Food 3/5: Many of the flavors were super watery. I thought maybe one of the machines was just running low, but it was all three that I tried. I ended up with the Dole pineapple and original tart. Mochi is my go-to froyo topping and for some reason theirs just tastes a little strange...I can't quite put my finger on it, but the texture is just slightly off. Service 3/5: The worker seemed a little preoccupied while we were there and it took some effort getting his attention to ask questions. We had gone in for the Cookie Butter flavor advertised in the window and when I asked he said it was "out of stock" but there was no machine that was even labeled for that flavor. Price $$: Considering this place is more pricey than our usual froyo spot, I probably won't be returning. I'd rather drive a few extra minutes for better service and quality. read more

This place is so bad. The management is horrible. All the yogurts are old and reused and nasty. The toppings are stale and sometimes little bugs or flies get in them but management does not care. I've been to several Menchie's locations throughout Los Angeles and they have always been good.. This one though, was not. The yogurt we had here was awful. The consistency was watery and grainy, and didnt taste good at all. The coloring was off as well. My guess is that they water the yogurt down. Both my daughter and I threw ours away. Saturday night we stopped by for frozen yogurt. My first sign that we should've walked away - the samples tasted SO sour. Came here to say on a Friday night and to begin with the store has a B grade suspicious for sure. As soon as we walked in there were hardly any flavors available; additionally, the flavors that were there were so watery and runny it was disgusting. Found a flavor that wasn't too watery and went with that. When it came to the toppings there were no lids/covers. All the toppings were opened and without covers/lids. The "fresh fruit" was anything but. The fruit looked slimy and browned and unappetizing. Finally we went to go pay and the service was less than stellar, no offering of kids or bags. Disappointing first (and last) visit. This was my first time at Menchie's, and unfortunately, it'll be my last. Right off the bat, I noticed that most of the yogurt flavors were already melting as I poured them--definitely not the frozen consistency you expect from a frozen yogurt place. I live in the area and really want to support local businesses. But EVERY TIME we're there, there are between 2 and 4 yogurt dispensers not working. There's mold building by the dispensers, which makes me question how often they are cleaned. The outside tables are filthy. Just very poor management. This was probably the cleanest experience that I've had during this time of covid. Guests had to hand sanitize and wear gloves before being handed a cup. All toppings were placed in little containers to keep things sanitary. Everything looked fresh. I was really impressed. I purchased the tart flavor yogurt ice cream and grabbed the following toppings: gummy worms, strawberries, and cheesecake chunks. Then I topped it off with some white chocolate sauce. It appears that this Menchies has given up doing business in La Mirada. They don't like doing business. It's dirtier, the staff/young people are always on their cell phones and they also start closing out at 7PM. Meaning dumping out all of their flavors. I walked in and the worker was on her phone the entire time we were there, they were out of easily 3 flavors, EVERY SINGLE jar of candy was uncovered and lids aside, and mosquitoes flying around the jars. I've been to Menchies plenty of times but have noticed that the toppings have been cutting down the options. I'm also bummed they don't have the graham cracker one. I like it because it's all crushed up and makes your yogurt a different texture. I'm still glad though that they always have a dairy free option which is the Dole pineapple sorbet. If you haven't tried this one you should because it is a mix between sweetness and tartness together! This location is a pretty busy part of La Mirada, parking can be a little hard during rush hours since it's next to Pieology, Bank Of America and also a small Walmart.
