This review is long overdue. I have owned my mercedes benz e55 for over a year. Some work I have done myself, some work has been done by various shops. I can't remember the first time I went to Mike's shop but i do remember that when I went to another mercedes shop that I won't name, I was thinking "I should have taken it to the expert" as they didn't even point me in the right direction of helping me fix my issue. charged me for a service and my car was still idling terribly. I drove to Mike's shop the next day and he immediately had two ideas of what it could be. i went home and narrowed it down and when Mike looked at it the next day he was exactly spot on, Fuel injector on cylinder 5 was bad causing a rough idle. One thing that is appreciated here is they will never shame you for not wanting to fix something or not being able to afford something. They tell you the price and if you can't make it work they do not make you feel guilty for it! Many Mercedes or BMW shops in my experience have made you feel like you shouldn't own the car if you can't pay what they say. They NEVER do that here and actually understand that cars can be expensive to maintain and genuinely appreciate your business. The final thing I will say is Mercedes Expert is meticulous and is always busy for a reason. They really take the time on your car to make sure things are running good, not to mention prices are reasonable for Mercedes work! When my Mercedes SL wouldn't go into gear last night I thought I might need a new transmission. I had the car towed to Mercedes Expert and Mike took one look at it on the hoist and said, "we'll have it fixed in one hour." He did, and it was running perfectly, with a small repair. Other repair shops may have taken advantage of me and tried to install a new transmission. I have an older model CLK 500 and was having transmission issues. The car has about 90k miles on it. With that being said I was worried I needed a new transmission. Had it towed to Dynamic Transmission in Deerfield who misdiagnosed the issue for $125 as I need a whole new transmission according to them. (I DIDN'T) Cost would have been north of $5000 not including labor. Avoid them at your own peril, unless you like to spend money you don't need to. Fortunately I am more knowledgeable than most about cars and found Mercedes Expert through their consistently great reviews. After a second real look I was happily surprised! Long story short I now have a local Mercedes shop that's honest and affordable. I needed a replacement valve body and it now runs like NEW! The owner Michael Brown dealt with me personally. It cost me about $1000 in total (with labor) as opposed to over $5000. They are honest, affordable and professional. Michael and his team are "real" Mercedes Experts. Two big thumbs up and I highly recommend them! How refreshing to see folks taking pride in their work and reputation. read more

Finally an honest mechanic!!! Without going into tons of detail with my issue, I was told by 2 mechanics that to fix my car was going to cost in the neighborhood of $3-4000!! All from an error code on a check engine light. I took it to Mike after having been given his name from someone else who couldn't speak any higher of him. I showed up and spoke with him, told him what the others had said and estimated....I waited for about 1/2 hour and he walked in to the waiting room with an extremely reasonable $175 bill!!! What every other mechanic had said ( including mercedes) was total BS....it was a bad magnet! He KNEW what he was doing...and he was HONEST. He gets to walk around all day with a happy smile because he does what he likes, and he likes to help others and make them happy. He certainly did it with me! Super professional and I can't give him enough stars! I will be posting this review to other sites so you may see it there too, and I multi-post very infrequently, but I"m just so happy with how I was treated I feel it's the best thing I can do for everyone! read more

Extremely disappointed with this shop - especially with Michael, the owner. I live in Miami and decided to bring my 500SL to this place, which is 50 miles away, based on a couple of good reviews I had read. Learning that the owner was German made sense for me to give it a try. My car is in very good condition but had some minor issues - steering wheel off-centered and shook a little at speed, a broken air vent, passenger seat memory not working, seat belt cover broken, light knob bulb not working when fog lights on. That was mainly it. So, I dropped the car and gave Michael my to-do list, and told him I was not hurried but wanted the job well done. I am very meticulous and love my car. I assumed it would take a week - 10 days at most. After not hearing from him for a week I decided to stop by the shop, just to find my car outside under the sun and dirty. They had not even started working on it. So, I reached to Michael asking for the progress made. He did not know, he just asked one of the employees - who in turn said they were waiting for some parts to arrive. I told Michael I wanted him to get involved in my car, rather than his employees... I already started to get disappointed, but at that point there was no way back. I asked for an estimate, he said it would be around $1500, which included alignment and balance, replacing the broken parts and labor. I ended up waiting for more than a month to get the car back just to find that most of the issues were not fixed. He told me the rims were bent, the tires were bad, the steering arms were wasted. All those needed to be replaced in order to get rid of the vibration and misalignment. Also he said some of the parts - like the air vent was impossible to get....really??? They said they fixed the seat memory, which they did not. The light knob bulb was not fixed either. And for the seat belt cover they used glue instead of replacing the broken part, but obviously that did not work... Michael said they would have to spend 2 hours to disassemble and fix it, which did not make sense for him... Really!!!! They had the car sitting for a month but they could not spend two hours to fix that simple thing...?? Moreover, Michael told me they use third parties for everything (they don't even know how to perform alignment and balance...). At that time I only wanted to get my car as it was and leave. To make the story short, I ended up paying $4,000. The car was filthy inside and out, it still shakes at above 60mph, the steering wheel is well off-centered, the air vent is still broken as it is the seat belt cover, and the seat position memory do not work. I cannot feel worse about it... I hope my bad experience will help others. Just avoid this place. They are everything but honest. May be you could stop by if you need an oil and filter change, but that's it. Don't go beyond that. read more
