Good food usually. I collect point on the Melt shop app for treats. Staff is nice but does not seem to go out of their way to offer specials or to mention new meals. I am trying the new chicken Cesar sandwich. It's just ok. Chicken seems like rubber I hope they can correct that. but I will try something different next time. I give places more chances. You never know what they will have that's great. Don't give up.

The Korean BBQ Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($7.79)

Located in the BEAUTIFUL food court of Staten Island Mall, the Melt Shop was our substitute for Chick-fil-a since they randomly decided to close one Sunday. Fortunately, the sudden change in events turned out to be good as we discovered crispy chicken sandwiches elsewhere. We ordered The Korean BBQ ($7.79), Crispy BBQ Chicken ($7.79), and Naked Tots ($3.49) with Chipotle Mayo Dipping Sauce (50c). The two sandwiches were slightly smaller than we imagined. They were also basically the same with chicken and coleslaw, but with different sauce. The KBBQ sauce was more tangy and had a slight spicy kick to it. My Korean BBQ chicken was glazed and drizzled in the spicy sweet sauce, so even though the chicken was breast meat, the dryness barely affected me. Both sandwiches were extremely messy to eat with the abundant sauce, so just a note. After having delicious Tater Tots at a restaurant elsewhere, we thought we could taste the same taste again here. But to our dismay, although there was more milky/cheesiness in these tots, they were too loose for our liking. In the end, it's a great fast food spot if you're looking for something else besides typical Burger King and Popeyes. But for real, the food court was pretty stunning and clean. I would totally come back just to dine there again.

Loaded tots & Mike's hot honey melt (~$14).

Is it sad to say my friend and I liked the loaded tots more than the sandwich?? We ordered: loaded tots & Mike's hot honey melt. The loaded tots were decently good, I thought the sauce was too creamy for my liking but my friend seemed to have enjoyed it. The jalapeños weren't spicy at all which was disappointing to me. As for the sandwich, it was okay. We both thought the honey fried chicken was extremely tender though, melts right into your mouth but the choice of cheese didn't seem to fit with the honey fried chicken. 2 stars from me for the loaded tots & honey chicken.

Loaded fries with the sliced red peppers (usually doesnt have peppers like this, not sure if it is their new way of doing things)

Their loaded fries is always my go-to, ordered it today and there were sliced red peppers thrown on top, which was a bit odd, maybe this is something they changed, but minus today, I usually love it. And love the perfect texture of their bread on all their sandwiches each and every time. The sandwiches taste good too. This is one of the more consistent Melt Shops I've been to

Haven't been to Staten island mall for a long time. Went to the food court for the first time too. It is so beautiful. I saw meltshop I had to try it. The last time I had it was when I work at uptown Manhattan. They took our order and the foods came pretty fast. The sandwich is very tasty . Will definitely come back again.

I like Manhattan locations better in general, but food was good. Chicken tenders and tots I got were super crispy and freshly made

First time checking out the newly renovated food court in the Staten island mall. If you're in the mood for some greasy, cheesey grilled cheese this is the place. I had the chicken ranch melt. It was very tasty but the chicken was too thick and not crispy enough for me. The strawberry lemonade was so good not too sweet. I went on a Sunday around noon and there was plenty of seats. The staff was friendly. I'll definitely be back and order one of the regular grilled cheese sandwiches for sure.

    The Grilled Chicken Melt

Great food, a little over priced. I ordered the Grilled Chicken melt. It was delicious. I also made it a meal and got tots on the side with a drink. That was worth it for about 12 dollars (sandwich by itself was 8.50). The person with me ordered a 2 piece chicken tender which was $4.99 and a bottled lemonade which was $2.99. I think that's way too expensive for those items, esp when Burger King is right next door and you can get chicken nuggets for 1 or 2 bucks. Over all, the food is good, but stick to the meals so you don't get ripped off.

What an amazing addition to the Staten Island Mall ! It is so easy to mess up something so simple, but they truly perfected the grilled cheese. The line moves very fast. I ordered the Maple Bacon Grilled Cheese - the bacon was a great flavor of maple and crispy. The blend of cheddar and sharp brick was delicious. And the bread was perfectly toasted. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken melt. He was raving about how moist the chicken was and how crispy the breading was. He really enjoyed this. We also got a side of loaded tots - delicious! Can't wait to come by again.

    Soooo good!

Ok. I'm a cheesy-girl!!! I absolutely love this lil spot. The grill cheese and tata tots were poppin!

What started off as a very unsettling experience turned into us walking out of the door feeling like an extension of family. There was a bit of a mixup with our reservation and we almost felt like we weren't going to be seated after booking in May for my brother's birthday! But, once it was confirmed that the mix up was on their end, they apologized and went above and beyond to ensure that our evening was special. Nike and Jennifer were amazing. They went above and beyond--extremely personable and pleasant. We didn't wait long for any course to be served.. ambience is so cozy--not a big space at all... you feel as though you're in someone's home. Playlist was spot on. It was just really nice. We truly appreciated Shaw-nae coming out to interact with us and discuss her love of family and food. She is truly passionate abd gracious about what she has created and you can experience it throughout your visit. Food: Everything was beautifully presented and the portion sizes are out of this world. We have a whole other meal that we took back -so much food! We started off with complimentary cornbread--different flavors--it was a nice touch. And this sweet potato cornbread (maybe) was truly decadent and delicious. My husband's fried fish and my oxtail were good, but probably needed a bit more seasoning to really take it over the top, but the oxtails were super tender and plentiful. I didn't really care for the rice that came with my oxtails--collards were tender but a little too salty for me--my husband likes his that way.. the baked mac and cheese was really good.. the shrimp mac was good but I wasn't a super fan--it reminded me of fake cheese but I am sure it wasn't. The star of the show were the wings! OMG, these were the best wings I've ever had --sugar daddy and honey butter wings... out of this world. I would go back just for the wings--and I'm not even a big wing person! We left happy and full of delicious food and energy. I would highly recommend that anyone comes to check it out themselves.

Our server Jennifer was top notch and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience. We had the Sugar Daddy wings to share. Chef Shaw-naé prepared a sweet treat, sweet potato topped cornbread that was absolutely amazing. I had the fried shrimp with jerk chicken rice as an entree-just delicious. Huge well seasoned shrimp and the rice was great. Reservation is needed because the place is very intimate and can't accommodate huge crowds but they also do takeout orders. Will definitely be on my list of places to revisit soon. Added bonus Shaw-naé showing love and giving us a hug on the way out after our great meal. My only regret we dived in so quick I didn't take any pictures.

My experience with this restaurant was a 10/10 from the moment I called to place the order. The women who took my order was very kind and helped me determine exactly how much food I needed for my party size. The food was ready upon pickup and the same woman carried my order and put it into my car because my son had fallen asleep in the car on the way over. She refused to let me carry anything, seeing that I was pregnant. She even took my credit card inside the restaurant and came back out with all the papers so that I would not have to leave my car. In addition to the amazing service, the food was OUTSTANDING. Every guest at my party, including myself, was so impressed by the quality and flavor of everything we ordered (smoked chicken, corn bread, pulled pork, potatoes with bacon). This restaurant is about 30 minutes from my home and required pick up, but I would order again in a heartbeat. We had a lovely night out with a couple who are our long time and good friends and we looked forward to this evening! However, there was a problem at the beginning of the evening that is unacceptable... my husband went to park the car, our friends were waiting at the bar for us, I walked in first. My friend ordered me an Aperol Spritz and my husband a diet coke. My husband does not drink and has been very successful with his sobriety for many years. The bartender, (I later found out her name is Maureen and apparently she is a manager there), misunderstood the drink order so my friend reiterated that we wanted a diet coke and an Aperol Spritz (two separate drinks). The "diet coke" arrived in a soda glass with a lemon wedge (just like a diet coke would) and the Aperol Spritz arrived in a cocktail glass. My husband took a sip of the "diet coke" and asked me if it tasted like there was liquor in it. Sure enough there was. We immediately returned it and the other bartender confirmed that it was a mix of Aperol Spritz with diet coke in the soda glass. My husband confronted the bartender and told her about her grievous mistaken and full disclosure, he said this is a "big f$%ken mistake you made". She took absolutely no responsibility for her error and shouted at him that she "was told to make a diet coke with Aperol Spritz". Truth be told, we clarified the drink order to her and why would she present the "diet coke" in a soda glass if it indeed was a cocktail. She went full "Karen mode" on him when she should have apologized. My request is that she re-trains in customer service and her ability to mix drinks! Like I said above, the food was excellent, the waiter was great, but this error is a serious error. People do make mistakes, but please acknowledge your mistakes and take care with serious issues. The dining experience was great, but I cannot give a 5 star due to the error.
