Mercantile is hands down one of the best restaurants in the area. Their sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had--I've tried four so far (and counting), and every single one has been incredible. What stands out is that each sandwich has its own unique flavor profile, yet they're all equally delicious. Beyond the food, the space itself is charming and thoughtfully curated. They also offer premade meals, pickles, and all kinds of other specialty goodies to browse while you're there. I can't recommend this place enough. Wow! What an adorable little deli with delectable sandwiches. I'll start by saying the staff is super sweet and able to customize any of the sandwiches on their menu. I ordered the Austin and Italy as a salad for my husband. My sandwich was really delicious and fresh. I was sad when it was gone. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his salad and sandwich as well. He ordered the Ft. Worth. I took home a snickerdoodle cookie for my son and that was really tasty too. Although I took my order to-go, I did wait inside while they were preparing my food. They have a could have large tables if you'd like to sit in and dine. I noticed they also offer ice cream so I might have to come back to try. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area! I love this place and it seriously gives you the "small town" vibe in a good way. It is in the historical downtown right next door to the pharmacy and very easy to miss. Do yourself a favor and don't miss it! They have everything you would need from fresh honey to stuff you need for your next good meal. The absolute best is the sandwiches! Such a cute little shop in the heart of downtown Justin. I've heard about Mercantile 1887 through word of mouth and social media for awhile now and was excited that I had a chance to stop by today and support a local business. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly employee. The space is fairly small but is packed FULL of so many unique items. Spices, condiments, meats, cheeses, pasta, a wide selection of teas, sweets, treats, and so much more. This shop is ideal if you're putting together a gift basket and would like to add something fun and different. & a charcuterie lover's dream. I ordered the Italy sandwich and washed it down with a cold pressed juice. Both were fresh and delicious. I will definitely stop in next time I find myself in Justin. read more

I had seen a post about this place in one of my "foodie" groups on FB. We recently went to a store in Grapevine that we loved and this place sort of sounded like that. It is teeny tiny, but their shelves are packed with so many fun products. They had multiple flavors and combinations of different things. From salsa to pasta! They also have a deli and we plan to go back to try their sandwiches. Finally, there is a cooler to the right when you walk in the door and there are freshly made products. We got a small charcuterie box and a few other things. They. Have. So. Many. Things! Very charming look on the outside, beautiful store. Who ever works behind the counter had a personality as stale as the bread they for sandwiches. I would not go back, I called to ask questions about their menu and the person I spoke with acted so bothered and irritated. The good reviews listed below must be support from family and friends. A sandwich and 2 cupcakes was 20.00! Cupcakes tasted like they have been sitting in a fridge for weeks, the paper would not peel off of it they were so cold, hard and stiff. read more

My first time being at this place. Food was good. Service needs to be a bit friendlier. I felt I was bothering the lady by asking some questions since it was my first time.
