    Spicy coconut margarita
    Paula J.

Every time I search for brunch or dinner restaurants on Staten Island J's on the Bay pops up, so to kick off the Spring/ Summer Galavant season we chose this fine establishment. Now we know what hype is about! Let's start with the fantastic service! George is hands down among the class of the best servers we have had, he was warm, friendly, down to earth yet charming. We asked to be seated outside and the patio is cute and cozy, nicely decorated. Perfect for a private event like a bridal or baby shower. Now the food! For my cocktail I had the spicy coconut margarita, delicious and yes it was spicy. We were served warm bread, it came with 3 different toppings. For the main I ordered the double cut pork chops, it was served with cherry pepper and a delicious sauce. It was cooked medium to perfection, tender and juicy. My husband was my hungry so he had the burrata avocado caprese, for dessert I had the churros and hubby had the pistachio creme brulee, everything was perfectly prepared. We would like to return for brunch, the menu looks great. Ta ta for now.

Service was fast. They have lunch specials for some sandwich's and burgers. There is also some cash only deals for the week. I got the chicken and waffles which had sweet bacon jam cheese and chicken tenders. The portion was pretty big but it was around 22 dollars. I kinda wish it came with syrup as the waffle became pretty bland. The chicken tenders were nothing special and the cheese wasn't very melted. Overall I would say it was okay.

Our group reserved the back room for lunch and I must say the food, the service and the table set up were phenomenal. The cheesy garlic flatbread, the Caesar salad, and the mozzarella Carrazzo alone with the marinara sauce were a tasty delight. My main selection was the Asian Steak sandwich. The steak chunks were seasoned to perfection and embedded in soft fresh Italian bread. The perfect ending to this heavenly meal was a platter of assorted fruits and a platter of assorted mini pastries. Excellent!!!

I came on a week day no one was there. I got a steak panini and my bf got the burger but it wasn't cooked like it was raw. My food was good though his just needed to be cooked a bit longer. They didn't have the milkshakes when I went hopefully they have them now.

Dropped in on a Friday for lunch with my daughter and bestie. We got seated in the back room which was great. Our server was amazing! Such good service. He was a gentleman with curly brown hair and glasses. Soo friendly and had so many suggestions. Just great service from Him. Ambiance is very nice. The back is like a patio and the pizza oven is back there. The complimentary croissants were Soo good. Cheese pizza for my kid--she ate 3 slices lol. I had the J's BEC--the spinach, bacon and spicy aioli was delish--however wasn't a fan of everything else with it. Drinks were great--my fave was probably the espresso martini my server had made and it was delish! I would def come back to try more of the menu plus great service! He needs a raise that kid lol

Where have I been???? J's is about 10 min from me and I've never been there. Finally!!! The breakfast menu isn't humongous but what they offer is very different from the usual fare. Good coffee A few mini croissants with chocolate butter are put on the table. I could have chowed down on just that and have been happy. The pistachio stuffed French toast with pistachio mascarpone was to die for. My friend had the banana fosters French toast which was also amazing. Had to get the crispy potatoes as a side. Just fantastic . I'd go back in a second and will also try lunch. The lunch menu looks fantastic as well.

Wow what a great experience. I was there years ago, but this newly renovated place is great. I saw on instagram a video for Frozen Espresso Martinis. They did not disappoint. Perfect cocktail on a hot night. Both servers George and Giuseppe were great. We had the firecracker calamari to start and then the spicy vodka chicken cutlet parm pizza for 2, and churros for dessert. I will be back. It was delicious!!

Great staff! Absolutely delicious & fresh food. Cooked to perfection. This is the second time I'm here debating if I should try something different. And yes I did, look forward to my next meal.

This was my second try at this restaurant for brunch...The first one bombed and we had to leave before eating . The ambiance was loud and the service sucked from the inception. My friend kept saying she had a great experience the food was good when she tried it ... she doesn't know what happened when I gave it a try ...So I gave it another try . What a turn around the second time around . My server was perfect!! Customer service is always a great start for me. The food was indeed delicious. I settled for the Jay's BEC, still not trusting. The fried spinach was it for me . Delicious! I needed more of that. . The little croissant was a tease with that spread. The coffee was perfect and my pineapple juice in the matching glass made me smile . The ambiance ( the seating in the back) was perfect for my solo woos-a brunch ! Check it out ... they have valet parking if you need it . Next time I will try the spirited drinks . Oh I think the price was reasonable and matched the experience! Do check it out for yourself.

Stopped in to avoid sitting in traffic and so happy we did! The appetizers were AMAZING. Everything was an elevated classic. We ordered the mozzarella battens which had a house made breading and came with vodka sauce. We also got lobster Rangoon, which were packed with creamy lobster and had fresh herbs. This app also came with a special sauce - scallion jam. I can't decide which appetizer we liked better! We split the lobster tagliatelle which was a really good size for sharing. We definitely left very satisfied. Lastly, the service was also great - George took good care of us the whole time. Next time I'm on Staten Island, will def stop in to try even more things on the menu.

Just left J's on the Bay and was left speechless how GREAT of a dining experience it was . Service was outstanding the owner Joe a gentleman and very friendly felt like I knew him forever . The food was very VERY GOOD ! Pizza is a must which we got as an appetizer ,All our meals were full of flavor and defiantly tasted the main ingredient TLC . Was blown away with the dessert a calzone w ricotta , pistachio a chocolate drizzle stole the show .

While the pizza is good, it wouldn't be something I'd specially make the trek out for. I do like their Cheese Pie ($19.50), which had a crispy and thin crust. This was simple, but good. We also ordered the Garbage Pie ($28.50), which had various toppings as in the name. This one didn't quite have any flavor that stood out, but gave more sustenance. We also got an order of the Fried Calamari ($16), which were lightly coated and fried nicely. I did enjoy these as an appetizer, which is great for sharing. Overall, it's a solid place that lives more on nostalgia. The place does get busy though. They also have a small parking lot, but we were also able to find street parking on a Sunday afternoon.

It has a casual vibe, but still feels like a proper restaurant, which makes it perfect for anything from a quick bite to a relaxed sit down meal. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can also order drinks, not just soda or juice, which adds to the overall experience. Street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. There's of course falafel to the east, garantita in Algeria, and panisse in France (or socca in a similar vein). Sicilian panelle is Italy's counterpart, and the version at Ungaro is an excellent example of it. The panelle comes served with a healthy serving of ricotta on a seeded bun. It has a relatively mild, filling flavor that lets you fully enjoy the chickpea fritters themselves. They also have a potato croquette sandwich on the menu - a distant cousin of the Vada pav I plan to try next time. The half vodka pizza we tried was good, with high-quality mozzarella and a decadent sauce. The pie itself had a nice chewiness to it - if I had any suggestions, perhaps next time they could go a bit easier on the quantity of the sauce.

The slice, the dough was perfectly thin, not tough at all, it was a very good quality cheese, I could definitely taste the basil, and the sauce underneath was amazing. The croquettes, they were not over breaded or over fried, they were very tender. The potato inside was creamy and delicious, and they came with an amazing marinara for dipping. This wasn't just your normal tomato sauce. This marinara had a deep rich flavor that went perfect with the croquettes. The price was extremely reasonable for what I got.
