From the moment you step foot into this small, quaint Italian restaurant, you are fully immersed in Italian culture. After being shown to our table, a jovial waiter immediately greeted us with plenty of different water options and spoke of extravagant specials, describing them so convincingly that I almost ordered them all. But after a quick glimpse at the menu, I knew exactly what I wanted. One of my favorite dishes in the entire world is a good, classic chicken parm though I'll admit, I'm very picky about this popular dish. As the chicken parm arrived at the table, I instantly knew this was no ordinary pizza-joint parm. This was a masterpiece. When my knife pierced the chicken, a beautiful crisp echoed throughout the dining room as steam poured out of the perfectly cooked cutlet. And then came the first bite. I immediately began to cry. This was no ordinary bite--this was liberation. My taste buds were freed. After years of searching for the perfect chicken parm, I had finally found it. I am forever indebted to La Mezzaluna and its lovely staff. Not only did they introduce my taste buds to the greatest chicken dish I've ever had, but they also helped create a wonderful night with a lovely date. I will absolutely be returning, and I look forward to the next time I can indulge in their legendary chicken parm.

We tried the Eggplant Rollatini and Soup for appetizer. Both were fine. For our entrees, we had the Chicken Al Vino Blanco, Barramundi, and Vegetarian Risotto. All of the entrees were a bit on the bland side. However, the Tiramisu for dessert was delicious. Overall a nice experience. A solid 3.5. However, not as great as some of the other Italian restaurants in Central Jersey.

The Eat Street online website charged a 1.49 service fee but that didn't include the massive markup on each menu item they took somewhere between 4-and 8 dollars per item. When I showed the restaurant server the mark-up (there was no manager available) she confirmed this online ordering service was marking up each meal item. Efe's is aware of this online ordering service (according to Eat Street's Website and terms of service, every merchant must execute an order form for services with Eat Street). The only other comment from the server was that I hoped I enjoyed the meal, even though I was fleeced by paying inflated menu prices (and resulting taxes and tip) by over $21 for a restaurant pick up take-out order using this online EatStreet.Com ordering pick-up website that Efe's appears to be under contract with. If manager responds they are getting rid of EatStreet.com and/or the marked up commissions for in the EatStreet website will consider updating my current 1 star rating.

Cross between a Sicilian and a Chicago. Lighter and more "doughy" than a Sicilian but firm under carriage and generous cheese. Very filling we could only eat one slice each. They were open and seemed happy to have my business. My uncle liked his baked ziti, meatballs and garlic bread. My own thin crust tomato pie was ok. The crust was good but they used way more tomato than is usually the case for this pie. The sauce was a bit sweet as well. I'd possibly skip this pie and try a white if I were to return. My rating is based on a few things. 1) I just have a hard time seeing a restaurant in that building. I feel like I'm eating in a converted living room (felt the same way when Blue Bottle was here) 2) The service was incredibly slow. We had a 6:30 reservation and got our entrees at 7:50. This wasn't about being very busy. It seems like it was more a factor of being understaffed. 3) The food was under-seasoned and over-sauced. Everything was tasty but there was a lack of finesse that upscale Italian restaurants should have (I'm referring to anything other than a pizza joint).
