After driving the car for 307 miles it was in the shop for 12 days with $1,508.42 in repairs. 33 days later it was back in the shop for another $1,072.21 in repairs. At 764 miles it was undriveable! When I contacted Merced Chevrolet, it sounded like they cared and wanted to take a look at it. I had it towed from Fresno to Merced, at their request, only to be told that they couldn't help me. Took my car in to get a diagnose on service paid $175 out of pocket just for them to tell me it was something with my housing for coolant. Took a total of $733 my car kept smoking afterwards had to bring it again and this time it was worse than it was before the jar that holds the coolant began to leak which it ever did from the beginning when I first took it. They fixed it and I had to pay another $100. took it home it still kept smoking I just took it the same day and they found out it was engine oil. I took my car four times in one month for the same problem. Parts was $500 and labor was more than parts "$1000" when they should've seen this from the beginning to begin with. I took my car in the be fixed due to a loss of power when the auto stop turned on. I informed to mechanic Jacob of my concerns on the intake paperwork as well as the phone call to see what was going on. He then told me it was the throttle body that was not communicating properly and that was why it was causing this problem. So he told me it needed replacing and so he did. He told me that the problem was fixed after changing the throttle body and in the voicemail he clearly states that the loss of power was corrected he did let me know that there was another code that popped up but it was not affecting the loss of power but the engine light was still on because of the different code. When we took it home we had my husband take it he informed me that the problem with the loss of power was still present even though Jacob informed me it was fixed with what he changed. So I called a couple days or so later to inform him that the problem was still present and I asked him to make sure everything is going okay. After inspecting the throttle body he informed me that the throttle body is calibrated fine, but he still has the code popping up with the engine light that he wasn't sure about that he would have to investigate more into. But I informed him the loss of power was still present and that was my concern. Even though he informed me when I first brought it home that the loss of power was fixed even though it is not. I had him speak to my husband to see if my husband can make more sense of the concerns but he told him the same thing. So I called the manager of service and he was very condescending while speaking to me after i explained my problem. He asked me rudely well we spoke to your husband didn't you speak to him and I informed him yes I did and that's why I'm speaking to you because my problem was not fixed even though I was informed when I first took the car home that it was. He was speaking to me like I was an idiot when I tried to tell him and he said well he did inform you that there was another code and that's why it wasn't doing working properly. And I told him that is not what Jacob had said. He the. Tried to explain things in a different way and so did I because I told him he wasn't understanding me and the said well how else can I explain this to you very rudely. I told him that is not what I'm trying to tell you, if I was told that the problem was fixed when I first left and found out it was not when I drove it other than the other code that he told me had nothing to do with the loss of power the. Why are you telling me this. And he continues to be rude and tell me that that's not what was going on that its the code that was showing is what is wrong with the loss of power. I tried to explain to him that's not the conversation we had when he released the car to me and he kept insisting no that not what was happening. I'm just really disappointed that this happened I was belittled and was treated like an idiot. I understand I don't know about cars but I understand when someone is telling me that something is fixed and that a totally different problem occurred that had nothing to do with the original problem then why should I be treated in this manner. I would really appreciate it if someone would reach out to me to help me get some answers after receiving this care to see if this problem can be resolved or even just made right. read more

The unlawful business practices at the Certified Chevrolet Dealership in Merced, California are unbelievable. We arrived at Chevrolet at said location around 4:30 pm on Friday July 3rd. We had drove 2 hours to look at a 2017 Buick Encore Premium (see pictures). After being impressed with the exterior and interior of the car, we then took it for a test drive. We told our salesman we would like to purchase it, and we were preapproved with my bank, Navy Federal Credit Union. We had our letter and Check with us ready to buy. We were then told they do not work with our bank, but they will see if they can get us a better interest rate thru their financial bank. We were a little taken back that our bank was not going to be accepted since it is a Military Branch Bank and accepted everywhere, but it is an exclusive bank for military members and their families only, so we assumed they just never heard of it. Well, as we continued with our paperwork, we went over the Carfax report that they printed (see attached) and everything was exactly as we had seen online, price and description. They came back with the financials, and they were unable to beat our interest rate with our bank. Their loan would have our loan increased at 72 months and 3% increase in rate. Which was extremely higher than our loan at 60 months and 3% less. However, after staring at the numbers we then realized the car amount was increased as well. The Carfax, sticker on car, and online had all said $15,893. (see attached for Facebook and Carfax advertised amount). We were asked where we "came up with that number". My husband then went to their website to show and to our surprise, it was at their NEW advertised price of $17,490 (see picture of their website). We were treated as if we made up that number and were told it was only $1,600 more so it was not much more money than we "thought". $1,600 is A LOT more, especially at their loan interest and term rate! It would have costed us thousands more! We had literally seen the price on our drive up and on the sticker on the car on arrival. My husband proceeds to look outside on the car to show proof of the sticker and of course it was gone. My husband then tells them that this was a bait and switch practice and very unprofessional. They of course became very defensive stating they did not know we were coming, so how could they possibly switch the price before? They did not need to know we were coming ahead of time, they did it right as we were in their office waiting. We told them we were not willing to pay their "New" price and would not buy the car. They said they would call the owner and see what they can do. My husband and I were in the office and decided we did not feel right purchasing a car at a location with horrible ethics. We walked out of the dealership and the salesmen came out and informed us they got approval of the $15,893 price. We declined, at this point our morals would not allow to do business with them. Our 2-hour drive home left us discussing our frustration and complete shock that a Certified Chevrolet dealership would succumb to these low levels. See attached photo for Carfax price changes report, that proves the price change was made and the $15893 was an accurate price that was advertised on July 3rd. How many people have fallen victim to this type of scam? We luckily walked away, but we know we were not the first nor be the last. It is unlawful and deceitful to their customers and communities. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a vehicle at Merced Chevrolet. I purchased a vehicle that they advertised as having a navigation system in it. When I took it a test drive I wanted to confirm that it had a navigation system in it JR the sales rep said that it did. so I purchased the vehicle trusting that it had everything that was on the online description. when I got home I realized that it didn't have the navigation system in the vehicle the next day I text JR letting him know that the suv didn't have it. Along with the text, I sent him screen shots where it states that it comes with it. He pretty much said that if I wanted navigation I would need to get it thru onstar. Great place to purchase a new vehicle. I must replace my last review as I unfairly judged the way I was dealt with yesterday. All of the people I have had contact with at this location have been good to me & my family. I judged this place unfairly after an estimate for what I called in for a simple oil change . Service guy hands me a paper with estimate of $ 816 . ???? What the heck!!! He says it's for something I was totally blindsided by a 15,000 mile check up?? At this time I'm driving 40 plus miles to have original dealership service my oil change. Put yourself in my shoes, I felt like I'm getting taken for a ride. After speaking to other owners of these same type of truck who say this never happened to them. I got only oil change an tire rotation this time after a 2plus hr wait. Having an appointment I guess doesn't mean anything to those who over book. But on my last review I got a reply from the owner of this location. He was truly concerned with my review. An I did bad mouth the service guy. He was only nice to me nothing else. What I'm trying to say I guess is sorry & I hope that they learn better communication skills when dealing with us the consumers. This is absolutely the worst place to have service done to your vehicle. I took my suburban in that I had purchased 4 months prior to have my tires rotated and oil changed. I noticed the clear coat was coming off one of my wheels. I pointed it out to the service tech and asked if it was covered. They said it was not covered because it is paint. So I contacted my warranty company who sent me the paperwork and highlighted that paint is covered by warranty. When I called back to ask what happened, Merced Chevrolet denied I ever mentioned I had a warranty. Which is a flat out lie. I'll take my suburban to Ron Smith from here on out. read more

Tldr: Incredibly rude sales staff members. I had a good experience with Christian, originally from Los Angeles area like I am in August 2016 Was looking for a used LBZ or LB7 Duramax, ended up testdriving a new 2016 2500HD. Just a basic work truck, my style. Don't need a fancy truck. I prefer older ones since you can modify it to roll coal, haul more, don't have to deal with DEF or as much smog stuff. He was a great salesman. Great communication, knew his stuff. I was at that time willing to give my 2007 Titan up which I dearly love for a used Duramax, since my job involves hauling beer, and I'm regularly towing heavy trailers and my quads, sometimes to Los Angeles/Hungry Valley and Barstow I came back today, for 2 reasons: I wanted to see if there were any used LBZs on the lot and also to inquire about employment, since I'm looking for a change of pace. The first man was an older Caucasian gentleman, who could barely give the dignity of a smile. Last person I'd purchase a vehicle from. Brush it off, no biggie. Maybe he's having a bad day. I decided to walk across the way, and look at some of the 1500s. When I wrecked my Titan, I rented one and they're great trucks, I know the feel but I really wanted to see the specs, more information since the rental was simply my way of Point A to B, and a means of hauling beer and water for the C store I work at. Besides the point, it's good to know the inventory. Maybe a particular truck would have caught my eye. I was approached by a African American gentleman in his 50s to 60s while I went inside the (unlocked) truck and grabbed the window sticker off the dash. Instantaneously he managed to scare me off the edge of my pants, and was extremely rude. I advised him I wanted to see the specs on this truck, and found it odd that the truck next to it was a thousand cheaper since it only had the 4.3 V6 The way he *yelled* Can I help you without even approaching me feel like he caught me trying to pull stupid things or something. Um, no bud, I was looking at the window sticker. Relax, it was an unlocked truck. The weird part was as I was talking to the man, he kept walking backwards from me, almost to the sidewalk a car length away, as if I was threatening him. I don't see how I was. I was well dressed, in a very good mannerism. Sure I had my pocket knife on my clip, but good God, who doesn't carry one? anyone I know, they'll say I'm very easy going. To be honest, I felt deeply offended by that man, I felt like I was being treated like a second class citizen. Sure, I was more than willing to trade in a 2007 Titan with only 72k miles for a 2500 or 3500. After how I was treated by the African American salesman, I'll never step foot on this place again. I felt like I got 86'd unofficially for the simple act of asking if the manager was present and for opening the doors of 2 or 3 unlocked trucks to look at the window sticker that was left on the dash. I really hope this isn't a representation of him and the man working the front everyday. I truly hope, for customer service that it isn't how those 2 act every day. Stay far away. I see why a few smart Chevy drivers from Mariposa County went to Jamestown or Fresno 2 hours down Bagby or 41 sure beats driving only an hour to receive horrendous service Nevermind my silly thought on inquiring about employment, the heck with these guys. I won't even give the dignity of financing the difference on a used truck now. While I love Chevy, I'm not that brand loyal. I'll try Razarri or private party, see if I can find a used one there. I don't need anything fancy. Anything that drives, hauls what I need, has 4wd and a working radio for the country station is pretty much as picky as I get. This place tried to scam me .I was looking at the 2017 buick encore premium for 3 days on their website listed at 15893 . This listing was on multiple sites including carfax and their own official site. So I arrived to the dealership and got to the car , the car had STICKERS saying the price was 15893. All was good so we test drove the car and decided to buy the vehicle . I drove 2 hours one way just to get to this place because of the price on this vehicle which I had been researching for countless hours. We brought out own pre-approved financing through navy Federal credit union. This is a military branch bank that is accepted EVERYWHERE. They stated that they don't work with this bank and would try to find us a better interest rate. After doing paperwork and waiting for an hour the finance guy comes back and gives us our loan . Price is now 17490. That is a 1600 dollar markup. Also the loan raised our interest rate 3 percent worse and added 12 extra months. I pointed out the price and they all pretended like I was imagining it. I walked outside and they removed the price stickers from the vehicle while I was waiting inside ! Fortunately they printed a carfax out before the finance guy started scamming to prove the price was indeed 15893. Everyone there was obviously in on this bait and switch scam saying all these pathetic excuses and lies and trying to gaslight us into thinking we magically came up with the original number. went to get my 2006 chevy Tahoe service here for a radiator fluid drain and refill and they did not meet my expectations . Picked up my tahoe there was coolant on top of the battery. The coolant reservoir was over filled by alot smh. My oil sensor guage was working when I brought the vehicle in. When I picked it up the oil pressure gauge was at 80 at idle. I don't know if they were doing something to my tahoe to bring it back and get more money out of me . I went to this dealership because of good reviews but reviews dont mean that you're going to get great service as well I learned today not to base company thru they're reviews.
