Went through complete home renovation the middle of 2016. Everything went smoothly until the kitchen remodel part. Because we were up against a time deadline we choose Meridian Design Center and worked directly with the manager, Yossie. Going through Meridian Design Center, we purchased 4 jumbo quartz slabs and paid approximately $7,500 including fabrication. We were scheduled to finish the fabrication on a Saturday. We were not living at the house during the entire renovation and the property was locked. We called him on Friday and spoke to him directly to confirm his fabricator would be present Saturday morning. Saturday comes and we waited all morning and for approximately 3 hours. No one showed up or called us. After several attempts we finally reached Yossie. Forget an apology; he starts yelling at us for disturbing him on a Saturday and said the material is not ready for install. He had no recollection that we just spoke last night. If the material is not ready why wouldn't you notify the customers, instead you make them waste their entire morning and wait for over 3 hours! After fabrication was completed, we noticed 5 to 6 perfectly circular marks approximately 6 inches in diameter on the island. We immediately contacted Yossie the store manager. Again no apologies. All he said was contact the manufacturer. We sent him the pictures of the circles. He replied you can hardly see them. Yossie never came out to examine the issue himself. It doesn't matter if he can hardly see. The point is the slab is defective and not what we paid for! To this day we don't know who is at fault for this; however, we believe Yossie is to blame. We never saw the slabs. They were delivered directly to Meridian. Yossie should have examined them carefully before signing for them. If a slab was defectively, he should have rejected it. Yossie said someone from the quartz manufacturer would contact us about the issue. Weeks went by and one contact us. After speaking with virtually everyone from manufacture, we finally got a hold of the sales representative. After coming to the property and examining the defective slab; she agreed to replace it pay but we couldn't pick another fabricator. Although we really wanted the defective island slab replaced, we couldn't imagine dealing with Yossie or Meridain Design Center again; Yossie is an absolute nightmare. He is never apologetic or takes responsibility for anything. It seems like his first and only option is to blame someone else or the customer. We had no faith that the replacement process would go smoothly or that our brand new wood floors wouldn't be damaged in the process. Furthermore, we didn't want to reward him and line his pocket with more money since MSI would pay him to remove and install the new island slab. After doing more research on this business, I came to find out it has been sued twice in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about this until after this incident. If you are reading this review please learn from our mistake and stay away from Yossie and Meridian Design Center. Yossie's email exchange with us clearly shows he is extremely rude, unprofessional and insulting. read more

We received our wood flooring in a timely manner. The installer told our contractor that more end pieces were needed. I made the call and the material arrived within two business days. Melani called me with multiple updates to make sure I knew the order was received by the shipper and to confirm that I received the goods by the day she promised. With the knowledge that she could do it again when the installer was almost out of the flooring material, I made another call for a couple more boxes. Melani got me three boxes for the price of two considering the shipping fees. Melani's kindness, professionalism, and efficient service were better than any provider of materials involved in our remodel. read more

Sometimes online shopping has it's pitfalls and this was the case for my sink purchase. In short, I had attempted to purchase the same sink 3 times!!! Each time it was delivered something was wrong: it arrived broken, it arrived incorrect, etc. I was on a tight deadline with my contractors and if my sink didn't arrive by the end of the week they were onto other jobs. Meridian Design Center to the rescue. Melanie and the owner jumped into action after I shared my sob story! They called the manufacturer, directly as well as several of their vendors until...at last one vendor in their database had it! My contractors gave me until Monday morning before they were out of there and onto the next job and Meridian PAID OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS to get me my sink that Friday!!!! I don't know of many other companies that would do that. They over delivered and literally saved the day! I cannot thank them enough. Because of that service, we will be lifelong customers of theirs. Horrible customer service, men who work there are unprofessional, arrogant & extremely rude. Initially came here 2 yrs ago to buy bathroom appliances for remodel. Light we purchased hasn't worked properly for a few months, found out I needed new ballast, I went in to have them order one from manufacturer. Yosef (sp?) was rude, having a very bad attitude, asking me who manufacturer is, I said this is a light you sell here, do you know or maybe on purchase order? He replied "does Home Depot have purchase orders from two years ago? So was he comparing his business to Home Depot? I would think a boutique store would be run differently than Home Depot, especially in the customer service area. He then said he refused to help me & to leave his store. I purchased mosiac with this Meridian Design Center around Feb 2011 for a bathroom remodel. The tiles are actually beautiful; however, I would not recommend this company and will not use them ever again and here's why. The mosiac tiles I purchased were over ordered. Yes, the mosiac tiles were a special order subject to specific terms and conditions - which I FULLY UNDERSTAND. This is not the issue. On 3/25/11, my contractor called Nanette, the employee assisting us at Meridian Kitchen, to let her know we had extra mosiac tiles and to see if we could return them. Nanette said YES minus a 35% re-stocking fee and even made a call to the mosiac tile company to confirm. Based on this information, I drove to Meridian that Saturday 3/26/11 to return the tiles, but Nanette was not there. I spoke with Yossie who told me these tiles were not returnable and there was nothing he could do and that Nanette would contact me the following Monday to handle this. By Tuesday 4/5/11, I had not heard a word from Nanette or Meridian so I sent her an email. I still didn't hear anything, so I called the store the next day only to be told she was not in. I asked for the email of the manager of the store and re-sent the email that I'd previously sent to Nanette copying the store manager. At 9PM that evening, I received a call from Yossie who told me that Nanette has been out of the office, which is why she had not responded to me. I had no way of knowing this because there was no "out of the office" auto responder set up for her informing me of such. During the call, I explained the issue to Yossie just as I did above and also explained that I did not want to post on Yelp, BBB, etc and that I would enlist the services of these 3rd parties if a resolution was not reached by working with him directly. This was not a threat, simply a transparent statement of fact putting all of my cards on the table. Yossie was not really receptive. He just kept referring to the contract and stated that if I'd posted on Yelp, he would just send them the contract I signed and that they would remove my review. I know there is a contract, but I signed the contract in Feb 2011. Nanette stated on 3/25/11 that the mosiac was returnable; therefore this no longer is a contract issue, and is now an employee issue. The company is responsible for their employees and for their training. On 4/6/11 during our phone call, I requested $100 credit as a gesture of good faith for my time that I took to load the heavy tiles into my car, drive over there, gas (over $4/gal). I would have never went over there or never even thought about returning the extra mosiac tiles if Nanette hadn't stated it were possible. Yossie stated he could not provide any credit. Update 4/8/11: Yossie called me again on 4/7/11, and asked me to provide the resolution I sought in an email to him, which he already knew was a $100 credit for all of the trouble they caused me. He responded that he could give me a $100 coupon for the future. I responded the next day 4/8/11, that I did not accept this resolution. Then Yossie became combative, threatening and harassing when I did not accept his resolution asking again for a credit. It makes me sad to see that this is how they treat someone that spent $5,000 with them. I am a very transparent person and is why I'm pasting Yossie's email below to me because if you have any issue and try to address it with this company, note that this is the type of response you might receive below. "jen i am sorry to say we dont want to deal with people of your character and believe me we will not give you any credits at all for trying to black mail against negative reviews. I was in touch with yelp and they are investigating your account i have already submitted all legal documents to them. Any further derogatory remark or defimation of character towards meridian design center in any means shall bring you severe damages and legal actions; so govern yourself accordingly and consult with legal counsel before you let any more fingers of yours do any more false reports,allegation or bashings. You just seem like the person who is looking for free bees and leaching off businesses." In my response to his email: 1. Telling a company you are going to post a review is not blackmail - it's just stating the facts. Further, you can not tell any individual they will face legal action for posting their experience with your company. 2. "Any further derogatory remark or defimation of character towards meridian design center in any means shall bring you severe damages and legal actions" - there is not 1 derogatory remark or defimation that I put online. All is factual information and Yossie should point out specifics before he goes to this level. 3. Yossie states "You just seem like the person who is looking for free bees and leaching off businesses." - If I wanted free bees, why would I have spent $5,000 of my money on tiles with them? read more

I drove 40 minutes across Los Angeles in rush hour traffic to look at Meridian's wood floor samples. When i got there, the place looked like it had some cool stuff...except...no one paid any attention to me. While browsing among the wood floor samples, my focus was continuously disrupted by the salesman on the phone yelling "F@#K that! F@#K this! F@#k them! That's not our problem! You measured wrong"! -(sounded like a job they were doing that was not going so well) :-/ I found a few floor samples I liked, carried them to where the salesman was sitting & I stood in front of him....for a while. (I felt like a dog being ignored by his owner). After a while i just gave up & left. As i walked out of the showroom, the guy yells..."NEED ANY HELP"?? (lol) read more

I am doing a bathroom remodel and purchased all my materials from Meridian. Their selection is great, their prices are great, and the employees are friendly. They carry almost every brand you can think of. (Compare this to Ferguson's or Snyder Diamond that only carry a few select brands and so you can only pick from those.) Their prices were competitive with everywhere else I looked (including Home Depot and Amazon). Yossi is very knowledgeable about various products and options. He spent some time going through their various product catalogs with me and giving me some ideas. I then spent a bunch of time at home by myself looking through websites to find exactly what I want. (Note that Meridian's website helpfully links to all of the brands they carry, making it easy for me to research on my own.) I ordered it all, they gave me great prices, and then I came in to pick some of it up. I was looking for cabinet hardware and figured this place would be pricey but I stopped in anyway because it was convenient from work. I live in the San Fernando Valley but work in the westside and in my mind, the westside stores had to be more expensive. I had already done prior searching and had an idea which pulls I wanted. I had already gone to Nina's Kitchen & Bath, which is close in proximity to Meridian Design Center and I wasn't impressed with their customer service. At Meridian, Zeid helped me out and he quoted me a price that was below what I had received from stores in the San Fernando Valley and from Nina's Kitchen & Bath. I was pretty shocked. I later did some math and figured out that he quoted me a price 30% below the price on the manufacturer's site, while the other stores were quoting 20 to 25 percent below. He also didn't charge me for any shipping costs. I ordered the cabinet pulls and they arrived faster than he said they would. I got an email notifying me the order had come in. I had a great experience, that a few weeks later when I was ready to pick out some knobs, I knew I would be heading back to Zeid and Meridian Design. I also had three cabinets in another room that required a different pull. I was torn between two options and Zeid took a drill to his display and removed them from the display and let me take them both home. When I came back, I told him neither one worked, and instead I picked a pull from another manufacturer. He told me this company would let you order $5 samples and because I only needed 3 that I was better off 3 samples from the manufacturer. That was great honesty and customer service, sacrificing what would be a small additional sale to save the customer money. Overall, I had a great experience with Zeid and Meridian Design. I'll be coming back when I'm ready to remodel my bathroom! read more
