I had an amazing experience here! This was a Valentine's Day excursion and this restaurant owes us NOTHING! We started with their crispy cauliflower (to die for) and the chicken samosas (Devine). For our entree, we had the burinabe plantain and avocado bowl, quesadillas and we split the Mexican steak salad. Everything was so fresh, super tasty and arrived quickly. We don't drink alcohol so we had their orange blossom mint lemonade, super refreshing!!!! I would recommend any and everyone to come! P.S. We went on a Wednesday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had amazing service and the food was so tasty! We were a large group and we're seated quickly. The grape leaves, hummus, and tamale were outstanding apps and the entrees were all delicious. We also got the lentil soup, falafel sandwich, and chicken tinga fries not pictured. The service went above and beyond by helping us surprise our friend with a cake that we brought and hid. They also played music for us and allowed us to stay a bit past closing. I tried their grape leaves, Mel's brownie, and the citrus ginger cake. Everything was amazing in their own way honestly some of the best grape leaves I've ever had! Hadda pleasant dinner at Mera lastnight, where we started with the crispy cauliflower app, which was good. I ordered the felafel salad entree as my main. The salad itself was fine, if unremarkable, but "fine" because the greens, cucumbers & tomatoes tasted fresh. The felafel itself seemed premade & wasnt particularly hot. My experience last night at Mera's was kind of weird. Our waitress was really friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. My steak salad and bissap were tasty. The unpleasant portion of the night began once our dinner plates were removed. One of the members of our table of three went to the bathroom and I pulled out my card in preparation for the bill. An older man appeared and presented us with the portable terminal. We let him know that we were not ready to pay yet and my other friend asked him if she could order dessert to which he replied no and that it was too late. Mind you, it wasn't even 9:40 PM yet and the restaurant closed at 10 PM (supposedly). Right as my friend got back to the table, he came back with the terminal and practically waved us out of the restaurant. Our treatment kinda soured the dining experience for me. I'd give the food a 4/5 and the service a 3/5. read more

The food is always delicious and reasonable. Yesterday I had the chicken burrito (Thursday special) and the house made ginger drink (non alcoholic) and both were really delicious. The total bill was around 21.00 including tax and tip. We sat outside since it was a lovely evening, and it was so pretty and peaceful. The employees are all friendly and helpful. I've been a long time customer of the Mera Kitchen Collective at the Baltimore Farmer's Market, and I'm thrilled that they're opening a new location and trying out some "Test Kitchen" days! As always, the food was incredible, and everyone was so warm and inviting. The hummus was perfectly smooth and creamy, with a heavy dose of tahini. Yum. The falafel wraps were delightfully warm, little pitas filled with flavorful falafel, a fresh salad, and a tangy yogurt sauce. Light and fresh, and not overly filling. The cardamom baklava buns were extremely fragrant and loaded with cardamom, with a crispy outside and warm and fluffy inside. HIGHLY recommend, definitely planning on adding this back in to my regular dining routine. Fingers crossed that Chef Iman's rolled eggplant makes an appearance! read more

Went to Mera's for lunch and had the falafel sandwich and the steak tacos. The service was great, the food was fresh and delicious. We liked it so much that we came back with friends the same day to have dinner. Had the topped fries and the quesadillas. All delicious and very good. We did our first post-COVID immunizations dinner party last night and Mera catered it. The food was wildly original and wonderful with three dips and fresh pita, a delicious chicken and eggplant and rice dish that everyone loved, a fresh and nicely dressed green salad and tasty pistachio cream puffs to round out the meal. It was beautifully arranged so we served it from the carryout packaging rather than re-plating. Our guests raved about it and while we ordered for five we had a lot of nice leftovers. The cause Behind Mera is worthy-- helping language-limited new immigrants put their cooking experience to work. But cause aside, the food is reasonably priced and really good. read more

Holy Baklava! I went to an event that was catered by Mera Kitchen Collective, and every bite of food I put in my mouth was delicious. I am still thinking about the pistachio baklava. The small pieces meant it felt guilt free, but the crave-worthiness of them meant I ate a ton of them! The hummus was so silky, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and there were all kinds of fun finger foods and snacks for all kinds of diets. The next time I cater anything, I am going straight to these ladies. This was some of the best food I have had an event in a long time. So soulful, filling and tasty. read more

We ordered two of their Thanksgiving Feasts fo pick up on the day before Thanksgiving, all of which was delicious. All we had to do was get plenty of pita bread ahead of time, and we served the meals (we got at least two meals for our group out of our orders) with lots of hot tea. The Feast came with tamales, which were the best we'd had, full of vegetables and large chunks of chicken, and kibbeh, which is finely ground beef and spices and bulgur shaped into small football shapes and stuffed with seasoned sautéed meat. Very labor intensive. Same with the grape leaves stuffed with rice and lamb. We also ordered hummus and mutabbel (baba ghannouj)--both were excellent. The hummus had plenty of rich tahini flavor and the mutabbel had a lovely smoky flavor to the eggplant. The hibiscus ginger drink was delightful, and the sticky rolls were amazing. We were so happy to finally have the chance to try Mera and look forward to doing so again soon. Highly recommended. read more
