At first I thought the associate was rude, but after seeing how the manager spoke to her, I felt bad. He was so red and angry I honestly wasn't sure if he was going to have a stroke. I had a great experience the other day with the Capitola store. My son had an event that required "Business/formal" attire. I don't dress like this, but I knew where to go and who could help me. I took my son there once before for his 18th birthday a couple years ago to get styled out with some new clothes. We were helped by Joe who really seemed to know his stuff and we ended up having a great time. So, I was hoping to find him again. I've read some really bad reviews here but that wasn't the case for me. I went in yesterday to get a couple of nice shirts, etc...Will immediately greeted me and went to work. Extremely courteous and nice, it was the quickest and most pleasant experience I've had in a while. Unless I just got there in a very lucky day where all the employees were in a good mood, but I highly doubt it. Worst experience ever! Went in there where 4 associates No one ever came to us not once. Walked around a good 20 mins and still nothing. They would rather talk to each other than help us. I went here today to get a suit for my sisters wedding and I came in on a great time! Because they had a sale going on, I originally wanted to rent a suit, but I bought one instead after seeing so many options available. They were limited when it came to rentals. I got a navy blue 3-piece suit for only $221 dollars. I couldn't pass up that deal. The staff was extremely helpful. I needed to get my measurements and Aiden or Adia (I believe was his name) was very patient and showed me various options of navy blue suits. My son and I went to the Capitola location on a Thursday night and we greeted by Joe. My son needed a tux in a hurry and he knew exactly what he needed and picked out a perfect fit. Poor poor ustomer service. I just called to get a receipt for a past return. The guy on the phone said they don't print receipts for past returns when I called the Monterey Men's Wearhouse 10 mins prior and said they would print it. Unfortunately I live closer to Capitola. The one on the phone as well as the manager seemed to not want to be bothered with customer service and doing the most simple task or either printing a receipt or taking a picture of the receipt order. Just bought a new casual suit for a summer wedding here and had the best experience! I had heard from friends to ask for Joe Oliveira, and luckily he was working when I went in. He immediately made me feel comfortable and he totally knew what he was doing. I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and I quickly had some samples to try on. After trying a few things on per Joe's recommendation I had my perfect suit all picked out. I probably spent less than an hour here and walked away with a great deal! Overall I got a sports coat, pants, shirt, pocket silk, and socks for $213. I thought this was a really great deal for the quality of all clothes! Woah, this was my first time going to a tailor and it was the day before my event. Got there early and even when they were unprepared they took my measurements and found something that looked like me in seconds. In total only had to try on one or two pairs of pants and the whole experience was a nice and quick 30 minutes! Will definitely go here again. read more

My fiance and I went in today to pick out a suit for him to wear at our wedding next month. Tyler helped us, and he was FANTASTIC! You should absolutely ask for him if you need to buy a suit. He spent over an hour and a half helping us pick out everything today. My fiance has a challenging body type to fit - broad shoulders and thighs but thin waist. Suits can be really hard to fit off the rack as they often make him look like he's wearing the wrong size. Tyler found exactly the right suit that fit him perfectly and was comfortable. The pants needed to be hemmed and the vest taken in a tiny bit, but the jacket was perfect. He made sure all the alterations would be done at least a week before the wedding so that we could make any final adjustments. Tyler was wonderful helping with all the little fashion details that my fiance and I know nothing about. We discussed the advantages/disadvantages to different hem lengths. Tyler made sure that we picked a color of ivory shirt for him that would go well with my dress in pictures (who even knew that was a thing?). He helped us pick out shirts and ties (for the wedding and casual wear), belts, and shoes. He also made sure we got all the best deals. We ended up getting two suits and all the accouterments at a really good price. I highly recommend that you ask for Tyler next time you need a suit. read more

A shout-out to the store and to Julia who helped my husband and I get everything he needed today (except the undies!) for my niece's semi-formal wedding next month out of state. We had no prior experience doing this, but Julia took us in hand gently with a friendly, professional attitude. She knows which brands have exactly what sizes to narrow down the perfect fit in trousers, jacket and shirt, and helped us understand the different suit cuts and the tiny details that are important for a semi-formal event, like shirt and jacket sleeve lengths and pants length. My husband also needed classy suspenders (he can't wear a belt due to a past hernia), tie, and pocket handkerchief, along with shoes and dress socks. And the store even had shoes big enough for his size 13 feet! They are tailoring jacket sleeves and trousers and we'll get those in a couple weeks. On Friday, April 22 and continuing through Saturday April 23, I had horrible experiences at The Men's Wearhouse in Capitola. This store advertises they are open until 9:00 pm but when you get there they posted on the door closing at 6:00 pm and that you need an appointment to get customer service because we are too "busy this time of year". One would think if you're too busy you would at least keep your advertised hours not shorten your store hours! But what do I know? I'm just a customer of Men's Wearhouse for the past 35 years. So, I made an appointment and I was told I could not get into the store until the next day. (It was only 4:00pm) Then the next day, we had to wait until after our appointment time while they let other people in who either had no appointment or made appointments only a couple hours prior. This I know because I spoke to these people while waiting in line. There was no onsite manager to which we could complain, at least that's what a very snooty young woman who was handling the appointments and letting people in the store. She also refused to give us her name when we asked her for it saying she didn't have to tell us her name. After becoming angry at how we were being treated, this young person merely slammed the door literally on our faces and refused to honor our appointment because we showed that we were upset at the debacle and her rudeness, and uncaring attitude. How dare we show that we felt disrespected for her incompetence and unfair practices in the way she handled the appointments on both Friday and Saturday! I have shopped at the Men's Wearhouse for over 35 years, longer than this person has been alive, and I can honestly tell you that it is not the way the original founder George Zimmer managed his stores. I only rate this Capitola Store a one star because I was not allowed to give a zero score. A subsequent complaint to corporate office produced no satisfaction, only "I'm sorry this happened to you". Men's Wearhouse, you have lost me as a customer. But I doubt you even care. read more

I'm only giving this place one star because I have to. We went to Men's Warehouse for my husband's tux for our wedding, as well as for his groomsmen. First off, the service is terrible. The employees are rude, and act like they could honestly care less. Each of the men went in, tried on their suits, but some how between trying them on and ending up in their bags, things went HORRIBLY wrong. On our big day my husband opened his bag only to find that he had NO PANTS included. One of his groomsmen was thankfully the same size, and let him wear his pants, meaning he had to hustle to the mall and buy himself a new pair of pants. Another one of his groomsmen's pants were way too short on him, my cousin (another groomsmen) had a huge hole in the crotch of the pants, another groomsmen was charged two times, and lastly another groomsmen was missing a bow tie, one of our wedding guests was kind enough to lend him a bow tie, but how embarrassing is that?!? I was LIVID. It being the biggest day of our lives, the LAST thing I wanted to be stressing about, was the $80 tux's that were supposed to be perfect. The next day, I called and spoke to the manager. When I explained the whole thing he said, "ok. So I'll refund his tux." I said, "thank you, and what about the groomsmen?" He said, "I'm doing all that I can do." I said, "uhmm no? They all spent $80 to rent a tux and they were less than acceptable! They were either too small, missing an accessory, or had HOLES in them." He said, "well I don't know what you want me to do." I replied, "how about starting with refunding their orders, atleast half of it!" He still only replied with, "I'll have to treat every order as an individual complaint." Are you kidding me?!?! I thought Men's Warehouse was supposed to be a big company, specializing in weddings and tuxedos. What I realized is, this company specializes in shitty tuxedos and even worse customer service. We will NEVER return to Men's Warehouse, and I have told many of our friends with upcoming weddings to avoid this place at all costs. I would much rather gone to a "mom and pop shop" and paid a little bit more, for quality and service. read more

I have done business with men's warehouse for over 20 years. Mostly online shopping taking advantage of their many amazing deals on shirts, belts, pants, shoes and ties. As a professional who wears suits, sports coats and collared shirts daily it's important to buy quality for a good price. I only go into the store locations when buying suits. Last year I married my best friend and love of my life. When planing what the groomsmen and I were going to wear I came up with the idea of having suits made custom for all of us. The idea was that not only does a fitted tailored suit look way better than off the rack or rented by also the guys all got to add a beautiful suit to their wardrobe. I always deal with a solid professional named Joe Oliveira who is also one of the managers at the capitola location. The suits came out perfect !! Joe worked his ass off to coordinate all the guys to get it handled on time. I liked the suit so much that I recently went in and purchased 6 more custom tailored suits. You can pick the interior material, how you want the collar to look, the pockets, everything to make it your own. Way better than any off the rack suit I have ever purchased. All of this for less than 500 a piece. I have a tip for all of those people who posted negative reviews about how long it takes to be helped or to be waited on. This is a men's clothing store that sells suits, it takes time to pick out colors, sizes, styles and to cater to every clients opinions and budgets. So go in knowing that it's going to take more time to be helped than at most clothing stores. Also going in on a week day is way faster than just walking in on a busy weekend to get your suit rental handled last minute Joe Oliveria and his staff do an outstanding job providing the best possible service they can. I called Men's Wearhouse on a Monday and explained that my husband's tuxedo didn't fit anymore and we had a formal event Saturday night to attend. I talked with Tyler Lashley, the manager. He said "No problem, come on in and get fitted. I can have a few Tuxedos next day shipped for you and he can pick out the one he wants. That way we'll have time for alterations". (I then added another wrinkle to the plan.....My husband happened to be in Europe on business till Thursday evening and he's not an easy size to fit.) He said " We can make it work, have him call me from London" True to his word he ordered a few really great tuxedos and they were waiting for us at the store when we got back from the airport Thursday evening. Tyler was SO HELPFUL. Way beyond what I ever expected. Hubby chose an amazing Vera Wang Tux and was so happy with it, he picked up a wonderful Ralph Lauren suit. The on-site tailor who did all the measurements and marked all the alterations was also very professional! Denise and Diana, the two women that were taking care of us through out this whole event were also helpful and SO PATIENT. They special ordered several shirts in his size and had them next day delivered. It was so nice to have this caliber of personalized service. EVERYTHING was ready by Saturday morning and they really made us happy when we paid the bill and they said the suits were buy one, get one for $100 dollars. Their store was neat, organized, and well lit. The associates were polite and friendly. They knew their product, promotions, and services very well. Glad they had so many excuses to not honor a promotion that Men's Wearhouse was having. First, you have to bring in the coupon. And when we brought it in, you need a minimal amount of people to rent. Nothing in the promotion said that. The most abhorrent thing is the customer service. I feel very disrespected coming in here inquiring about the promotion and didn't like the environment. It took a few visits to understand MW. Quality and prices are average so you might find something cheaper at the mall. But not with such personal service--at least here in the Capitola branch, they understand body shapes and different lifestyles. It's a cool scene. Probably not the best if you are rushed or otherwise stressed out, or you need something real special. It's just an easy place to get basic menswear in mainstream styles. That means a lot of blacks of course (and greys/charcoals) but they have other coats as well, and plenty of color in shirts and ties. Although just as basic, they have enough accessories to spark your imagination. Good shoes, belts, hats, wild socks and even hankies. It's fun to browse, and to see your own back and profile in their mirror alcoves. They don't pressure you, but offer reliable advice with a touch of flattery. read more

Where to even begin with how unprofessional Aden and his sales associate were... they literally had conversations about our wedding party as if we were just a money grab, they had conversations about what one of them was going to do to his girlfriend later, the other guy in the store was standing watching some stupid reality TV show in the background while there were customers in the store. They were condescending in the way they spoke to both of us, and gave us false information about the shoes we were wanting. They had a terrible sense of style and did not give good style advice for their customers. They kept items on our order that we had cancelled so the entire wedding party had to pay extra. When the suits arrived they did not fit well at all for any of our party. I will not go on and on but please avoid this place at all costs if you are using it to get tuxes for a wedding or special event. The women who work there are horribly rude and mean and I understand if you get a lot of people for weddings but you have to remember that most of the time this only happens once in a persons lifetime and they want it to be special. We did all our our groomsmen wedding suits here and honestly I would not recommend mens wearhouse to anyone. Seriously none of the suits fit properly and there were 9 groomsmen! My husband (the groom) was super uncomfortable in his pants and Jacket because it was too tight. On top of that, I constantly had to call to make sure that everything was in order. It seemed that nothing was organized and it took them awhile to find our group in their system. This is the worst Men's Wearhouse location I have ever used. The customer service is horrific. We waited 30 minutes to be helped. The gentlemen who assisted us, who I'm sure was stoned, took forever to ask us simple color questions and to enter all the data onto his tablet. After we paid everything in full, he stated we would get an email regarding all the information that was entered. He gave us no paper receipt and I never received the email. The next day, after NOT receiving the email, I called that same location asking if they had the correct email on file. After some time of them trying to find my information, I was told that it was all paid and in the system. They were very rude over the phone and I still don't have an email about my order, which was the one item I asked about. read more
