I had two great morning experiences so far at Menagerie. I easily found parking on 3rd both times I visited. The lines had about a half dozen people and almost out of the door, but it moved fast. Both guys who took my orders were helpful and passionate about the menu. Their regular drip coffee was Elixr's Beekeeper - An espresso blend designed to be balanced, sweet like caramel and smooth. It is a tasty sipping espresso and pairs wonderfully with milk. The components rotate seasonally but the flavor profile is consistent. ...... It was medium to full bodied and had delicious flavors of chocolate, honey and caramel. $2.50 for a 12oz pour was a good price. They have some single origin coffee's available too. Their cortado was 4oz, strong and creamy with roasted and chocolatey flavors at $3.75. They had several bakery items and some sandwiches. The wait for food was around 10-15 mins. They had cookies that were calling my kids names for their Friday night snack (minus a small sampling from dad). They reminded me of 4th Street Cookie Companies. Monster, chocolate chip and chocolate tahini (think brownie). I approved and so did the kids. I think my second trip with the cookies, cortado and coffee was like $7 and change. Not bad at all. The interior of the building had high ceilings, exposed timbers, old brick walls, polished concrete floors, a bean roasting area, a clean bathroom and a chill vibe. The seating areas consisted of a long stone sitting ledge, a couple of tables, some couches and seats all along the front window. I'll definitely return here when I'm on my next Spring Garden stop. Really cute industrial coffee shop with a lot of space. Big venue, but seats are a bit limited. I ordered a dirty matcha latte and it was perfect! Not too sweet, I could taste the matcha/espresso/milk evenly. The iced coffee was also good. Slight bitter taste to it! I will definitely return and pick up a pastry next time! read more

Menagerie has no business having 3.5 stars on yelp. For me it's been a kind of community institution. I came here to work on their WiFi when I moved in before my WiFi was set up. People in the dog park next door always have menagerie cups. The place has a great aesthetic- super comfy low profile furniture, stairs to sit on, lots of space and just a few tables. Easy place to catch up with a friend or people watch. It never feels rushed even when it's busy. Their coffee is dependable; they do have specials but don't tend to be as adventurous as C&T or some other nearby options which is fine with me. Their pastries on the other hand are very good, I especially like the chocolate ginger cookie which is a great afternoon bite. Anyways it's a great place. read more

I loved the high ceilings, and super cozy vibes- so many seating options from the high counter at the window to the couches and tables on the side. Pretty mid experience on Saturday my first visit. We ordered 2 drip coffees, and got charged for 3 and also did receive 3. We also ordered one breakfast sandwich to go for a family member, and ended up waiting over 15 minutes for it? It was a bit confusing because we didn't get a receipt so how would we have known our order number , we also were not told. I ended up leaving to grab a handful of things at Kaplan bakery, came back after waiting for my order there, and when we returned it was not ready yet. I'll be honest , I'm not really sure what happened. My husband said numerous orders placed after us were ready but not ours - however I wasn't there and don't really know what occurred. I also know it was our fault that we accidentally picked up the wrong order originally , but again it's because it was the one ready after we ordered, and no one was standing around claiming it at the time and we didn't have an order number Overall a confusing experience , but very cute inside. The barista with the blonde buzz cut is really nice and seemed interested in what I was asking for even though the other barista cut me off mid sentence when I was explaining to him what a café lungo is. This location in northern liberties just opened and it had great vibes. Very open and dogs are allowed inside. It's right by a park, so I got to see a bunch of cute dogs come through. I think because it is new, it was tough finding a seat when I got there and sat on the little cushions in the corner, luckily, someone at a table eventually left and I was able to work from that table. The cappuccino was really great. I'm hoping it's just crowded because it's new and it'll eventually die down a bit. Beautiful coffee shop across the street from Liberty Lands park! Pistachio orange scone, chocolate chip cookie, & coffees were all excellent. Service was fast & staff were friendly. We went after lunch around 1:30 pm on a Saturday and there were plenty of seats. You could also take your yummy coffee to the park & enjoy the outdoors. I'm surprised to see bad reviews regarding use of space & wait time. It may not be the best place to park yourself for eight hours with one cup of coffee & free WiFi. Maybe go somewhere else for that. It's a lovely neighborhood coffee spot & awesome that it's close to the park. read more

This place has great coffee. It has a really solid rustic ambiance too. However, the staff was incredibly rude today. My Fiance asked to use the bathroom and the female barista responded with a very nasty tone for absolutely no reason. The cashier with the tattoo on the inside of his hand seemed angry and was also rude. You could tell he wasn't happy when I didn't tip him after ordering a latte to go. read more

Frustratingly- 3 tiny tables monopolized by people working on their laptops, stool seating in blindingly sunlit window (yay sunlight, but too hot & bright for comfort). A nice couch, but in the blinding sun with a couple doing a business meeting on one end, leaving the blindingly bright spot empty. Though I attempted to sit here- was too much and the person after me also tried but vacated. On the side there are concrete steps with small stumps as a table and cushions. Not really inviting anyone to linger. Are we just to look, drink up, stand around and leave? Guess so. Please consider your customer's comfort would love to recommend this spot. read more

Great place to work from and everyone who works there seems nice. You will wait a long time for the food they make in their kitchen though so stick with drinks and pastries. I waited for a tuna sandwich on a slow day for 38 minutes and a breakfast sandwich on a different day for about half an hour. It's fine if you plan to chill there but is very frustrating when you want to get on with your day. Maybe it's just growing pains since they opened recently. read more

I have been a fan of menagerie coffee since day one. I think the staff at the original location is amazing and the coffee is incredible. I decided to try the Northern liberties location just now.. Tuesday October 22, 2:52 pm ...I ordered a short Americano proceeded by a nasty attitude from the barista while schooling me what a short Americano is actually called in Europe, and in America, and how I should order it going forward. Even when I tried to simply smile and sort of go on with payment, she continued to lecture me that what I should be ordering is an ITALIANO. All while I'm standing with my toddler just trying to place an order. 1 I grew up in Europe and Italy 2. I have worked in the coffee industry my whole Life as a bar back , barista , and now in the corporate coffee world . She also burned my milk to the point where now my tongue is numb. I threw out the coffee. 5 dollars plus tip down the drain. I'm only giving this one star review because I would like the owners to take all this into account. I will take this review down once they read it. This was just a really negative experience I was not expecting. And like I said, I am a huge fan of the place. read more
