The owner?/manager is just not nice and was extremely rude to me today. Hopefully you do not have to interact with her. I've noticed a high employee turnover through the years and today reminded me of why I only come here now and then and cringy hearing how she treats employees and many other reviews have mentioned. Today I placed an online order for a bagel and arrived for pick-up 20 minutes later. There were 2 customers in the place and bagel was not ready. 10 minutes later the bagel was ready. When I simply asked why it takes 30 minutes the owner raised her voice saying I always complain, which is not an appropriate response and is just rude, then made excuses and argued with me as to why it took 30 minutes ( and it's uber's fault - not sure what that even means as she did not explain) instead of simply apologizing. I could have walked in and placed the order and it would have been ready sooner. What's the point of calling ahead? Their actual website does not work and is not updated therefore you have to go through uber eats. I will not return for overpriced, ordinary food with slow service and rude owner ( who, incidentally has had my business for over 10 years.) This shows the lack of gratitude for being a customer. Bye - Food was cold and supposed pastrami "melt" which I paid 17$ for. You would expect after waiting for a hot bagel for 30 min it would at least be hot. read more

Bagels are my favorite! I tried this place recently and I was not disappointed. It would have been much better if they had a little more cream cheese but all in all very tasty. I tried their cranberry bagel with honey walnut cream cheese and the jalapeno cheddar bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagels are perfect, good size and they make them nice and toast on the outside and softer on the inside. I will be trying more soon! read more

Once again we visited while on vaca, and this year they expanded. It's always so clean and everything is so fresh. The owner Nabil is very engaging, and I always feel like a guest rather than a customer. The freshly made juices are so refreshing - today I had the mango pineapple. Super! The iced latte was perfectly made. The turkey cranberry on focaccia was delicious. Any bagel breakfast sandwich is a good choice! The bagels are better than our East Coast NY favs. Memo's is a fun gathering place with vibes of strong community and wholesome meals! I always get the baklava! It's the best. Unfortunately, I had to take down my review from 7 years ago. I remember when Memo's bagels opened and it quickly became my favorite bagel place in Rancho San Diego. I ordered bagels consistently. However, it has become incredibly and increasingly overpriced. 7 years ago, for about 5 years a Plain Cream Cheese Bagel cost 3.50, then it was raised to 5.00 (the Egg, Meat, & Cheese used to be 10.50 and now is 15), about a week and a half ago the price increased and is now 7.00. They ARE great bagels, but the cost does not offset the food. It now simply seems like greed. It is quite unfortunate. I imagine price increases have been applied across the rest of their menu items. read more

The service was EXCELLENT which is the reason I gave stars. But that's where it stopped. All I needed was a quick cup of coffee and a delicious croissant. The croissants are not baked fresh. It seemed like it was taken out of a freezer and toasted and it still was old and stale. I've gone to so many bakeries for the same order and I've never been served an old croissant. I even went back in to exchange it WHICH I NEVER DO but I couldn't eat it. I was given a different croissant and it was the same. Disappointing to say the least. I ended up tossing it. The coffee was ok. The staff was so nice that I wanted to love this place to return every week for my special treat, but regrettably I won't return. I didn't try anything else so give them a shot! First time to this deli and I will not be back. No customer service skills. The sandwich I received did not have the correct cheese as I asked for. The lettuce is actually spinach, which is not lettuce.And that is how it is advertised. Hands down best bagels I've ever had in Southern California. I love bagels, definitely a bit of a bagel obsession, and these are my absolute favorite. You can tell they have been made with great care the way a bagel should be, toasted with perfect plain cream cheese. This place has some of the best bagels I've had in San Diego. They provide good service, have their own mixed spreads, an assortment of fresh juices, and other drinks, as well as amazing sandwiches. They're very generous with their proportions. It is a little pricey but if you have a little extra money it's well worth it.
