It was located right next to security. They had a small line and I smelled coffee. They had water, fruit and sandwiches. The pastries were scarce so they heated up the croissant which was great!

Before catching my flight back to Atlanta, I had to squeeze in one last local find: Merit Coffee in the San Antonio International Airport Terminal A (near Gate 7). Merit is a San Antonio staple, opening its first cafe in 2009 in Alamo Heights (originally as Local Coffee) and later expanding to Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Emphasizing a quality cup of coffee with a neighborhood cafe feel and service (#goodenergy), Merit sources their beans directly from farmers in Central/South America and Africa and locally roasts them. If you're ever passing through SAT, head to Merit Coffee--it will definitely be a bright spot in your travels!

Cinnamon roll and a large drip coffee.

Grabbed a cinnamon roll and a regular coffee while waiting for our plane. The cinnamon roll was very good and not super sweet, and quite big. I didn't really love my coffee, it had a bit of an aftertaste but that is a personal preference and no reflection on Merit. The location is just past security so super convenient, and has a nice counter and storefront/shop feel in the middle of the airport. The staff is friendly and service was quick.

    Matcha

First-time visit and unfortunately a very disappointing experience. We ordered a small matcha and a vanilla latte, and the total came out to $19?! which felt excessive, especially with additional charges like $0.82 for vanilla syrup and an upcharge for oat milk. For that price, I expected much better quality. The drinks themselves were underwhelming. The matcha was noticeably grainy and poorly mixed, and the vanilla latte had little to no flavor despite the added syrup. Service made things worse. When we asked questions about the menu, the staff came across as condescending rather than helpful. We were told there was no cold foam available, but then offered something called a "purple haze." When we asked what that was, we were met with attitude....only to later find out it's essentially a type of cold foam. That lack of clarity and tone was frustrating. I also asked about a military discount, which felt like a reasonable question given this is San Antonio. The response was dismissive and added to the overall negative impression. Between the pricing, poor drink quality, and unfriendly service, this was not a great first experience. I wouldn't return and would recommend others consider alternative coffee spots nearby. Should've went to Starbucks

The place serves quick I really like how the coffee board shows what is what and how to know what to order while one waits in line. The place is clean and nice The house coffee i ordered wasn't as tasty, a bit bland for me. It was a quick grab so maybe the house coffee wasn't as fresh.

Grabbed a quick drink and snack before my flight. As soon as I stepped in the barista greeted me with a big smile which was really nice. I asked him for a snack recommendation and he said to get the jalapeño kolache, I really liked it. To drink I got a strawberry matcha which was good.

Right upon finishing up at security, go right up to the barista and order yourself your own wake up beverage (tea, latte, cold brew, etc). I got a chai tea latte and it was prepared within minutes and was tasteful. Surprised they played a Ghost song in the place; thats intense rock music.

If I had a connecting flight, I'd wait to get my coffee at my next stop. A good indicator of how good your cold brew will be is the color and both times they've been practically white. I'm not familiar with the other drinks, but I got a vanilla cream cold brew twice. Both times the cream to cold brew ration have been off. I'm really hoping my next flight is in the other terminal, I need good coffee fuel before I begin my adventures.

As airport coffee shops go its conveniently located right when you walk into the terminal and the espresso hit the spot. The service at the counter was great with friendly attitude and patience. The price are what they are for an airport shop so you can't fault them for that.

They don't have decaf and they gave me simple syrup when I asked for sugar free sweetener. Luckily I hadn't had any sugar for the day and was able to drink it. The line was too long to wait for them to remake it. Staff at register was friendly but it was a zoo in there. Americano was just OK and not worth the $6 price

    Chips. Plus the ahoy lol

I would like to say everyone that works there is super nice and always welcoming and greeting you as you first walk in. They are open Monday-Friday from 7:00 am - 2:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. They always have freshly squeezed orange juice, and their biscuits are always made from scratch. I would like to give a shout out to the workers for keeping their cool and being so polite even on a busy weekend. Our food was delicious hot and very well prepared. My kids go crazy for the sweet grace waffles. Please be patient with the servers and cooks they really do put a lot of hard work to getting everyone's food out. The coffee bar is amazing ! And everything on the menu looks so good! The vibe here is so cozy and inviting the ambiance is great. I really do enjoy coming here with my kids to have a brunch date. And when I have a girls day I recommend trying their mimosa pitchers ! They have 3 different types of mimosas classic, sunrise, and berry fields Shout out to Mariah the general manager , Regan and Tori the best service I've ever had thank you for such an awesome experience. I definitely will be coming back.
