I was reluctant with crowns in the past due to an unpleasant experience, so I was having second thoughts about doing a crown again even though I needed it urgently. Dr. Malik did an amazing job. Updating my original review as my most recent visit is based on my experience with Dr. Ibrahim Malik, DDS. I won't lie to you, I was bummed when the office called me to say that Dr. Walters, my original dentist for probably the last 3 years, has left the practice and started his own. She also said I could follow him, but his practice is located in Grand Terrace which is quite a trek for me. Although I'll miss him and his awesome personality, I wish him all the best! I ended up rescheduling to a day before my original appointment, with Dr. Malik. I don't remember my hygienist's name, but she was really nice and did a thorough cleaning on my teeth. She was professional, friendly, and even had a suggestion for me to enhance my oral care. I appreciated that! Once she was done with my cleaning, I waited a few minutes before Dr. Malik came in to see me. First impression: he's very mild mannered, friendly and made me feel very welcome. He told me everything I wanted to hear, and that I'm doing a great job keeping my teeth in tip-top shape. Yay!! He shook my hand and I must say... he has the softest hands, lol! I was low-key embarrassed because my scratchy hands are always dry from washing them multiple times a day, especially at work! When my visit was complete, he even offered me some lotion, which I took him up on, haha! Thank you, Dr. Malik and team for a great visit. I will keep returning to this establishment for my oral care, as they make it convenient by offering weekend appointments. I don't think I'll switch to a dentist in AZ (where I currently reside). Amazing Service, Super Clean, and Always Welcoming! I go to Menifee Lakes Dental Group for my dental cleanings and I absolutely love it here! The customer service is amazing -- everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and professional. A few times they've even remembered me when I came in, which made me feel really valued as a patient. The office is always super clean, organized, and very neat, which I really appreciate. It makes the whole experience feel comfortable and stress-free. My dental hygienist, Lauren, is amazing! She always does such a great job and is so kind -- I genuinely look forward to seeing her every visit. I also love that they play movies while you're waiting or during your cleaning -- it's such a nice touch and makes the time go by faster. Parking is right next to Starbucks, so there are only a few spots, but I've always been able to find parking without any problem. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Absolutely worst dental experience of my life. I made an appointment for a cleaning/check up. The did a bunch of xrays and told me I had a really bad cavity that required a crown plus really bad gingivitis that required some special cleaning (more expensive of course). I was in no pain but they pressured me into saying I needed the crown same day because I had mentioned I was going on a trip that weekend and they kept saying I would be in a lot of pain. Conveniently, they had a poster on the wall with the exact crown they said I needed. I declined the same day crown initially and said I would do it in two appointments because that was cheaper and what my insurance covered. They essentially bartered with me and eventually said I could get their same day crown for the price of my insurance. I knew I shouldnt be bartering for a crown and it all felt wrong but reluctantly I agreed. After I got the crown, the tooth was very hot and cold sensitive for months. I went to another dentist who said the only way to fix a bad crown is a root canal. A root canal and $1000+ later, the tooth that never hurt no longer hurts again. I have switched dentists and they say all my teeth look fine and I have no issues. This place is a complete SCAM. read more

Find another dentist!!! Trust me, you don't need this one! I came here to get my wisdom teeth removed. My previous dentist had already confirmed I had 4 wisdom teeth, but this office insisted I only had 3. I originally scheduled my appointment in November and was quoted about $507 out of pocket. I understood my insurance wouldn't cover everything. Unfortunately, I had to cancel. When I rescheduled, the estimate went up to $600. They said it was because of what they believed my insurance wouldn't cover. I had to reschedule again for March, and now the estimate was over $700. I repeatedly asked for an itemized breakdown of what insurance would cover and what I owed. Every time I was told they would email it by the end of the day. That email never came. On the day of my surgery, my brother dropped me off and was picking me up afterward. They refused to let him leave to get coffee from McDonald's or Starbucks, both literally next door. Instead, they suggested he DoorDash or Uber Eats coffee. My brother and I couldn't believe it. We would've understood if it had been explained respectfully, but the front desk employee, Princess, had a nasty attitude from the start and was rude the entire time. Then, during surgery, guess what they found? A fourth wisdom tooth. The exact one I told them I had from the beginning and the one my previous dentist had already confirmed. They asked my brother, who was not authorized to make medical or financial decisions for me, if they could remove it and add it to my bill. He agreed because they told him otherwise I'd have to come back for another surgery. My total became $762, and I enrolled in a payment plan. Before making my first payment, I specifically asked Princess if paying early would stop the automatic withdrawal. She said yes. I paid $110 a week early, yet they still withdrew $94.25 on the due date.When I called, Princess told me I needed to notify the billing department if I paid early. Princess never told me that or gave me a billing number.Later, my insurance Explanation of Benefits showed I should've only owed about $590. I called, and Princess admitted they had underestimated what insurance would cover but couldn't tell me my new balance. Once again, she promised an email. It never came. Every time I called, I got a different answer. Some employees didn't know, others promised emails or callbacks that never happened. I finally went into the office in person. Princess blamed the lack of communication on no one telling her I called and said she had been on vacation. I wasn't looking for excuses. I just wanted my balance and final payment amount. She told me insurance had paid about $130 more, making my balance $632, and that my final payment in June would be around $33. Instead, they charged me $94.25 in June and another $94.25 in July.When I called again, they suddenly said July was my last payment and my total bill was now $787. How did my balance go from $762 to $787? Again, I requested an itemized bill. Again, I was promised it by the end of the day. That was two weeks ago. I still haven't received it.When I finally spoke with Princess again, she first said I'd receive a credit, then changed it to a refund within 10 days. Between the constantly changing balances, failure to provide billing information, poor communication, and Princess's rude attitude, this was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I've had. Okay I'm so sorry, I've never once taken time out of my day to leave a review (good or bad) for anything, but since Menifee Lakes Dental Group already wasted an hour of my time today, I'll spend the next few minutes sharing why. First of all, moved to Menifee recently so I switched dentists. Loved my old dentist, they never once tried to sell me anything. I religiously get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and have never had to pay a dime, insurance covers two dental exams and cleanings per year. I also take very good care of my teeth. So 6 months ago, went to Menifee Lakes Dental Group with low expectations and had a decently good experience. Dentist (Kyle Poulsen) I saw raved about how nice my teeth were and didn't sell me anything. Got my regular cleaning and left happy and willing to return. Fast forward to now, went to Menifee Lakes Dental Group for the second time expecting a good experience like last time. Just wanted to get my regular 6 month cleaning. Saw a different dentist (Parul Ahuja) who "diagnosed" me with something that needed to be addressed differently, and therefore refused to give me a regular cleaning. She said I had to get some long drawn out laser cleaning treatment that would cost me money. I'm sorry, but I've never paid a dime for a cleaning in my life. I decline and asked for my regular cleaning, of which they refused to do. So there I was, sitting in a chair for an hour while dentist and insurance agent took turns denying me a regular cleaning of which my insurance covers. I left there extremely disappointed to have made child care arrangements for an hour long drawn out "conversation" and denial of a regular teeth cleaning. Menifee Lakes Dental Group, do better. Stop trying to sell these treatments when all we really come in for is a regular cleaning. I am a very well educated woman who can read right through the selling of unnecessary treatments. I'm updating my review because it's important to address what I believe was unethical conduct and a strong focus on making money rather than providing appropriate care. After my disappointing experience at MLDG, I sought treatment from another dentist for teeth #20 and #19. Tooth #20: In October 2025, I received a root canal and the tooth was prepared for a crown. My dental records contain no notes indicating that I might need an implant. Dr. Malik told me the procedure was successful and that the tooth was ready for the permanent crown, stating it should last for years. However, after seeking a second opinion, I was told that tooth #20 lacks sufficient structure and that I need an implant. I have since been referred to a prosthodontist for further evaluation and continued work. Tooth #19: there was decay on this tooth, and Dr. Malik recommended an onlay, which I proceeded with in October 2025. However, the second dentist determined that the tooth actually required a crown, which I ultimately had placed with them. Based on this, the onlay that Dr. Malik did was unnecessary. read more

Worst temporary crowns I ever had and believe me, I have had quite a few. Will not comment on the quality of the work done until the work is finished but I had to sign a disclaimer that the finished treatment may not be what I expected. You only see an actual dentist when you are getting an extraction or a crown, otherwise you are treated by an assistant who is not a dentist. Office personnel are not pleasant & are not helpful (not professionally looking either- nose rings, tattoos). I wish I could go elsewhere but, for now I am kind of stuck with this place. The front desk staff were very friendly and I had a very short wait to be called to the back. We were looking for a good dental office that would take good care of us. We thought we found it with Menifee Lakes dental group. After going for an exam they determined we needed teeth pulled and my husband had two old cavities needing replacing. They talked him into these new and improved white fillings that can be done same day . We were negligent and forgot to ask if they were covered. Of course they were not:( Then we both supposedly had three teeth between us with an infection needing to be pulled asap . So we did everything they recommended . They never called to check up on us like other dentists on the next day. Also, they don't want us back for a cleaning for six months when we need a cleaning now.???? After going home, we started thinking about our past dental experiences and how I had previously went to a dentist with an infected achy tooth. He would not do anything till he got rid of the infection first .?? It was definitely pressure to do as they asked. This place is an unethical SCAM. I am hoping, I can save even one person from this place and their wallet. They are thieves, dishonest, and the list goes on. I will begin by saying, the front office staff is very nice and friendly, as is everyone in the office. However, that is the only good thing that I have to say about this business. I had a crown that came off of my tooth and I called them to make an appointment. My first step was to go in the back to have an x-ray of the tooth that the crown had came off. I had the crown in a baggie. I handed it to the gal who took the x-ray. She fit the old crown back on my tooth, looked at the x-ray and said, looks good, we should be able to cement the crown back on. I was relieved. Next, I go into the exam room and I tell the dentist I prefer to have the tooth extracted because it is in a place where nobody can see it. He said, no you need a crown because if you don't, your teeth will shift. I'm thinking, that's fine. I'm 63. It's OK if my teeth move. Again, it's in a spot where you cannot even see the tooth. I handed Dr. Walter's the crown and he looked at it and said oh this is cracked. It was not cracked or the girl who took the x-ray would have said something. I also had shown my uncle, a retired oral surgeon, so I could get an opinion before my appointment. He looked at the crown before I went in for my appointment. He confirmed it was good. Well, Dr. Walters insisted it was cracked. He never showed me. He just told me that I needed a new crown and that's what he was doing, as he would not extract the tooth. He left the room and sent in a girl to go over the price with me. She told me the price, told me how much my insurance would pay and what my cost would be. I had no choice other than to say yes as I was in great pain, They had me sign, saying that I accept the services and I will be responsible for the payment. She took my credit card right away and ran $1170.00. Which is the amount she told me it would be. After I paid, Dr. Walters started the procedure . I've never paid for a procedure before it was done so that too was off. ***Only for the new crown to pop off in a very short time*** A couple of months maybe I'm not sure of the time. I'm just adding that because when I went back to have them re-cement it on, they had the nerve to charge my insurance company $21 for their failure at workmanship. Last week, I was looking up some information on my insurance and I just happen to look at my dental explanation of benefits. Well lo and behold, it said the patient responsibility was $331.00. I immediately called my insurance company, and told them I paid $1170,00 and they too were baffled. The insurance representative on the phone called the dental office with me on the phone. The girl who answered the phone said, that I had chosen an upgrade. I was livid. I was never even given a choice of options. It never occurred to me that there would be other options than the one they gave me. I thought the price they told me was the only option. Come to find out they have other options, but they chose not to disclose them to me. I cannot even believe this place is still in business. My insurance company will be filing a complaint. read more

Well, I would give this place a NO star review...I had made an appointment for a tooth that was hurting me, got in there they had me fill out a ton of paperwork and asking questions that really did not need to be answered. They took xray's then sat me in a room, then when the dentist came in, she NEVER laid my chair back to look into my mouth she just walked in and said, "I need to pull the tooth and do a bone graft" I will have the girl come in to give you the cost of all that. Then she walked out of the room, the girl whom was doing the finance part came in and I told her I wanted the dentist to explain more to me because I didn't understand why she needed to do a bone graft. Yes I have bone lose but why couldn't she just pull the tooth without the bone graft. So the dentist came back in and told me she couldn't do it without the bone graft because it would leave a hole....so by time we got everything set for the pricing it came to $3000.00 for one tooth, so I told them I didn't want a General just a local with laughing gas...that changed the price to $2300.00. She told me there was a program called Smile Generation dental plan that would help discount some of the cost. I was just floored of the price to take this tooth out. I then left paying $59.00 for that visit and went home a looked over the smile generation plan.. Called them the next day because none of the things that they were going to be doing to me was on the list. I called and had them send me their 16 page list with codes on all that is covered here in California. I then bought into the plan. Called to let the dentist office know I signed up for that plan. They then re-calculated the bill, which lucky me it was now $1800.00. I set the appt up to have the tooth pulled. It was a 9:30am Appt. I still need to go in and get the price printed out for my records and to make sure they were giving me all the price's that were on the Smile generation plan. Two days later I get this call from "Princess" asking me if I signed up for the care credit plan and I told her NO I'm not doing that, you guys are handing out, out dated information on that it is not 14% interest it is 32% interest...So no I don't need to take that, I did sign up with smile generation plan, she then ask me in a very smart ass attitude WELL HOW DO YOU INTEND TO PAY FOR THIS....I was floored with her attitude, laughing saying well it won't be with CARE CREDIT....my credit card, she then had more of her little attitude and said ok, well the reason why I was calling you is that you have to be here at 8am I ask her why 8am? my appt is at 9:30am she then tells me the dentist wants you here at 8am SHARP. I took a great Offense on the way she just assumed that her attitude and her demanding for me to be there at 8am. I okayed her knowing that I was less then 3 mins for their office and I was getting off the phone with her and driving over there. Which I did, took my older daughter with me. I walk in and stood at the counter just waiting for someone to help me. There was only one person in the waiting room at this time. This girl came to help me and I ask her if I could have a print out of what was going to be my bill after my tooth was pulled (you know the Estimate.) She claimed she didn't understand what I wanted, so my daughter explained what I was wanting. She then was showing a great attitude...MY EYES got big and I said, "You are the one I just got off the phone with, you just called me not ten minutes ago, she claimed she didn't know what I was talking about...I ask to speak to a manager she said she was in a meeting, I then ask her for her name and that I would be calling to talk to the manager. LOW AND BEHOLD HER NAME IS PRINCESS....she looked at my daughter and I and said "can you go sit down because I have other people to help" there was now two people behind us waiting to check in....I replied with NO WE CAN'T I WILL BE CALLING YOUR MANAGER.. Got home and called to speak to the manager, left a message with the girl that was helping me the day I have my first visit. I also let her know to cancel my appointment to get my tooth pulled, that I am not doing business with you guys after what just happened today. Manager called me back very shortly after that. Spoke to her and informed her with everything that went on. That included the pricing that had been changed upping their pricing before the discounted price that was set in.... Just where they can get more money.... They called to have me do a questionnaire prior to the appointment where I also disclosed I'm pregnant and no issue, they called me 48 hours prior to make sure I'm coming and I said yes and pregnant they said no problem. My dear fellow Menifee residents... this place is a SCAM! They will upcharge you, sell you expensive services that you don't need, and have you book MANY appointments when all you should need is one. 1. BOOKING MANY APPTS: At my first appt, I expected to have my X-rays and cleaning, like I have with the last 3 dentists I've established care with. No. Here, you get the X-rays and a description of a treatment plan, but no cleaning. You have to book ~another 2 appointments~ for your cleaning, because they do only HALF of your mouth at a time. What other dental practice does this? None that I know of. I asked about my follow-up appt in 6 months and if that would be a cleaning. No, it wouldn't be - it's just a check-up! Who runs a dental practice like this? I don't have time to make so many trips to the dentist. 2. UPCHARGING: Based on my dental insurance, I should have paid $0 out-of-pocket for a cleaning. I was told that I needed a deep cleaning and scaling. This would be $184... out of pocket... for HALF of my mouth. Not only that, it was actually for cleaning anywhere from 2-6 teeth. See screenshot attached. I paid $184 for cleaning 2-6 teeth!!! When I usually pay $0 for an entire cleaning!!! My previous 3 dentists have never stated that I needed deep cleaning, so I suspect that this wasn't actually needed at all. 3. SELLING YOU EXPENSIVE SERVICES: Laser treatment was included in my dental plan as a matter of course. The cost - an added whopping $270 - is what made me ask to remove it. I work in a private practice and I know that providers get to set their own rates. Whatever insurance won't cover, the company gets directly, as you pay out-of-pocket. In other words, they don't have to wait to be reimbursed by insurance, and this incentivizes them to upcharge. This company is essentially lining their pockets and profiting off clients' goodwill and naivety. If I had just gone along with their plan, I would have paid $900 in all... for cleaning not my entire mouth, but 4-12 teeth... when I usually pay $0. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I will probably never get my $184 back, but SAVE YOURS!! All the points I mentioned (them only cleaning half your mouth, etc) are mentioned in other reviews too. Kyle Paulson has been an amazing dentist for routine cleaning. He always makes small talk and makes you feel welcome. I had such a good experience that I recommended my husband go here as well. Unfortunately, he had a wisdom tooth removal procedure last week and we are very disappointed with how everything went. First off, the staff told me someone would give me clear instructions on aftercare, and there was none given. Secondly, when I was called to pick him up, I arrived, was told to go to the pickup area and wait for him to be wheeled out. I waited 10 mins, went back to the front desk, and asked "did I park in the right spot? I'm still here." They instructed me that I was, and I went back to wait. Another 15-20 mins, still nothing. I went back inside and the front said "what? You're still here?" And I went back for a third time to finally pick him up. He was visibly upset for waiting for so long (especially in pain from a procedure) and I was frustrated as well. I still wasn't given any instructions on aftercare except for a paper. Lastly, due to no instructions given, I wasn't aware of his prescriptions and did not pick it up until days later. Now, his mouth his flaring up in more pain. Overall, communication was terrible during a big procedure like this. I want to write this review to make them aware that I wished our experience was better. Do not go here! This dentist office doesn't care about your oral care. They only care about money. How much they can get out of you. They upsell you for everything. My husband and I have been overcharged for cleanings and now my Mom has been deceived. She went in for a repair and came out with tooth extractions and a partial that has cost her over $2,000! When she asks questions to clarify because they keep Asking her for money, they are rude and evasive. This is why avoid the dentist. So sad. read more

I am so pleased with my experience here! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. I had to bring my 4mo old daughter in while getting a crown, the staff helped me keep her distracted while I was getting my procedure done! She loved them and they loved her, I am so thankful to have found such a great dentist office! While waiting for the crown to be made in house I took a nap in the dental chair, it was supposed to take 40 minutes. I woke up over an hour later with a blanket on me, lights off, and door closed. Everyone let me sleep being a new mom they said they new I could use it. This place is a ripoff. Their number one goal is to upcharge you once you are already in the chair. It is obvious that this dentist is only out to get money from patients. Their "cash" price for a deep cleaning is over $2000 so even after insurance, the cost was still almost $1000. To top it off, with all the money they are scamming from their patients with their high prices, the front desk is poorly staffed and you wait a minimum of 10 minutes on hold every time you call. Had a pretty bad fall on a Saturday night and by Sunday morning I was in pain and had a broken front tooth. Dr. Moretta and staff was able to squeeze me in on a Sunday morning to help get me fixed up. Getting a shot I the front of the mouth on the top usually hurts so bad but Dr. Moretta was so gentle and kind. So thankful for Sunday hours. read more

My recent experience at this dental office raised serious concerns about their treatment and ethical practices. What I expected to be a routine cleaning and check up turned into a two-hour appointment of just X-rays, painful gum probing, and pressure to undergo an unnecessary two-day deep cleaning procedure (scaling and planing) with anesthesia. I have had many periodontal exams before, but this was the first time I experienced severe pain during the supposed pocket depth checks. My pain was ignored, and I felt shocked and scared. I was later told it was due to inflammation, though my gums aren't tender and do not bleed during flossing or other routine cleanings. Instead, I was forcefully prodded for extended periods of time and made to bleed in areas farther from the pockets and gum lines. They wanted to schedule the first half of the scaling and planing procedure later that day without even reviewing informed consent. It was very rushed. As a healthcare provider, I am well aware of ethical standards in treatment, and this experience left me feeling manipulated and abused. I've been scammed by a dental office before, and this felt alarmingly similar. If you're being pressured into multiple deep cleaning appointments, I urge you to reconsider, decline, and seek treatment elsewhere. After reading other reviews, it unfortunately seems my experience was not unique- many patients do not even get a standard cleaning because it seems they know from the beginning that they will push their selling of the laser treatment with the expensive and extreme deep cleaning (scaling and planing). read more
