So, here is the pants story. My stepmother is animate about needing pants for my father. My brothers all have tried to purchase pants for him. These purchases do not meet my stepmothers expectations. I bought him pants, unfortunately they do not meet her requirements. She is increasingly frustrated with these purchases, saying he needs immediate help. My father historically couldn't care less about pants. She has made several calls to me, explaining there is a pants crisis and he has nothing to wear. So, I took him to several places to find pants. He needs 29 length, which most places do not carry. A bit of a back story, my father hates any clothing that is nice. My mother tried purchasing fashionable clothing for my father. He refused to wear her purchases. My stepmother is now trying to upgrade his clothing. At 93, he prefers to wear shorts. So, after trying many stores, we come to Men's Warehouse. We are met with the kind help of Mr. T. He is so helpful in selecting pants for my father. I try to stay in the background, as his wife has deliberate standards for pants. After two hours, one pair of pants is deemed acceptable. These are hemmed to 29 length. So happy for a solution to the pants crisis. Unfortunately, she calls me several weeks later. The custom pants are unacceptable to her. She wishes to return the pants and find a more appropriate pair. Oh no. I am embarrassed to go back to Men's Warehouse after their helpful services. I do take them both back to Men's Warehouse. As my stepmother is very adamant about pants, I let her navigate the pants situation. She comes to me, after being helped. She is unhappy. Several pairs of pants are appropriate for my father. Unexplainable, she refuses the 20.00 feet to hem them. And, they cannot return the altered pants. My father has mobility issues at this stage of life. Meaning, it is difficult to come outside his retirement home. Probably one of the saddest moments in my life, his total confusion at the entire pants transaction. He couldn't believe that we were leaving without a pants purchase. I tried to explain to him that his wife did not approve the suggested pants recommendations. Mr. T was so helpful and positive throughout these encounters. He took an incredible amount of time helping them. He was kind to me, acknowledging my discomfort about the situation. He was the positive note in these several transactions. Customer service today was really subpar. The gentleman working the register seemed inattentive and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I asked for a bag and took off Mayr shirt I was about to purchase. The associate edge me the bag and I had to put my crumpled bought shirt in the bag. There was no motivation to fold the shirt or ask me how my experience was. I honestly would have preferred a Uniqlo self-serve option. On the opposite end, there is a seasoned associate that is very classy and walks me to the various selections. He is very attentive like a somalier at a fancy hotel. He provides input as needed and is very knowledgeable about fit and cut. I don't know his name and he is my go to. I hope The Men's Wearhouse can step up their customer service game. read more

TL;DR - Tall, thin guy out $600 on a suit I won't be able to wear a single time, no refunds. Photo 1 is of competitor PRE ALTERATION. Photo 2 is what I picked up from this store as the altered product. The staff here are kind, confident, and courteous. I didn't know much about suits and fitting when I went in, as I needed one for my first wedding. I relied on their expertise to guide me through the process. During the fitting, they put me in an oversized jacket. I expressed concerns about the fit--particularly the width and looseness of the clothing--but was reassured that alterations would take care of the issue. Trusting their guidance, I decided to move forward with the purchase. Unfortunately, after alterations, it became clear that the core issues with the width were not fixed and would either be very difficult or impossible to fix with the time remaining. When I brought this up at pickup, I was told that the alteration was meant to "complement my form", that they had taken in the suit as much as possible, and that any further alterations would look worse. In other words, the alterations were done correctly according to MWH standards. I later went to another store, where I was properly sized to a 32 jacket and 26 trousers--two full sizes smaller than what Men's Wearhouse recommended (36 jacket and 30 trousers). Even the dress shirt I purchased was off by a full size. Since altered suits aren't eligible for returns (which is understandable), I'm now out over $600 and had to buy a new suit elsewhere on short notice. I called the store to discuss the issue but was simply reminded of the policy - they can't take returns on altered products. If I had not been told that alterations would fix my concerns with sizing, I wouldn't be as frustrated now. However, knowing what I do now, it wouldn't have been possible to fix the issues given how far off the suit was in the first place. I do feel deceived. Advice: If you're an inexperienced suit buyer like I was, please shop around and try on suits at multiple different stores before committing. Or just go to Suitsupply instead--it's the same cost, and the alterations are 50% cheaper. read more

Came in for a tux fitting for a wedding, and EVERYONE was extremely helpful, but I wanted to send a special shout out to Kevin. He got everything I needed, helped me make a change to some items that weren't fitting right. And when I returned to pick everything up, it was ready and only one small adjustment had to be made, which they took care of quickly. And as a side note, they had some really great sweaters on clearance for $5 apiece! Since they were all in my size (and I am a big guy), I bought a BUNCH of them! We were super happy with Frederick's assistance here. My fiancé needed a suit and Frederick helped us with everything we needed for a complete wedding outfit from suit to shoes. Frederick clearly enjoys his job, and watching him put together outfit combinations was like watching an artist at work. We were pleased with the selection of choices at this location and were able to pick up a really nice tie for half off to complete the ensemble. They have in-house tailoring so we didn't need to go anywhere to get the pants fitted just right. He got me measured and directed me to a classy jacket that I will be able to wear to multiple events in the future, but also solved my immediate problem of needing a upgrade on the way to a short notice formal birthday dinner that evening. The reason for the one star is simple. A friend and I both rented suits for a destination wedding which took place on Friday. We both clearly communicated that we would be unable to return the suits until Sunday. We were both rung up for $250. Upon returning the suits at different times of the day on the agreed upon Sunday, we each received a 2 day late fee of $20 per day ($40 total). The Men's Wearhouse employee was completely disinterested in investigating our respective claims of proper up front communication and instead continued to let us know that the late fee was final. This travesty is a fundamental miscarriage of quality service and represents a downright unprofessional policy. I would recommend the following to future customers: 1. I have gotten 6 suits from Men's Wearhouse in the past few years and a couple rentals. The staff at this location is always helpful and ready to assist me. Seriously, I have had to go to other places to try and buy a suit or have it fitted and it just doesn't work. The individuals here always have the utmost service and speed in mind. Yes, they are commission driven, but so are the people at other stores and these guys are the best. There has been turnover in the staff over the years, but I am never let down. There is one man who has been with Men's Wearhouse 10 Years who works there and he is very good at his job. After having a bad experience with one of the other Men's Wearhouses in the area my wife and I thought we'd try our luck with the Northgate location. I have to say these guys (and girls) certainly restored my faith in the company. Truth about it I came in a few weeks before we went to that other Men's Wearhouse by myself and that's when I met Nick and Dan who were very nice and very attentive to my needs. As I am not allowed to make decisions by myself the wife and I returned and that's when we met JARROD. He deserves all caps as he helped me immensely in this venture. He did my my measurements and worked with the wife closely to execute her vision (as far as the color scheme). He was also a whole lotta fun to work with, very knowledgeable, as well as very professional. As with any other wedding we had some curveballs as it pertains to personnel. That's where my good friend Nick came in. She was pretty instrumental in me coordinating with my groomsmen. She took the changes in her stride and was the consummate professional. Not to mention she was ON ON ON me about my deadlines and kept the lines of communication between us open. She was able to handle a couple high maintenance girls like me and my wife without really breaking a sweat. This was a really good experience and I would recommend this store to anyone with zero hesitation. They certainly gave me a fair price but I think what I like most is the customer service. I don't really need people to be extra friendly if they're doing there job correctly but it does feel nice to have both sometime. I have a crush on Men's Wearhouse Northgate. The man who helped us, was extremely kind and patient. His name was Kevin. We were getting suits for our wedding, two weeks away. We had a five people in our wedding party, including the groom. We also rented suspender and bowties for the groomsmen. The in store experience for us was great. However once we left the store was when things got a little unfortunate. Everyone in the wedding party had some wrong with their set. My father-in-laws suit was too big for him, and at the same time, parts were too small, and he had to go back four days before the wedding to get a well fitting suit. My dads suit came too small and after driving to multiple stores to find a better fitting one, they told him there was nothing they could do. A button on his suit also came hanging off and we had to fix it ourselves. We ordered five suspenders for the groomsmen, so obviously, we got four. One of the groomsmen's suspenders came literally broken, so much so that we had to staple them for the wedding. My brother in law had to get a new sized suit, even after he put his measurements in online and got sized in store. Honestly, I'm super disappointed with men's Wearhouse, seemed like a good idea but there'd no way I'm ever going back there. As a side note, they will charge you the same price for a babies tuxedo, as they do a grown adult. Sigh. Unimpressive. read more

My fiancé and I had bought two suits somewhere else, which we ended up feeling unsure about. I decided that we had to check Men's Wearhouse to look for The One. Patrick was the one who helped us. You can tell that he has A LOT of experience and great sense of style, we liked everything he picked out the first time. We were in and out of there in no time and very pleased with our purchase. I highly recommend this place, especially Patrick! We went back there recently to ask about the suit jacket being tight around the arms. Ugh we forgot to ask his name, but this pleasant man helped us and adjusted something to make it more comfortable. The arms/chest were not altered before then. Anyway, he reminded us that we have $50 voucher, so we used it for an under shirt and other things. I think that their stuff is expensive, maybe some overpriced, but the quality and service make it worth it. So thanks again for another good experience. read more

Patrick is absolutely wonderful. He helped us with everything we needed to get my sons and my fiancé ready for our wedding. They look absolutely dashing in their new suits, thanks to Patrick. The only thing I was a little irritated about was that the woman who fitted my son in his suit messed up and when we returned to try on the suit, they had actually taken the suit in instead of letting it out. When he tried it on it was smaller than it had been before! When we returned to try on the suit again, it was still too small, but Patrick took it to the back himself and fixed it. I ordered a vest for a wedding in Montana at the Northgate location and was told that it would arrive before I was supposed to leave. A few days before taking off I called to make sure the vest was still coming. They then informed me that it was never sent since the warehouse they ordered it from said it was in stock when it really wasn't. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and was never informed of this. They offered to send it over night to the weddings location but the wedding was on a farm that hardly ever gets mail to them. Oh yeah, and the exact same thing happened to another groomsman. Then I was told that in order to get a refund I would need to wait for the vest to get to me and then I would have to go in and return the vest in order to get my money back. Which doesn't make any sense because nothing had actually been sent yet. After getting back from my trip my vest still hadn't arrived. So I called back only to discover that my order was cancelled and no refund was issued. The store then told me they couldn't issue me a refund and gave a customer service number to call. Then customer service tells me that the store needs to initiate the refund before they could approve it. Customer service then called the manager at the store, who then tells me I have to go in person and talk to him first. I then go into the store expecting an apology but instead the manager, named Aladdin, just acted annoyed that he had to issue me a refund. He then asked me if I bought it online right after I had just handed him a Northgate Men's Warehouse receipt. The staff at Northgate that I had to deal with made me feel like they didn't know how to do their jobs and also just didn't care. read more

I've had occasion to use this location of Mens Wearhouse twice in the last year. The first time, we had to get a suit that would be used in a wedding in Florida. Measurements were taken, deposits put down, and suit was picked up in Orlando. I was surprised by how easy it was! The second time was for a wedding in Seattle a few weeks ago. The process was a bit bumpy but excellent customer service from a number of employees smoothed it over. They worked very hard to get us the right product at the quoted price. They did a lot of research looking for notes in the system, called the other store to speak with the appropriate employee, and resolved everything. It took a bit longer than expected but it really wasn't their fault. Something fell through the cracks and they did their absolute best to resolve it! Events like weddings can be stressful for everyone involved. It's great to have solid employees committed to providing great service to help along the way! read more

We've shopped at Men's Wearhouse Northgate twice and had 2 terrible experiences. Our fault for going back the 2bd time. The 1st time I shopped for a suit for my teen son and the staff were very pushy trying to sell expensive suits. When they found out we were buying a less expensive suit, we couldn't get anyone to help us and the staff were very rude. The 2nd time my 2nd son wanted to rent a tux. The staff were very helpful and nice but measured him incorrectly and his jacket was 5 inches too short on the arms. When we returned the suit and showed them the much too small jacket they took no responsibility or gave no compensation, stating that arm length measurements aren't their responsibility. When he told him that he hadn't, instead of making some helpful or courteous comment, the salesman made a condescending, sarcastic comment and walked away. This Men's Warehouse was horrible to work with and they ruined many things for our wedding. After going into the store 7-8 times after they continued to call me and ask me to come in since things kept going wrong for some unknowin reason, things were still wrong on our wedding day. It makes me so furious I am planning on requesting a full refund the moment we get back home. Here is a list of everything they screwed up! - They did not give the groom his shirt. We call them to tell them we need it the next day in Dallas (where the wedding is) so they "ship it" to the hotel. They "accidentally" ship it to Washington instead of Dallas!!!!!!! So Saturday morning at 10am we find this out, wedding starts at noon, so we have to run around Dallas searching for an ivory shirt that matches all the groomsmen the morning of the wedding. - Gave one of the groomsmen a tux at least 3-4 sizes too big. It was ginormous on him. He was also running around Dallas on the morning of the wedding searching for a new suit since the one he was given was unweareable. - They gave all of the groomsmen the WRONG TIE!!!!!!!! After being called into Men's Warehouse and being told that the tie I picked didn't match the vest I picked, I switched ties to a solid red. Low and behold, they give all of the groomsmen the old, non matching tie that we changed. I have no idea how one store can screw up this much, but it was absolutely the worst experience about my wedding by far. I would never, ever, ever return or shop at any Men's Warehouse again after this experience even if they refunded me 100% of my money because this customer service is beyond unacceptable. Riddle me this... what's checkered red and white and looks completely out of place? No it's not the picnic cloth you were sitting on while you had a face full of watermelon under the tree in Discovery Park this last summer. The answer is actually my Men's Warehouse salesman's pants - or at least that's how I remember them. Either way, he definitely had a quirky kinda style. A few weeks back my fiance and I rolled into the Northgate Men's Warehouse with the intent of renting me a tux for the wedding - she's still putting up with my s#!% after all these years so I figured why not toss a ring her way right? Anyhow, we strolled back to the rental area and we were greeted by a gentleman that was dressed unlike anything you'd ever expect from a joint that specializes in men's suits... Pants that looked like they were cut from that picnic cloth you used, some off-duty sneakers, a bow-tie, and some stylin' glasses. Coupled with his rockstar personality this guy definitely pulled it off well. If I tried that look I'd probably get mugged and left for dead. The gentleman's name was Elmer Basabe, and I'm thoroughly convinced that he could get someone to buy a fistful of bricks from him as they were knee-deep in quicksand. As we approached, it was clear that Elmer was very busy helping multiple customers, but he very promptly acknowledged us and assured us that he'd be right with us in a moment. That was a long moment, but he checked in with us a few times to let us know he didn't forget about us. When it was our turn it became evident very quickly that this Elmer's quirky style was just the beginning... He had a personality that would make you truly believe you've known him for years, and a fashion sense that would make head hunters from GQ come calling. My fiance whispered in his ear what dress she purchased and from there he hit the ground running. He knew exactly what suit would go well with her dress so I didn't look like an afterthought. After showing it to us he had to step away for a moment to assist someone else. During that time I was expressing my concerns to The Boss that the suit's quality looked cheap and I wasn't quite sold on it. When Elmer returned I showed him one that I liked more - then he told me the price to rent it... I thought he was pricing out a Dyson for me! I tossed out the idea of possibly purchasing a suit instead. I gave him a rough price range and he immediately told me he had the perfect suit to fit my style. Apparently he knew my style better than I did after knowing him for only a few minutes! We weaved our way across the store to what looked like an endless sea of suit jackets and sports coats. Just the thought of filing through those racks started to give me anxiety. On the way across the store Elmer asked me, "How tall did you say you were? 5'9"?" "I didn't, but that's dead on." "And... 175lbs?" "Pretty much. I take it you've done this a few times?" "A few times." He walked to one of the racks with clear intent and began to pull a jacket out. As he did so, a grip doves flew out of the rack, time stood still, and everything echoed in my ears - it was a thing of beauty. I believe he pulled out one or two more as well, but fate had already decided for me that the first one was going home with me. I tried the others on, but after seeing option one the others were dead to me. It was in the right price range, AND made me look dead-sexy! ..even in my shorts and flip-flops. "This is the one Elmer." "I told you I had the perfect one in mind for you Abe." That he did. The entire experience was this way. I can definitely say that Elmer knew my style better than I did. If not, then he certainly did an outstanding job of making me believe he did. From the jacket, to the shirt, tie, pants, and right down to the shoes - he seemed to know exactly what I liked. He almost got me into a bow-tie, but The Boss put the kabosh on that one. If I had to put a number to it I'd say we spent about two and a half hours in the store, and I walked away quite a bit closer to the poverty level than I had originally intended. However, not once have I had buyer's remorse - yet. Elmer turned a potentially painfully boring and tedious experience into a very fun and positive one. His knowledge of their inventory, his ability to explain features and benefits, his amazingly intuitive sense of style, and his unrivaled personality makes him and absolute asset to the company. I feel that Elmer went above and beyond to ensure that the customer was taken care of, despite the fact that we pulled him away from his own area into the sales side. He did what was necessary to ensure that I left happy in every aspect of the shopping experience. Not once did I ever feel like a bother to him or feel rushed to make a decision, and he definitely wasn't a "used car salesman'. I would have choked him out right there if he was! I will definitely be back for future purchases and recommend this store to others. Thank you! read more

Prices seem fine, if you are a "regular" sized guy! I'm short, shocky and well hard to fit into a "regular" suit. I decide to check these folks out to see if they would fit an "inverted spark-plug" bodied person, like myself. Well they did have a few suits with the "athletic" cut, which means I have very broad shoulders, fault the evils of genetics here. Any-who. They did have several for me to select from the bad part is they didn't have any jacket and pant "combos" where I could pick the jacket and then pick a pair of slacks, same style, different sizes. Again the inverted pear-syndrome comes into play. So the suit has the matching pants that I have to get cut-down to my size. There is the problem. Bigger suit jackets mean bigger waist sizes, for which just doesn't work for the inverted pear-man. I thought they could tailor my suit better than they did, heck they charge you for every single cut and stitch, there goes my cost savings!! The pants fix but look bad because of the need to pull in the back side, I only wear this suit at funerals were you sit a lot... I liked the service, I enjoyed the "stylist" putting several over-priced shirt and tie combos together for me to drool over. I didn't like getting knocked over by the sticker shock. Overall the service was great, but now I have a gift certificate that sits in the drawer because $250 won't go very far here for inverted pear-man.... read more

I needed to get some new suits so I figured this was the place to go. Everyone was friendly and they worked as a team well. As someone with a lot of sales experience I got a chuckle out of the constant attempts to up-sell. Good for them. They pretty much always have sales going on which is a bit of a gimmick but I paid about what I was expecting to and left with a bit more than I had initially planned on (some of the ties were too cool to pass up on). In the end I left with 2 suits (light grey and dark grey), shirts, ties, vests, shoes and all the trimmings I need to look professional and dressed to impress. I was fitted for tailoring and out the door in less time than I'd allotted and my suits were ready for pick-up when I was told they would be. Next time I have need of a suit I'll stop here first. Men's Wearhouse is the one stop shop for men's formal wear--suits, shoes and accessories. Plus they also carry a small line of casual high(er) end clothing. The Good: Initially I was very impressed with the service my bf received when purchasing two suits, one for a wedding another one for work. The salesman knew what cut, color, etc that would fit him well. He made great suggestions and ultimately helped pick out two great suits. He was very energetic and you can tell that he's definitely been in the business for a while...this guy could sell! Plus they have an in-house tailor to do alterations. Maybe because I'm a girl (I've never bought a suit before), I thought that the bill was outrageous. 2 suits with alterations came out to be $1,500+. Good lord that's A LOT of money! The Bad: We returned 2 weeks after to pick up the suits. We walked in, told them that we were here to pick up suits. Right then and there the customer went downhill--no one greeted us, all they did was give my bf his suits...and that was IT! No one came to check on him. He tried on both suits, used the full length mirror to see if everything fit right, etc. He needed some assistance and tried finding someone, but everyone else was "too busy," I was expecting that one-on-one service that we received during our first visit, but you could tell that no one cared. He already bought they suits, there was nothing else to sell him right? I was furious and I wasn't even the person who bought the suits! Not the type of store I would ever go to. All they need to do is provide great service during EVERY single time, then I'm sure they'd get loyal customers. Such a disappointment. read more

DO NOT GO HERE TO RENT!! If I knew what an undertaking it was going to be, I would have opted out. The customer service was terrible. They kept getting the order wrong on multiple occasions. Their system is terribly convoluted. For example: The groomsmen had to get measured at their closes men's warehouse, no big deal, but they had to call my fiance with the measurements, and my fiance had to call another men's warehouse so they could put it into the computer. Really? Be careful if you do go with men's warehouse for rentals. You have to be very persistent that they have every detail correct. They tried to have us pick up pick up the rentals in seattle when we told them we were getting married in Maine. That information had to be updated multiple times. The Hubby decided he should just buy a suit for our wedding instead of renting a tux, so I tagged along with him to see what this whole Men's Wearhouse thing was all about. (Was I, a woman, even allowed inside?!) Turns out that yes, I was. "Ace" was our salesman, and he was a real sly one. They were having a sale -- Buy one suit, get the second for free. John was tempted for a minute, but then finally was like, "I really only need one suit." "OK," said Ace, without hesitation, "How about we give you 50% off on everything you buy today--shirts, ties, socks?" Umm, what? You can just do that? Apparently you can, when you have a monopoly on the business, as Ace pointed out that they did. We're not stupid, so we took him up on the offer. For the next hour and a half, we got the full sales pitch. They put John in a suit, got it all marked up for tailoring, and meanwhile Ace set up a whole array of shirts and ties that would look good together. This is where he was smart to offer 50% off on everything; John picked out way more items than he really probably needed, just because it was a good deal. Still, he didn't get the pink shirt/tie combo that Ace REALLY wanted to sell. Shoes were next, but they can't give the discount on that; they only have the monopoly on suits, apparently. It's not Men's FOOTwearhouse, after all. So that was $800 well spent. We also got the tuxes for the wedding party here. That seemed to go smoothly; there was a tux that matched the suit John bought, so we reserved some of those for the groomsmen. The only problem was that when I picked them up before the wedding, I had to go back a few hours later because they realized they'd put the wrong size of jacket in one of the bags. I came here to help a friend of mine buy a suit and dress shirt for a wedding. Most of the suits seemed pretty pricey but the customer service is excellent! At first the suits my friend was shown were all around $350-$450 even though he told the sales man he was looking for something around $200. Eventually they found one suit on sale for $250 which my friend liked. They also gave him a massive discount on a dress shirt which in the end came down to $20. Tailoring prices were pretty reasonable. Oh and they will press your suit free of charge for life! Now that is an awesome deal. So in the end after adding in tax and the cost for tailoring, it cost my friends $330 for 1 suit and 1 dress shirt. And if you are flying somewhere with your suit, just pop in to any Men's Wearhouse to have it pressed. read more

I recently rented a Tux for my son for his first High School event. Coming into the store was what I expected most are just out of school kids running the store. The young man that helped us was nice, gave a book to choose from which I noticed the suite said Super 100's all wool, knowing what that means from a quality perspective we picked it. (He was fast and thus a problem later) My son didn't need the shoes, so we rented a Tux Jacket, shirt, pants, cuffs, vest and tie total= $160.00 (no discount) Came back in 2 weeks later for the pre-fit as part of their "perfect fit guarantee", my son tried on the suite as I stood back and watched the girl looked at him and said looks great your all set. I walked over and said first the jacket doesn't fit (sleeves to short and the button for the jacket was snug. She called someone else over and in a huff the said come back Friday and no charge, like I was going to pay for their Tux not fitting. They were doing the "Your no commission so push us out the store fast move" Came back in Friday and the Tux fit, brought it home and the shirt that came with it didn't look right (looked used and old) so I had him wear his own shirt which helped improve the look however the quality of the Tux (that Super 100 item I mentioned, it was not!) was poor, cheap material, something you would pick up a JC Penny's. At this point we had no time to change.. When I dropped it off, they asked me how everything was and I explained my disappointment in the quality and lack of support from the Sales people in a calm, polite way expecting some concern and or interest in making it right and her response was "have a nice day". Which in my mind said I could give a flying !@#$ So my suggestion is if your going to have your son do a few formal's go buy a Tux vs. rent it from these clowns.
