We're heading to Ashland, but we stopped in Beaverton for a quick lunch. As we're driving around for a parking spot, I saw something on the window, 'chicken'. I thought we'd go there for some to-go, and hubby found a parking spot, just around the corner, in the shade. As he was turning right, I also spotted a 'bakery' written on the window. I was thinking of waiting for him, in the car, and just grab a chicken sandwich. But, after he left, I decided to go inside the bakery to browse. He was standing at the corner, reading the menu of the shop, when I called him to 'Come over here!' [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't know what I just walked in. Ooddles & oodles of cookies, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, like a one-stop bakery, cafe to-go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started to take a video, of the whole shop, but sadly, as I turned it off, I realized I was just turning it ON! Instead of buying one sandwich for each of us, we ended up buying 4 of our 'look scrumptious' pastries that could fill us up. (Photos are not good quality, because I thought I was video-taping it. That's the result!) We each shared everything! We both agreed, it was probably one of the best lunches we've eaten. The pastry were still warm, the cheese in our ham was melting in your mouth. The spinach was just out of the oven. Everything was just wonderful! We will surely stop by here again, and buy twice as much, should last us a week. We will drive 30 minutes one way to come here but after the experience today Sunday February 22nd at 5:00 I think we'll try to find another bakery. My family came in needing to buy slices of cake we were ready to purchase and a line was forming and we were the first in line yet the workers were just standing in the back behind the cakes chatting. No one paid ANYONE in line any attention. We usually have such amazing service, quick, attentive, helpful. But maybe at the end of the day they don't look towards the door or maybe the tea was just too good to stop chatting about. Either way, hope they get trained to know when customers are lined up and ready to buy that they should try to get them taken care of so that lines don't form behind them. read more

We have had good pastries from here in the past. But the birthday cake this year was just AWFUL. The family had a bite each and everyone was wondering if they forgot the sugar or what. When I took most of the cake back...mind you, I dragged this cake corpse BACK TO THE BAKERY because it was just inedible, politely explained it was not up to their usual standards for some reason, and asked for a credit or a gift card to replace it. After about 10 minutes of letting me wait, the worker said he had talked to his boss, that the cake in question "wasn't one they make in-house"; rather they outsource it or some such nonsense. I nodded and reminded him the cake still had the bakery's name on it. And that I hoped they'd do right by me. Long story short, the "boss on the phone" claimed I returned half a cake, and was only entitled to half a refund. That's it. No, "oh my, so sorry, how disappointing, how can we make this up to you!?" And instead of a replacement cake, or a gift card, or anything reasonable, I was told to maybe next time choose a cake they actually made; and that they hope to see me again. 0% chance of that. It would have been SO easy to let me walk out a happy customer; instead, they've lost my business forever and I'm taking the time to tell you and all the world how awful an experience this was. How I heard of this place: While visiting the area, staying at a local Air BnB, we found ourselves drawn to Tous Les Jours after a grocery shopping visit to neighboring Trader Joe's. Glorious cloud cakes and other party (or individual servings!) offerings, including a beautiful selection of macarons can be found in the refrigerated section near the check-out counter. A selection of traditional and novel espresso beverages, as well as non-caffeinated or tea options for those who prefer. I've frequented this bakery a couple times in the past, and decided to see if anything has changed from years ago. The Simple answer is yes. And in a big way! They have upped their game "biggly", compared to another similar rival bakery (who shall remain anonymous). While their rival's pastries have decreased in size and quality, with prices continuing to rise (shrinkflation at its most horrible), Tous Les Jours have stayed the course and in a great way. We stopped in about 30 minutes after opening and the place was fairly empty of patrons. Like the other Korean French bakeries around (85c and Paris Baguette) you take a tray and tongs and select what you want from the case, and checkout up front. You can either have them package the food for you or dine in; we dined in and got a bag for the leftover pieces. The food itself is very much French inspired with puff pastry and croissants; there are a few with Asian fillings like Yuzu and Sausage and Cheese. I don't think they actually make much on site but do more baking from frozen and final fillings/decorations.. everything didn't taste Fresh baked but more frozen baked. Will I go back.. maybe in a pinch for a croissant but I won't ever consider myself a repeat or regular customer. You can rsvp for the cakes online to make sure what you want is available. There was a mistake with the order - the staff mistaken the matcha cloud cake large size to mocha cloud cake. When we get to the bakery, since they no longer have the large size, they gave us the medium cake n let us pick another medium one in different flavors as compensation.
