I am saddened to see my current experience in realtime is unfolding in much the same manner that I see listed here! There's so many things I could share as I currently sit in the waiting room as my daughter is being seen. I am a firm believer that word of mouth is the best advertisement but unfortunately due to the unfavorable experience that I'm currently having and other incidents I have witnessed while sitting here, Murrieta Modern Dentistry will not get a rave review nor will they get anymore of my business. It's unfortunate that in the current state the world is in that you have people who are seeking to maintain their health and oral hygiene just to be "scammed" at the dentist and treated poorly while spending their hard earned money. There is no transparency in pricing and some of the staff lack decorum and business acumen and could obviously use some assistance in the realm of accounting as well. I have to call out directly the most unprofessional of them all, Theresa! My hope is that as oppose to this being another dental business that closes due to their unsavory practices; that they read these reviews, take some training in customer service, and reevaluate their "deals" and business practices! It's unfortunate that as I sit and wait for my daughter to finish her appointment I am sitting in a waiting room as the staff sit here looking sideways because I called them on their unprofessionalism. Do better by the patients you claim to want to help! This was absolutely horrible experience and there will be no recommendations other than take heed to what patients are sharing and make changes. Before choosing this dentist, I wish I had read the reviews. I arrived early for my appointment, hoping to be seen on time and leave early. Instead, I waited over 2 1/2 hours. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The front desk staff Amiee and a tall lady with braces, I couldn't see her name badge never greeted or acknowledged me when I arrived. While patients were waiting, they were busy chatting and laughing among themselves instead of checking on patients or providing updates about the delay. Not even ask if I needed to use the restroom or ask if I need water. After a long wait. I was intimidated by them if I ask how much longer to be seen. After I had already checked in and signed the sign-in sheet, Amiee asked me to sign in again. When I politely explained that I had already done so, she seemed annoyed and responded with an attitude. There was a noticeable lack of professionalism and basic customer service. What concerned me even more was that I was told I needed to pay for a service that my insurance actually covers. It appeared that no one had taken the time to verify my benefits. Fortunately, I had called my insurance company before my appointment, so I knew the service was covered. Had I not done that, I would have been overcharged. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've encountered this type of issue at a dental office, and it's disappointing that it's becoming so difficult to find a dentist you can trust. Overall, my experience was very disappointing. The staff, including the doctor, did not come across as friendly or welcoming. I will paraphrase to not drag this out: I had a very frustrating experience with the dental hygienist at this office. I went in expecting a routine cleaning that is covered by my insurance, but was immediately told I "needed" a periodontal treatment along with additional tratments that would cost over $2,000 and was not covered by insurance. I explained multiple times that I was not prepared to move forward with that treatment and simply wanted a basic cleaning that day. Despite this, the hygienist repeatedly insisted that the additional procedure was necessary and refused to proceed without it. The pressure felt excessive and inappropriate, especially when I made it clear I wanted time to review my options. What made the situation worse was the dismissive tone when I explained that I prioritize my family's care first. Instead of respecting my decision, I was met with continued pushback and analogies that felt out of place and unhelpful. Even when I tried to proceed with a basic cleaning, the quoted cost was still over $300 due to add-ons I did not agree to. Ultimately, I chose to leave and found another dentist who honored my insurance-covered cleaning without any pressure or upselling. I do want to note that the dentist himself was professional, courteous, and transparent during our interaction. Based on that alone, I would have considered returning. However, the experience with the hygienist made that impossible. I would recommend this office take a closer look at how treatment recommendations are communicated. My family and I have been patients at this dental office for several years, but our recent visit raised serious concerns about their scheduling, billing practices, and overall patient care. My husband and I scheduled a routine checkups and cleanings, but when we arrived, we were told they had overbooked the cleanings and we would need to reschedule for a proper cleaning. However, they still had time to discuss additional costly dental work and that the dentist was available for the procedures, which made it feel like preventive care was not the priority. They also did not let us know ahead of time that they would be closed on July 3. When I asked about my daughter's cleaning that day, I was told they were closed and she could come in on July 1 to see the hygienist, but she never saw the hygienist. Instead, she only had her teeth polished and flossed by a new assistant who struggled with the X-rays. The office then billed our insurance as if a full cleaning had been completed. When I called to question the charge, they blamed my daughter for not telling the front desk what services she did not receive. They told me she could come back another time for a cleaning. I had to call and ask them to remove the cleaning charge. After declining the extra services, we felt dismissed and given the cold shoulder. My overall experiences at Murrieta Modern Dentistry are phenomenal! My visits are timely, effective, and enjoyable :) I would like to recognize Shelby for being an excellent dental hygienist. Not only is she extraordinarily keen and thorough at doing her job, but she is also convivial company to have. She's just an overall great individual! Doctor Price is great as well with how informative and straight to the point she is - all while naturally being a nice and friendly person. 10/10 will recommend this dentistry to my peers! Use your discernment when visiting this dentist or any other practices for that matter. There are good and bad reviews about this place, but I on the other hand had a phenomenal experience. There are people that claim that this dental practice tries to "sell" as many things as possible to you. I am not sure if that is true or not, but when it comes to my experience I have never seen it as such. If a procedure that is recommended deems unnecessary to you for whatever reason it may be... simply deny it and move on. It's that simple! This place started great a couple years ago, but has really gone downhill. Minimum appointment is 2 hours. Is there a reason... not that we can tell. One of their new dentists is really going to do anything to get a payment. My wife has never had a cavity ever in 40+ years. Goes every 6 months. I went in for an exam and routine cleaning. After the evaluation, I was told I had some periodontal pockets (including 5mm on back teeth) and bone loss. However, the findings were not clearly explained to me -- specifically, whether the bone loss was localized or generalized, or how severe it was based on the X-rays. I was told I must proceed with full-mouth scaling and root planing, and that a regular cleaning would not be provided unless I agreed to the deep cleaning. My tooth is not painful and only mildly sensitive to cold, yet I was also given a very expensive treatment plan, including a crown, without first discussing more conservative or staged options. I felt rushed to make decisions without enough time or clarity to fully understand the necessity of each treatment. Since I wasn't comfortable proceeding without clearer explanations, I chose to leave without receiving even a basic cleaning. I had an appointment the other day to get my teeth cleaned. When I arrived no patients or anyone for that matter were in the waiting room. I checked in and was told to have a seat. Patients started to arrive shortly after I did and I sat there wondering why the front desk had not addressed me after awhile as they were late on my appointment - after 15 minutes from my appointment time I approached the front desk stating they were running, now 20 minutes behind, as my appointment was suppose to be at 3:30. They seemed surprised by my statement as no one was paying attention to the schedule - ahh, now I understood why I'm sitting around for nothing and also why no one acknowledged my waiting after check-in. i was told let me check in the back and see what is going on. She was gone for awhile... came back and said she will be with you shortly she is setting up your room now Finally get into the chair 30 minutes late and hygienist bounced in and starts to make small talk which I'm in no mood for at this point - she did not acknowledge why my appointment ran 30 minutes late, offered no explanation or apology, which pissed me off more. She starts my appointment and a few minutes later says " you have a co-pay" for this cleaning. I replied no, I've never had a co-pay for cleanings in years. Hygienist excused herself and said let me look into it for you. She came back with the front desk chick and she starts her speech and I stop her in her tracks and ask her what do my benefits offer - she said two cleanings and you have had them already. I said well you should not have scheduled this appointment then - it's your bad. You should be fully aware of my benefits and what I've had done so far this year, right? When you booked my appointment you should have told me if I booked the cleaning their would be a co-pay as it will be an additional service as you've used your benefits. Long story short, I would not have made the appointment. Then she's like, let's re-book you for January - I'm like I'm not sure I'm staying with this place, and left. Let's recap- 1. they booked an appointment outside of my available benefits and said nothing. 2. When I checked in, front desk should have advised of co-pay and sought to collect it themselves, instead of leaving it to the hygienist to inform and collect payment - wtf? 3. If front desk had said something at check-in, I would of left right there and then instead of waisting 40 minutes of my time there plus my travel time. 4. So after making me wait 30 minutes, then another 10 in the chair, then the verbal circus conversation, front desk is like let me move everything so you can get up - really!? What should have happened would be - profuse apologies from desk chick or office mgr., waiving the co-pay as it was their bad and finish cleaning my teeth. Nope - it was more like, let me move stuff so you can get up and leave... OMG - not my first issue with this place, I complained in past [like this] and office mgr. called me to say give us another chance. The complaint back then was regarding pricing transparency and ridiculous fee cost. My husband is a veteran, fixed income, cancer and transplant patient. They gave him a $9000.+ estimate after his first visit, haaaahaaa and part of that estimate was they were charging $675. for Lazer treatment on a deep cleaning for him that was recommended, of course it was, lol. OMG, ridiculous numbers. Because of his fragile health we usually will have the Lazer done for bacteria/infection presumptive protection for him and I've never paid more than $150. for it, at other dentist offices we've been patients at in the past. My husband never went back, and has received zero treatment since then from this place. I also had an unprofessional experience with their periodontist, I left and told the manager, then, she will never work on my mouth going forward. Moral of my story - decide for yourself if this place is for you. Watch the pricing, know your benefits and expect very little organization or leadership here. Avoid this place by all means. To start off it's very unorganized, we had arrived 20 minutes before the appointment time and still had to wait 30 minutes past the appointment time. The appointment is for a dental exam for getting wisdom teeth removed to see what the price point would be. They do the exam on my girlfriend and say she has 3 cavities, and talks about how extreme the wisdom teeth procedure would be. My girlfriend asks for a cost estimate breakdown of everything (I told her to do this due to poor reviews I saw before appointment), they are price gouging at every point possible. She's told they have a treatment that reverses cavities (? That doesn't exist, there's a preventative treatment for cavities but not reversal) that would be close to 300$ per tooth. They become very pushy about setting up an appointment and payment plan after she told them she would like to wait and discuss it with me. Finally after the 3rd time of pushing it she asks me to come back to talk with the front desk person (no idea what kind of certifications they have to be discussing treatment options) and I tell her to give me an itemized cost breakdown to look over, she quickly agrees and we get out of there. All in all -10/10 experience, we're now using signature dental, they've quoted us 5000$ less and were much more kind and considerate, and also gave a proper diagnosis showing how she doesn't even have cavities that require treatment or a root canal since they're early onset. Summary: this place is a price gouging money hungry place. Stay away. Go to signature dental. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Brought my family of 5 for routine dental exam and cleaning over the last few weeks. Only three of us children received cleanings, one of children had a lower gum issues due to braces that were removed years ago. They required us to make an appointment for a gum specialist that's contracted out that's only available on certain days of the month at their office. Made the appointment which was weeks later along with being told of a $100 non cancellation charge. Which we made for weeks later, had to take time off of work and pull my child out of school. Went inside for the visit today at check in the front desk said the gum specialist is in today.....the dentist's came in to verify everything was still the same from the initial exam. Left, came right back in and did the gum examination himself. This was the same dentist that did my child's initial exam weeks ago.....after his gum examination he stated my daughter needed. her wisdom teeth pulled first prior to any gum treatment, which was never stated in the initial examination weeks prior by the same dentist, when at that time he stated her wisdom teeth where fine. I asked where the gum specialist was he said they're not in today. We were told by the dentist that we will be seen by a gum specialist......not him will never return. read more

The cap/crown came off A day after the facility placed the cap on my husband's tooth. I checked their website and it shows that they are open on a Saturday from 8am-3pm. However, when I tried calling them to check if they can assist my husband, they told me that they are closed. So this facility is giving wrong information to the public. I also tried getting an emergency appt for Saturday (today) but the earliest they could give me is Thursday (5days after) how can that be an emergency appt. An emergency appt is immediate and not more than 24 hrs after a dental problem. This is the worst dental facility. Do not go here. read more

I made appointments for exams and SPECIFICALLY cleanings for my daughter and I as to exhaust my dental benefits before the year was out..We both have dental coverage through my employer (I even tiered up to the most costly plan offered). I made us both appointments- upon arrival I asked "I am scheduled for a cleaning correct?". The receptionist hesitated then said yes. A second time before going back, I asked about a deep cleaning, that reception stuttered and said yes again. After gettng to the back office I saw the Dentist, we chatted about the visit And what it would entail. She mentioned I would be getting "Saliva testing that your insurance will cover", then I sat through a litany of X-rays and digital pictures. I confirmed again with the back office assistant that I would getting a cleaning. Long story short. The place is a SCAM. They undoubtedly billed my dental plan for tons of x-rays, "saliva testing" and photos. They made referrals to the oral surgeon and endodontist. When I asked the Dentist what was going on and when will I have my teeth cleaned, she disappeared and never returned. They told me my cleaning would be $740. I said every plan covers a basic exam and cleaning, for prevention. Nobody said one word. I told them to cancel my daughter's appointment and they were a waste of time and my dental plan's money. This place had no intention of cleaning my teeth. They did nothing but EXTRA to squeeze what they could from my dental plan. I will be grieving this provider & services with my dental plan formally. Could been longer but I left. Ok, maybe they had a computer issue etc. But maybe have someone come in and check on me ? The day before I gave them my policy and group number . I just moved from Utah to Murrieta and needed a new dentist, and picked Jason Antonio at this practice that is located near me and was covered by my Scan Medicare Advantage plan. I did read some reviews which were not glowing, but others were good. After my first visit today for a cleaning and checkup, I'm very happy with my choice. The office staff were friendly and knowledgable. The equipment and systems in their office was much more up-to-date than my previous dentist had. They did an amazing job with the cleaning. I have two partial dentures, with the lower one obvously broken and needing to be repaired or replaced. I chose an option I didn't know was available, which eliminates all metal and eliminates the wear points which were going to eventually lead to the probably loss of the anchor teeth. Then they arranged a payment plan I could afford to cover the part my insurance didn't cover. They have a new customer for life! read more

As a patient and nursing practitioner, I recently visited Murrietta Modern Dentistry for a cleaning appointment. During the appointment, I expressed my preference for a surface-level cleaning and polish, but the hygienist insisted on a deep cleaning and would not consider any other options. When I declined the deep cleaning, I was met with a dismissive response of "we can't help you." I am disappointed with the lack of patient-centered care at this practice. As healthcare professionals, we work collaboratively with patients to find the best course of treatment rather than push unnecessary procedures for profit. It is crucial to have open communication and respect for patient autonomy. Unfortunately, my experience at Murrietta Modern Dentistry was far from ideal. The practice seemed more interested in making money than providing quality care. It is unacceptable for a dental office to disregard a patient's preferences and needs in favor of pushing treatments. I have decided to file a complaint with the Dental Hygiene Board of California and Dental Board of California regarding the hygienist named "Shelby." During the exam, Dr. Shah was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain everything she was doing and answer any questions I had. She was friendly, approachable, and clearly very knowledgeable. She made sure that I was comfortable as I get extremely anxious and nervous when I visit a dentist. Horrible business practices where hard pressure sales are what they rely on. A simple dental cleaning ended up in an "out of pocket" expense that totally nearly $1000. When pressed back against it results in a 45 minute delay and then the excuse the the technician is out to lunch. What did they want extra for that $1000? A deeper deep cleaning that isn't covered under insurance, a mouth guard when I said I don't snore but "my wife is too passive too to me", a special mouth wash treatment, and a lazor cleaning of my teeth. Was it necessary? They said, "no... but you should do it for your health!" Mind you, it was told to them that cancer recently affected me and they really tried to milk me for everything. Squeezing that rock for water if you will. Horrible experience. Horrible "used automotive" sales person vibes and rude responses to declining their ''much needed care. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and they said everything was fine. Why would a new business be so hungry for money instead of long term customers? Don't come here unless you want to be SCAMMED . I was referred here by my dentist for a possible root canal. Before I left the consult they told me the work I needed would cost me out of pocket $200. For a protectant that my insurance didn't cover. When I checked in for the appointment they again told me I would pay $200. I was taken to the room and numbed. Only AFTER I was numbed they came back to me with a quote for $1200!!!!!!!! I carry duel insurances. My primary is great insurance. They told me it was because my insurance wouldn't cover the porcelain crown and this was a ""luxury" service. They said "no insurances cover crowns other than metal. I was already waiting over an hour to get started when I came in an hour early like they had asked so I pulled up my insurance coverage. ALL CROWNS WERE COVERED COMPLETELY. VENEERS ARE $500. They continued to assure me it wasn't covered. I left the office. It didn't sit right with me. I called my insurance with a numb mouth. They confirmed it was all covered. $0 co pay for any crown from just one of my plans. My insurance called the office where they lied to the insurance agent about it being a same day crown so it was an office charge. They told me specifically the same day crown would only cost $100 more and gave me an in office discount if $100. Scam artists. And they waited until after I was numbed thinking I would just go with it. The quote for insurance was over $7800 for a root canal and crown!! Insanity. Scam artist at their finest. Want me to pay $200 worth of cleaning on top of my very good insurance coverage (which they already paid $200 xray/imaging and $100 worth of cleaning). The $200 they were asking for was just Laser and some mouth wash. Dental cleaning should not cost this much. I got out of paying these crazy fees by telling them I do not consent for this. Please always ask how much the procedures/imaging cost before letting them do anything on you. Also, this office tactics is only to look for root canal procedure and periodontitis. They are willing to sacrifice ethics for your money. read more

Brand new office in my area. Went to check them out and the service was great. The front office team were so friendly and the office is so clean. The assistants were very nice and gentle and focused on my concerns. I got a deep cleaning and a onlay all done in one day! Dr Antonio was great and great chair side manner. I urge patients not to go to this Dental office if you need dentures. I was a patient of Dr. Antonio's and it took him 4 attempts to complete a bottom denture and in the last attempt it was still crooked and not lined up with top teeth. In order to get my teeth done correctly, I was asked to pay an additional 225.00 for the lab fee when it was his mistake. He needs money to pay all the people that work there and he to get's a hefty payck. Very sad! read more
