This is a small shop given the area, but with a surprising amount of seating given that the kitchen takes up a considerably small footprint. I ordered a green iced tea which was delicious, and then sat and worked. Wi-fi is solid here, and the outlets are plentiful. I especially like having seats with backs and sizable tables at the right height... when you're working from cafes the small details make a difference. Even though the espresso machine was down, the staff were still friendly and pretty calm about the whole ordeal (although some customers were not). This spot had the best almond croissant I think I've had in my entire life. The coffee is solid too. We stopped by here to grab a bulk order of coffee for around 10 people. All our orders were churned out, and labeled properly, and the dessert we got on top were soo good. I spent three days in Philly for a conference and this was the best tasting and cheapest cup of coffee I had, and it was not even close on either end. The drip coffee had body to it and acidity, something that could not be said for any other coffee I had all week. Ordered honey turmeric latte with oat milk - interesting flavor but yet smooth with a spark of turmeric. It brings some spiciness but not too sweet. Oat milk was added with no charge unlike other places which is nice! I wouldn't get this again but it was a nice change for a cup of adventurous drink! The place is really cute and larger than it seems when you first walk in. There is a nice sized seating are behind the counter. The seating atea has outlets so it is convenient for days when you're working out of the office or studying. Visited this shop while on a coffee hop day with my friends in Philly. There were different aspects to things I didn't like too much about this place. First off we went inside and my friends were first in the line when I asked if I could use the restroom, to which I got the response and I quote "It's over there... but it's locked." So I'm trying to ask for the key but being completely ignored. I thought maybe the cashier person was just busy and so I tried with someone else who worked there, and they just walked right past me without even looking. The place was quite busy, however, it was still really bad service in my opinion. Of course I just gave up and went to the back of the line to order my coffee. I ordered a caffè macchiato and unfortunately did not like it. The coffee was too bitter for me. The latte art was beautiful though. The location itself is ok. They have a cute little table outside where we sat down. Honestly unfortunately this one was the only disappointing one of the 4 coffee shops we went to that day, however I'm still glad I tried it. A charming, cozy coffee shop in the Old City. Not too busy when we rolled in and the worker greeted us with a friendly smile. They have a pretty straightforward espresso menu here. I went with a basic Latte with 2% milk. This was formatted as a 10oz in a 12oz take out cup. I believe this is intentional as the smaller format and ultimate milk to espresso ratio rewarded me with a robust, evenly frothy final product versus overly milky. At $4.75, this seemed to be a steal but I do not think it was a double shot. The shop was warm and inviting with natural sunshine spilling in some, so I did sit for a bit before charging through my day. read more

Lovely and cosy cafe in the Old City Philly. I have been trying to get their coffee and sit here few times, but it's been so crowded I decided to wait. I was finally able to get down here and happy to say there were enough seatings around 1pm (I think I came around 3ish before). It is not a spacious cafe, and the seatings are bit crammed, but it is okay. When I went employees were efficiently working, but not quite welcoming. I actually don't mind this because I don't expect everyone to be friendly, I'd rather have them be more business like than goofing off and not tending to their customers (which I have had experiences with at other places). I ordered their seasonal drink - Honey Spiced Cortado (it also has turmeric). It came with a little spiced cake which was really nice. I have tried spiced coffee drinks elsewhere, but this spiced cortado really delivered on spices! It was such a nice surprise drinking this. The vibe of this place is chill and has potential for being productive. Tables have plenty of space for laptop and notebooks. I got an iced latte which was alright. Note: if you want a vanilla iced latte you have to add in the syrup yourself (there's a counter with the syrups). The almond croissant was really good to the point that I considered asking where this cafe gets their almond croissants from. The almond filling is ample, which I sincerely appreciate since usually places skimp out on that part and it's my favorite. Unfortunately I had to knock down a star solely because there is no AC here. Going here in the afternoon during the summer would be unbearable. In the morning when I went, it was still pretty stifling, but I toughed it out. No AC is such a turn off for me I can't physically return again during the summer.
