    AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST!!! We purchased a used car at this dealership. After driving the car for 307 miles it was in the shop for 12 days with $1,508.42 in repairs. 33 days later it was back in the shop for another $1,072.21 in repairs. At 764 miles it was undriveable! When I contacted Merced Chevrolet, it sounded like they cared and wanted to take a look at it. I had it towed from Fresno to Merced, at their request, only to be told that they couldn't help me. They had mentioned a possible trade-in option, so I asked them to make me an offer. The offer was for $2,500. At this point the car has only been driven 764 miles since purchase and I have already invested $11,280 into the car! The best they can offer me is $2,500? The car is now being taken care of elsewhere and the financial nightmare is still on going. So again, my advice is to AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST!!!

    We bought our truck with a trade in and made it quick and easy thank you Seth! We've gone through many car buyings before and it took HOURS! This was quick in and out about 2 hours for everything. I've spent 6 hrs before at a dealership. Thank you guys and definitely would come back!

    The unlawful business practices at the Certified Chevrolet Dealership in Merced, California are unbelievable. We arrived at Chevrolet at said location around 4:30 pm on Friday July 3rd. We had drove 2 hours to look at a 2017 Buick Encore Premium (see pictures). After being impressed with the exterior and interior of the car, we then took it for a test drive. We told our salesman we would like to purchase it, and we were preapproved with my bank, Navy Federal Credit Union. We had our letter and Check with us ready to buy. We were then told they do not work with our bank, but they will see if they can get us a better interest rate thru their financial bank. We were a little taken back that our bank was not going to be accepted since it is a Military Branch Bank and accepted everywhere, but it is an exclusive bank for military members and their families only, so we assumed they just never heard of it. Well, as we continued with our paperwork, we went over the Carfax report that they printed (see attached) and everything was exactly as we had seen online, price and description. They came back with the financials, and they were unable to beat our interest rate with our bank. Their loan would have our loan increased at 72 months and 3% increase in rate. Which was extremely higher than our loan at 60 months and 3% less. However, after staring at the numbers we then realized the car amount was increased as well. The Carfax, sticker on car, and online had all said $15,893. (see attached for Facebook and Carfax advertised amount). We were asked where we "came up with that number". My husband then went to their website to show and to our surprise, it was at their NEW advertised price of $17,490 (see picture of their website). We were treated as if we made up that number and were told it was only $1,600 more so it was not much more money than we "thought". $1,600 is A LOT more, especially at their loan interest and term rate! It would have costed us thousands more! We had literally seen the price on our drive up and on the sticker on the car on arrival. My husband proceeds to look outside on the car to show proof of the sticker and of course it was gone. My husband then tells them that this was a bait and switch practice and very unprofessional. They of course became very defensive stating they did not know we were coming, so how could they possibly switch the price before? They did not need to know we were coming ahead of time, they did it right as we were in their office waiting. We told them we were not willing to pay their "New" price and would not buy the car. They said they would call the owner and see what they can do. My husband and I were in the office and decided we did not feel right purchasing a car at a location with horrible ethics. We walked out of the dealership and the salesmen came out and informed us they got approval of the $15,893 price. We declined, at this point our morals would not allow to do business with them. Our 2-hour drive home left us discussing our frustration and complete shock that a Certified Chevrolet dealership would succumb to these low levels. See attached photo for Carfax price changes report, that proves the price change was made and the $15893 was an accurate price that was advertised on July 3rd. How many people have fallen victim to this type of scam? We luckily walked away, but we know we were not the first nor be the last. It is unlawful and deceitful to their customers and communities. Buyers Beware, and do your research and apply for loans with banks and to SCREENSHOT prices before going to the dealership!

I told him numerous times that I was only there to test drive and was willing to hear out ROUGH numbers only, but he kept insisting that I give all of my information to them to get accurate numbers and the best deal. I'm not at that stage yet, and he didn't listen to me once when I mentioned that. After telling us to "hold on" multiple times, he then brings over his incredibly eccentric and sleazy supervisor (maybe?), who also couldn't take "no" or "I'm only here for test drives" as an answer. On top of that, I'm the one buying the vehicle, yet they both kept looking over at and directing "questions" to the guy who was with me. It was very misogynistic, and it got to the point where I was feeling harassed because they didn't like the word "no", no matter how I said it or how many times I said it. They could give me the best deal out of any dealership in town and I still wouldn't go with them. Incredibly unprofessional and I honestly don't know what kinds of slimy fees they'd tack on without me knowing. These dealerships have gone downhill so much since I purchased a car from Kia back in 2012 or so. BE WARNED!

I was disappointed but still willing to move forward. Candido then had me speak with multiple people, and my partner and I were asked to wait by someone else. Even though we arrived early, before it got busy, Candido didn't even acknowledge us at all. We sat at his desk for nearly an hour with no communication while he walked in and out. Other customers were also left waiting. After nearly three hours since we got there, we left. This was the worst dealership experience I've had, and I won't be returning. Such a waste of my time. Before having these "sales events" they have to make sure they actually prepare with sales people for people who actually want to buy cars!!! Wouldn't recommend this place. They sell damaged/dirty cars plus they have the worst sales people.

On 4/27/26 around 11AM, I received a call from the service department stating my policy covered everything except for a $2.15 tire disposal fee. They said they would receive tire on 4/29/26. Received call around 3PM on 4/29/26, was told that they were putting on new tire and instructed me to come pick it up after work. Upon arriving at the dealership, service rep told me that they weren't able to get in touch with the tire warranty company and that they could not "release the car to me." I was then told to "file the claim myself and to pay the $350 or they would keep my car. The warranty instructions are clear: Take your vehicle to any dealership or state-licensed repair facility. Have the repair facility verify coverage and obtain a repair authorization number from Zurich before any repair is made by calling 1-800-491-5117. Submit invoice/repair order to Zurich verifying the authorized repair has been completed. Pay deductible, if applicable, and any non-covered expenses. Zurich pays the repair facility directly. So they did a bait and switch to extort money from me. Had I have known this would be the outcome, I would have taken it to another VW dealership.

Seems like there are several things that need to be fixed... fine but then they quoted me $7,500 which was more than I bought the car for... so I said no, how much to just take it home. Jim said $750... then later calls my wife and says he misquoted me and it would be $1,500... So I go to pick up the car and they forgot to give me back the whole key. When I tried to call someone about this, service sent me to voicemail several times and then said to try coming by tomorrow morning, because people are off work at 5pm, I called them at 4:25pm... . Update 2/11/23 Showed up to see if they can find my key. James said "check the center console, we may have put it in there..." checked and nope... checked the possible spots, nothing... they have my key and I want it back. I was told if they can't find it they will cut me another one. I get better responses in person. They were able to make a replacement key from my other key. It only took a few hours out of my Saturday morning. I don't like to dis on local businesses, but don't treat me in a way where I have to warn other customers. Buyers beware! Leaving 2 stars, but should really only be one.
