Every time I've gone to Habitat it's been on accident after stumbling upon it, and every time it's been great. The space is small but mighty, great staff behind the counter and drinks come out quickly. I'm always hestitant to get an iced lattee cause if it's not great, you just lost 9 bucks, but Habitat doesnt play. Their espresso is so great and my drinks are always made perfectly. We love this cozy coffee shop and try to go here every day when visiting Philadelphia. The one server is such a nice guy & the barista was fast, and the drinks were great. Pretty shop, small and it is very popular so you may wait a little on a busy Saturday. We also often get some baked treats such as an almond croissant & biscotti. Go here! read more

This might be my new favorite spot. I got the cardi b a cardamom latte. SO GOOD! It was so smooth. Nicely sweetened. Really excited to come back and try more of their drinks. They have some seating. It can get busy at times. I also got a chocolate croissant which I also loved. For "here" orders they do mugs which I really appreciate. read more

You've got the best baristas, the best coffee and the cutest little shop with friendly locals, regulars and coffee lovers all around at Habitat Coffee House. But really. Ok, maybe I'm a bit biased since I personally know the owner and my kids may have played with his kids but even still! Habitat really is one of the best coffee shops and that is the truth! The care, attention and knowledge that goes into making the perfect beverage is a lot more than I ever imagined. Through meeting with the owner, I learned just a snippet of some of those secrets. I'm not sharing anything here, but I will keep raving about this place any chance I get. Run, don't walk to Habitat. You will not be disappointed. read more

Spent a weekend in Philly and Habitat ended up being my favorite coffee stop of the trip. I ordered a cortado, and it was exceptionally well executed -- balanced, smooth, and just really delicious coffee. You can tell they're intentional about sourcing their beans, and it shows in the cup. The shop itself has great vibes -- intimate, cozy, and no-frills in the best way. Just quality coffee done right. If you're serious about coffee, Habitat is absolutely worth a stop. read more

Nice place on the corner. We took a seat for a bit while waiting for our restaurant to open for dinner. Nice service, make sure to ask for to go so that your beverage stays warm while sitting. Minimal seating around windows. But nice place to hang for awhile if you manage to get a seat. read more

While it's not a very big space they make up for it in atmosphere. The large wooden windows, and cute seating both inside and out. The natural light comes in from all sides since its on the corner. While there arent seats for more than two people, its a good spot for working and catxhing up. The coffee itself was pretty good but a little on the sweat side for me. read more

Cute coffee shop at the corner of S 11th. The shop is really small with 5-6 tables, each can sit max of 2 people. The staffs were really pleasant which is a highlight, I think their coffee are alright, nothing to write home about. A plus is they have decaf :) read more

My type of coffee roaster. Small cozy space with just a few seats. Simple menu. I ordered a cappuccino with naturally processed Ethiopian beans. Great flavor! This place is awesome for a coffee and it's very cozy inside. It has a handful of seats in there but there's outside seating as well. They're usually open early and open till later in the day and the Stafford generally pretty friendly my coffee taste really great all the time and I love my Matcha lattes read more

Fantastic! The mocha is made with a creamy chocolate milk and was absolutely the perfect mixture of sweetness, cocoa, and smooth espresso. I think that was the fastest I've ever drank a coffee. The staff were completely friendly and quick to make our drinks, they even had handmade pastries available. It's a small shop with several small tables, but they were full of people getting work done. It's conveniently located on the corner and very easy to walk to. There is even a restroom available so you can stay and enjoy your drink for a while. read more

DRINKS I came in around 10 am on a Friday and ordered a hot mocha to-go. The latte art was gorgeous, and lids are placed on the side of the bar. I think they use 2% milk for the latte, which is fine, but the coffee itself tasted thinner than I would have liked it. I tried Greenstreet before it became Habitat and thought the same, so I think the coffee here just isn't for me. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly, and orders come out quickly. Stickers of the namesake are also available for purchase priced between $1-2. AMBIANCE There is limited seating available inside the store as the tables are situated cozily beside one another. Some seating is available outside the storefront as well. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. read more

I now look forward to coming here in the morning when I get the chance. I still don't consider myself a coffee person by any means. However, so far, this place has made me the beat vanilla latte. The best part is they make it CONSISTENTLY goof. There are other good cafe's I'm the area, but I feel like some of their barista's aren't consistent. This place hasn't been missed yet. 3 stars for the coffee flavor, the aesthetics / indoor furnishings / location. They lose one star due to how cramped this location is. There is barely room to stand and order. If you were to have a seat it is soo cramped inside. Obvi sitting outside gives you a little more space. One of the baristas was not having a really good day when I went and I prob can't blame them but they seemed stressed or flustered unsure. Combined with how busy and cramped it is I would prob just walk a block and get a coffee from a different cafe. Overall nice coffee and indoor decor but poor structure and service. read more

History

Established in 2023.

Our founders began working at the previous cafe here (Greenstreet Coffee Co). We started as a roaster that began roasting for the cafe in august of 2021 and in February of 2023 we were given the opportunity to purchase the shop! While the coffee and staff are not changing, we are excited to continue pursuing excellence and pushing the boundaries of what we thought coffee could be!

I enjoyed the hot chocolate. It was rich, smooth and perfect comfort in the morning on the go. The customer service was also great! They were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Additionally, I thought the prices for their coffee and hot chocolate was reasonable. I'd stop by El Café again if I stay at the Hilton Motto.

Although technically not a part of the cafe, the fact that it's located inside the hotel means there's lots of comfortable seating available around the lobby. Rght across from the cafe there's a fantastic lounge area with a pool table and a collection of books. I don't think anyone would use the books in the library and they're mostly decorative, but I did think it was cute. The menu is adorable - it's a giant scroll on the wall and had some Philly-themed artwork. I would go back just to see if they change up the artwork.

The texture was a bit more icy than traditional soft serve (which I prefer). The shop is very casual and does not offer any seating that I saw.
