This place is just downright disgusting! The new ownership ruined this staple in Farmingdale! They put out food that is obviously DAYS OLD! I ordered a standard bacon egg (over easy$ and cheese. My eggs were way over cooked. When I told them I got an attitude and grabbed my sandwich, threw it out and made a new one. They precut all cold cuts so that's also not fresh! The back room where they used to have tables to eat is a complete disaster! Filthy bathroom. I will never go back here again. This is second time we ordered egg sandwiches w/extra Boars Head ham, sliced thin and paid premium price for the upgrade in ham This is the second time the toast was burnt, no butter on toast as we ordered, cheap deli ham was riddled with fat and nerve, sliced as thick as and tasted like cardboard. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We ordered from original Pete's Deli all the time as food was great. Now with new owner and unpalatable food he provides to customers, we, our extended family and friends are experiencing lack of quality and won't order from this deli again. See the pics for yourself. In person they're friendly so I'm not sure what their problem with the phone is. The food is very good with lots of options. It's the reason why we deal with their rude behavior via telephone. Highly recommend this spot for lunch. I usually get a hero and half pound of some type of side salad. A fresh side salad in itself is worth the 5 stars. Alot of the time the side salad at other places will taste like it has sat out for a while or maybe even refrigerated for a couple of days. I have been going to this deli for the past few years because other delis just seem to skimp on sandwich meat. The prices are a bit high but I'd rather spend an extra dollar or two and receive a sandwich that is going to satisfy me. I want to make management aware of an issue that occurred during my recent visit. One of your employees (Mary, if I'm not mistaken) took my order and then proceeded to prepare my food with no mask and no gloves. I looked around and saw that all of the other employees had masks and gloves, but she obviously doesn't care about following the rules or have any regard for the health and safety of your customers during a global pandemic. I ended up walking out without my food because I was so disgusted by what I witnessed. I have been a loyal customer of your deli for many years and I am extremely disappointed and upset about this blatant disregard and unsafe behavior, to the point where I would rather not return if your employee is going to selfishly put customers at risk. I hope that this will be addressed to avoid more similar complaints and a loss of customers. read more

Pete's is the local Farmingdale deli that just about everyone in the town goes to. The sandwiches are good to great, the staff is friendly and competent. They have a nice variety of choices, including a fruit section, a wall of different chips and a ton of drink selections. Prices are a tad high but nothing to complain about because these guys can crank out a sandwich in under a minute where other delis take over 5 minutes. And they always have lots of help too, there's always at least 4-5 guys behind the counter ready to help you, whereas at other delis the employees are hiding in the back or day dreaming. Fast, easy, and friendly service provided by three guys behind the counter made this experience extra special. She ordered a "Who's afraid of Virginia Ham?" Which is hot Virginia Ham with melted American cheese, lettuce and tomato on a hero with honey mustard. I ordered a "Godfather" with is ham cappy, Genoa Salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, peppers, oil and vinegar on a hero. Both tasted extremely FRESH and AMAZING. They also offer hot food, grill, and ready to eat servings. I'm currently taking a break before devouring the second half of my sandwich, but even typing this review took a lot out of me..
