We love the diner look! We love how country and southern the food is. The best was the medium liver, bowl of chilli and the pineapple milkshake! It would have been perfect if our server didnt forget to add the milk shake. We already paid and were called back as we walked out of the door almost halfway to car to come back and pay additional because she forgot. Which was ok with us however I wish it was more thorough and smooth. Overall, a good experience with the food!

Great little breakfast spot. Had the special and it was quite nice. I recommend the sausage patties. My husband got the fried bologna sandwich and really liked it. Our waitress was super sweet and the inside was clean and comfortable. We would go back anytime.

The food didn't have a lot of flavor, but our waitress was very nice. I ordered a cheese omelet, which came with hash browns and toast and a separate short stack of pancakes. My food came out hot but the omelet was literally just cheese and eggs. The hash browns were decent, and the pancakes were a bit dry. This place is usually packed, and has old fashioned diner decor. Perfect for a quick bite, or late dinner.

The cool retro 50's diner is alive and well here. Shakes, malts, hamburgers hot dogs and the kind of comfort food that conjures up the nostalgia of American fare made complete with the lively diner decor. First time and the service was great!

Stopped in for the first time ever on a Friday night and we were seated immediately! Our waitress was nice and very attentive! But she really rushed us as it was getting busy after a while. The food was really good though! We started with Cheese fries and wow! The cheese was like a good cheese whiz! For my main I got the club sandwich! I can't resist a club sandwich and I'm glad I didn't skip on theirs! My side was pasta salad, it was good but tastes like it came out of a container . My boyfriend had a bbq cheeseburger with onion rings! Everything was great! Fun diner in a cool streamliner trailer with fun 50d themed & music decor! We will definitely be back!

Place was very clean. Server, Whitney, was very friendly. My wife had French toast. I had the omelette. Sorry about the half eaten picture. I was starving and forgot to take a picture when the food arrived. I really liked the whole experience. Place to go for breakfast.

It was extremely busy on a Thursday night, but I got seated with no wait at the counter. I ordered the Julie's Grilled Chicken Salad, fried okra, and finished with a hot fudge sundae. The salad was okay, nothing special but just what I needed. I loved the fried okra, but I felt like there could have been more seasoning (but there is salt and pepper at the table!). The sundae was the real star of the show. It reminded me of how much I loved hot fudge sundaes as a kid. My waitress was super nice and I loved the decor, but it can be quite chaotic because of how many people there are.

We always enjoy Mel's Diner. Good, diner-style food from chili dogs to country fried steak. Fun atmosphere. Clean. Busy. Fun. Thanks for a great meal as always!

Well being that my name is Melissa.... 10/10!! No seriously, incredible service. Great value and the food was delicious. I loved the real diner feel and how down to earth everyone was. I even bought a tshirt.

Whenever we come to town we always must visit Mel's. The menu is simple and the food is good and well prepared. Burgers and fries are always a hit with the kids and there is plenty of choices for those with more complex tastes. The service is always great and decor takes me back to when times were much more simple. The burgers are always good and the onion rings are really good.

This was a cute, 50s themed restaurant. I had the French dip which was delicious. Our server, Samantha, was excellent and very helpful. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the menu wasn't descriptive. For example, the omelets didn't list what was in them. Other than that, it was an excellent experience.

Super fun eclectic 1960-1960's diner. We were seated immediately on a Thursday evening getting into town. The waitress was quick and attentive. My husband had a cheese burger that he inhaled within 5mins so it must've been great! I had a Reuben sandwich that reminded me Of ones my grandfather use to make. It was so delicious! We had chocolate shakes and malts both were fantastic! The restaurant was very clean. If we lived nearby, we would be regulars!

Mel's Diner is SO good! Our server, "Angel", took great care of us! I love the classic diner decor and booths. Very nostalgic! All of our food was delicious. The hamburger steak, chili dog, and grilled cheese were great, and we finished it off with a strawberry sundae and peach cobbler. Chef's kiss! Can't wait to go back!

Very good food for the most part. The theme of the 50's was through out. Went back today but they are closed on Sundays.

    Do they serve alcohol?

No, but based on the quality of their food, a few drinks might help! I'm pretty forgiving on restaurants, but I cannot in good conscience recommend Mel's Dinner. You'd be better off going to a fast food chain.

The only downside was that service was a bit slow at the beginning, and it took a while for someone to notice that we had been seated and were ready to order. That said, once our food arrived, it was absolutely fantastic. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well worth the wait. The staff was also very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of once they realized the delay. Overall, a great dining experience with delicious food and wonderful employees. With a little improvement in speed of service, this would easily be a five-star stop for our family.

If you like Cajun or Creole food the Killer Creole Omelette is to die for as it tastes like you are sitting at a restaurant in New Orleans! It was 12:00 & dining room was mostly empty. The Benedict sauce tasted like melted margarine & was pretty thick too. One of my eggs was totally boiled, meaning no runny yellow. The other egg was just barely runny. The Canadian Bacon was NOT real. It was some sort of sliced & spiced luncheon meat that tasted horrible. I asked the waitress for some butter for my grits, and she said "more butter?", as if it was fine the way it came, and what is wrong with me:-( The shrimp on the Po Boy was NOT Blackened. No spices what-so-ever. The french fries that came with it, were the best part of that meal:-( Our waitress, Becca M, avoided eye contact with us the entire time we ate, and remember, the place was over half empty. Once we were finished eating, she came over, after waiving her down, and asked how our meal was. We reported to her the unsatisfactory meal but we ate it because we were on a quick break from work & needed to hurry. We did not have time for a 2nd breakfast to be cooked. She picked up the bill & asked us to wait a minute. She returned after a while & told us she removed the charges for the two iced teas! So, we paid $35. for two people to have a crummy meal while on a quick break from work. FINALLY - we are so sick of those horrible metal chairs in the dining room. They hurt most people's outer legs/hips & do not encourage a customer to relax & be comfortable. In the past, the food was so good, we would just over look the chairs, but after today's horrible food & the lack of anyone caring about our visit, we won't be using our hard earned money to eat crummy food & be uncomfortable. FYI: after removal of our iced tea, our meal was $29.90, we did include a $5.00 tip.

Gordon Ramsey would consider it a threat. As a chewy bacon lover and enthusiast, when my bacon came out charred and demented, i was appalled to say the least. I had to drench it in the white gravy so it would give my stomach the illusion of chewy. Even then, even with the request of chewy, i was let down. The home fries were exceptional.. as exceptional as any other home fry you'll get on the Pigeon Forge strip. And why? They'll all the same refrigerated chips of processed mess. Soggy, not even crisp. So poor you'd hope the microwave would add additional flavors from all the other food they microwaved. I wouldn't even praise the food if paid me, it's sad enough i paid IT to taste like wet squeaky boots. But anyways the atmosphere was just bewildering! They have a big exhibit with birds you can watch. Sometimes they're loud and a bit squawk-y but it doesn't deplete the experience. This is my internal conflict with a certain drink on the menu. The Monster. This satanic abomination soup of a beverage really tempted me. I drink energy drinks and was excited to try a Monster! I mean.. we're all a little adventurous deep down.. human nature! Wrong. Apparently.. With full fledged confidence.. as much as you'd expect at a busy bar playing BINGO.. I asked the waitress for a Monster energy drink. Big. Mistake. I get it.. I took an unsuspecting picture of the beast waiting.. opened it.. and took a sip. If you were to ask me, giving somebody a pedicure with your MOUTH would taste no different than a can of this monstrosity. Maybe I recommend the restaurant.. but I don't recommend the Monster.
