comfort but probably not the energy bill. The beds were fine but need better bedding (thicker) as they were paper thin comforters not helping even when you had two. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel for a week while I attended a conference. I loved the decor. I felt like I was inside a hotel that was designed by Anthro. I'm a huge presidents fan, so the gallery wall behind check-in was my favorite. I knocked it down a star for two reasons: 1. The walls are very thin! I know it's a hotel, but this was a hotel with the thinnest walls ever. 2. There was a small store in the lobby, but I was always required to go to the bar to purchase anything. The check-in desk refused to assist which was annoying since the store was clearly part of the check-in area. The next time I'm in DC, I'll still consider staying here! read more

So here's my scoop. The people have been top notch. Right at the start I want to acknowledge that. Pros Clean room Coffee maker in room Comfy bed View (8th floor room) Decor was nice Water bottles provided Metro accessible Walkable neighborhood Cons WiFi was too slow to use both days except for during random times - HUGE issue as I was here on a work trip and I basically was out of luck in my room at night. Ended up using my phone hotspot. A/C did not really cool it down well. It wasn't hot in the room necessarily but I had to put it as low as it would go to sleep. Odd because I could hear it working and the vent was putting out air a LOT but not really cold. Cooler like a fan in the summer. Not like A/C. Considering it was 90's that was no bueno Room lighting is not good - personal preference but I don't like to feel cavey Only one pack of coffee cream/sweetener even though there are 6 K Cups so Id of had to call down to get more. Neutral Bathroom is tiny. It's ok for me as a 5'1" female but if you are tall or larger I'd think a bit about this. Breakfast at the little cafe. Packaged and heated food -not my cup of tea. So you cannot change the item (take cheese off for example) and it's pricey enough this is not real great for those who have allergies. Other options close by but a few more options would have been welcomed. The price was ok - but I think next time I'll stay elsewhere. Not a ton of choices in this area but I can metro easily and get better options. So great staff -very attentive. Clean place. Nice room. The WiFi was my biggest issue frankly because I'm from CA and needed to do several hours of work a night and it was impossible. That's just not acceptable in 2019. read more

This is MY SPOT! Where else in DC can you find a GORGEOUS rooftop pool that the public can enjoy for free-99? Ever since I discovered this place in July, I've been back to swim weekend after weekend. It's very metro accessible from the DuPont Station, so walking here is a breeze. The venue is nice, sexy and intimate, and the DJ keeps the tunes spinning while you swim. From 5-10 PM, Monday-Sunday, the pool is open to the public for free. All you have to do is simply make your way up the 9th floor and enjoy! They have a bar and a chef on the grill so you can enjoy tasty food and yummy drinks while you dry off in a nearby cabana (free---the cabana, not the food/drinks lol). This pool isn't the largest, but it's a nice size for a mid-evening dip during the hot DC summer days. It ranges from 4-5ft, so small kids shouldn't really "play" in this pool. Additionally, I'm 5'8, but the "5ft" level had my face nearly almost underwater...so if you can't swim and you're shorter than me...I would stay out of that section lol. This place has a rooftop pool that they open up to the public. It is amazing! The pool is a bit small but it gets less and less crowded from 6pm on. All the items on the menu was $10 and I had the crab cake sliders which came with free chips and they were fantastic. The drinks for happy hour were also rather reasonable. read more

Rooftop review: Pool is clean, but small. The decor is modern and fun. There's a small bar with a limited variety of drinks. Definitely arrive before noon If you want a spot in the cabanas or beach chairs. We came at 9:30 am to redeem a Gilt voucher for the rooftop and were informed they weren't taking the vouchers due to a special event (Labor Day party). This was our 2nd attempt to visit the pool and it was getting really frustrating. We weren't planning to be at the pool during the event and asked if we could stay for a few hrs. The manager was nice to let us in and said we can use our voucher another time. I'll update this review after we redeem the voucher and try some of the food at Station Kitchen. read more

Embassy Row Hotel The Embassy Row Hotel is a good choice for the college - 30yo set that wants to be near the action in a hotel that strives for uniqueness instead of chain-hotel standardization. It should be noted that this hotel used to be a Hilton brand property. I imagine the owners are gradually trying to remove that look and make this seem more like a large boutique hotel. (I have no issue with Hilton by-the-way, it's just that this hotel seems to want to move away from looking like a chain property.) Location: The location is a huge advantage for this hotel. Dupont Circle has Metro access and several restaurants that will fit the budget and style for a younger professional set. Similarly, the hotel serves for weekend travelers looking for fun in the numerous clubs around Dupont Circle. Staff: The hotel staff is friendly if inexperienced and easily overwhelmed. I may have picked a time where there were several new employees, but somehow I didn't get that the employees were new. It seemed more that they operated on the "I think this is good customer service" model rather than having specific training. With that, it was never rude, but some of the employees were less professional acting than others. That plays into the non-chain hotel feel, but not always in a good way. Amenities: The café at the hotel was adequate for a breakfast (they actually have a solid breakfast menu as well as quick snacks) or other meals. It's not a hotel restaurant that you'd want to visit specifically for lunch or dinner, but it's very convenient to have there. The coffee making can be slow in the mornings, so leave yourself some extra time if the hotel appears to be full, especially during the weekdays. The hotel does have meeting space, nothing huge, but there are several rooms for groups. The hotel has a roof-top pool and gathering place with trendy music and a young local crowd that comes in for happy hour to mix with young hotel guests. Patrons: The hotel seemed to attract a range of guests. Not a lot of families with kids, which was nice, but there were plenty of young political intern types and young professional types that probably booked this hotel on purpose, European and South American tourists that probably booked the hotel for the convenient location, gay travelers that probably booked for the gay-friendly atmosphere of Dupont Circle, and some out-of-place groups (like a family reunion) that probably booked for the reasonable prices and small meeting rooms. It was a good mix, and the hotel's youngish, diverse vibe was equally suited to all of these groups. Rooms: The rooms were hit and miss. In one visit I had to stay in two because the first had no air conditioning. The second room was not quite as nice décor-wise, but the view was better. In all, the rooms are adequate with an attempt to look boutique-trendy, but not quite spending the money on it. Besides the noise from the hallway as people started walking around, the rooms were quieter than other hotels I've stayed in. In all, I could see this hotel taking on a few more upgrades over time and really erasing the generic aspects of its design. The trick will be to do these changes with a high level of professionalism so that the hotel lives up to the potential the location provides. It would be better as a more expensive hotel that could truly deliver on all levels of service rather than a more economical hotel that didn't impress. read more

We spent the Labor day weekend here and it was well worth it. The hotel seems like it was just redesigned and they did a great job. The rooms are large and very well deisgned nice and modern. The hotel is in the dupont circle surrounded by great lounges and restaurants. Its also close to all the tourist acitivities. All with in walking distance. They are also pet friendIy a plys for us. will defintely come back and use this hotel again. read more

I love this place. The outside has a wonderful mural of angel wings. It is a fun tourist spot. It is also great branding for the artist and a creative way to attract people to go inside. The lobby areas are fun and funky. The furniture is unique and worth the trip just to see what new item has been included. The staff members are always nice. Even if you aren't staying in the hotel, you can get directions. Yelp has hosted some fun events in the hotel. I was accustomed to having part of "Embassy day" featured in the hotel but it wasn't this year. The rooftop is worth the view. This is the perfect location for an event or meeting. read more

Beautiful hotel! I came here for Yelpchella and it was amazing! So many floors and so much happening on each level! Way too many things to name. But I will say, my favorite part was the rooftop patio! Omgosh! Talk about an amazing view. Wowzas! Modern patio furniture, outdoor bars, pool... and once again, that amazing view! Ah! Very lovely hotel! I LOVE the decor and color scheme they have going on! It was very relaxing, yet modern. They have a game room, bar, coffee shop, free popcorn in the lobby. You can tell the rooms must have been renovated probably in the last 2-3 years. It looked fairly new, with basic wear and tear, but no major problems. I would definitely stay here again.
