Enrique took such amazing care of us and helped ensure we had as pleasant of a dining experience as we possibly can. The pasta was extremely delicious with the sauce being creamy and savory but not overly rich; highly recommend giving it a shot! We liked it a bit softer so if you aren't too big of a fan for al dente, definitely make sure you let your server know ahead of time. The short rib grilled cheese was on the sweeter side and the roasted garlic was a bit too light for me to notice it. However, Enrique recommended the ju on the side to dip which definitely added a whole new layer of flavor complexity to it, which helped make the dish more enjoyable. Personally, I recommend a bit more garlic which can definitely enhance the dish to its fullest, a simple fix! We also got the street corn pizza, which was very flavorful and provided a great balance between its creaminess and savoriness! The pizza dough was thin and chewy, which provided a fun textural contrast, highly recommend as well! The lobster bisque was a pretty decent size that came with the lunch special, however the one we got didn't have any lobster in it, but Enrique remedied the situation and apologized for the mishap, showing how diligent he was to make sure everything was as perfect as can be and we really appreciated it! Overall, we had such a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back to try their many other selections! If anything is not to your liking or can be prepared better, don't hesitate to let your server know for they will not hesitate to make it right. Every time I search for brunch or dinner restaurants on Staten Island J's on the Bay pops up, so to kick off the Spring/ Summer Galavant season we chose this fine establishment. Now we know what hype is about! Let's start with the fantastic service! George is hands down among the class of the best servers we have had, he was warm, friendly, down to earth yet charming. We asked to be seated outside and the patio is cute and cozy, nicely decorated. Perfect for a private event like a bridal or baby shower. Now the food! For my cocktail I had the spicy coconut margarita, delicious and yes it was spicy. We were served warm bread, it came with 3 different toppings. For the main I ordered the double cut pork chops, it was served with cherry pepper and a delicious sauce. It was cooked medium to perfection, tender and juicy. My husband was my hungry so he had the burrata avocado caprese, for dessert I had the churros and hubby had the pistachio creme brulee, everything was perfectly prepared. Service was fast. They have lunch specials for some sandwich's and burgers. There is also some cash only deals for the week. I got the chicken and waffles which had sweet bacon jam cheese and chicken tenders. The portion was pretty big but it was around 22 dollars. I kinda wish it came with syrup as the waffle became pretty bland. The chicken tenders were nothing special and the cheese wasn't very melted. Overall I would say it was okay. read more

The cheesy garlic flatbread, the Caesar salad, and the mozzarella Carrazzo alone with the marinara sauce were a tasty delight. My main selection was the Asian Steak sandwich. The steak chunks were seasoned to perfection and embedded in soft fresh Italian bread. When we arrived, I panicked because I did not know how we would all fit from what I saw when we walked in the door. It was nice, but not for 15 people! He was a gentleman with curly brown hair and glasses. Soo friendly and had so many suggestions. Just great service from Him. Ambiance is very nice. Where have I been???? J's is about 10 min from me and I've never been there. Finally!!! The breakfast menu isn't humongous but what they offer is very different from the usual fare. Good coffee A few mini croissants with chocolate butter are put on the table. I could have chowed down on just that and have been happy. The pistachio stuffed French toast with pistachio mascarpone was to die for. My friend had the banana fosters French toast which was also amazing. Had to get the crispy potatoes as a side. Came here on a Wednesday for their kid's night (they have a person dressed up as a cartoon character-today they had Bluey. Check their instagram for upcoming characters/dates) with my family since my nieces and nephew were obsessed with Bluey. We made reservations for 8ppl the night before with no issue. Place is cozy in the front, and they have a backroom that's a bit more spacious. We were seated in the back. Bluey walked around the restaurant quite often. She stayed and danced with the kids, took pictures, said hi. She was really interactive with them. The kids loved it. On to the food. Food was pretty good as well. For kid's night(wednesday nights), each adult entree comes with a free kid's menu item/kid. (Fyi: pizza is not considered an entree). At other times, there is a charge for kid's entree. Pepper honey pie pizza- it was good! It was prepared Sicilian style. The dough/crust was so airy unlike other sicilians I've had before. We really enjoyed the pizza My dad had the linguini vongole and he liked it. Lasagna was flavorful. I tried a bit of the squid ink pasta and it was decent. The kids had the cheese pizza and chicken tender with fries. They were good as well. Our waiter was super friendly and patient considering the mess/noise our kids made. Wow what a great experience. I was there years ago, but this newly renovated place is great. I saw on instagram a video for Frozen Espresso Martinis. They did not disappoint. Perfect cocktail on a hot night. Both servers George and Giuseppe were great. This was my second try at this restaurant for brunch...The first one bombed and we had to leave before eating . The ambiance was loud and the service sucked from the inception. My friend kept saying she had a great experience the food was good when she tried it ... she doesn't know what happened when I gave it a try ...So I gave it another try . What a turn around the second time around . My server was perfect!! Customer service is always a great start for me. The food was indeed delicious. I settled for the Jay's BEC, still not trusting. The fried spinach was it for me . Delicious! I needed more of that. . The little croissant was a tease with that spread. The coffee was perfect and my pineapple juice in the matching glass made me smile . The ambiance ( the seating in the back) was perfect for my solo woos-a brunch ! Stopped in to avoid sitting in traffic and so happy we did! The appetizers were AMAZING. Everything was an elevated classic. We ordered the mozzarella battens which had a house made breading and came with vodka sauce. We also got lobster Rangoon, which were packed with creamy lobster and had fresh herbs. This app also came with a special sauce - scallion jam. I can't decide which appetizer we liked better! We split the lobster tagliatelle which was a really good size for sharing. We definitely left very satisfied. Lastly, the service was also great - George took good care of us the whole time. The staff was really friendly. The atmosphere is casual but the food that is served feels like it's upscale. They have a kids menu so great for families. Very high quality and delicious Italian food. I just moved in to the neighborhood and folks raved about this restaurant. I have tried it 3 times - and have the same opinion. This is a restaurant that thinks they are in Midtown Manhattan and are very arrogant - every time I went. The servers never introduced themselves. When I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, I did not like it after two sips. I told the waitress that and I proceeded to order a beer. Don'tcha know - she charged me for the LI Iced tea!!! Any other restaurant that I patronize would never do this. It must have cost them less than 80 cents to make that drink (smh) The food was decent but the service comes before food and the service was horrible. Nice looking place very clean, nice staff. I've given 3 stars here because my order was not correct. I ordered a plain cheeseburger cooked medium and specified no pickles no lettuce no tomatoes and whaaaam! Pickle juices were in the bun tomatoes were there with some poorly flavored salad. And was almost closer to well done. For 25 buckeroos better off at McDonald's at least they listen to your order and get it right. To top it off, (by the way, this was a to go order) No napkins or utensils. This should hopefully improve their service. read more
