I came here for brunch with friends on a warm day. The dining area was spacious; however uncomfortable during the warm day. The staff were cordial which made the heat bearable. The food came out wonderfully prepared and delicious. I would come here again, just not on a super warm day.

My wife and I reserved a table for lunch here to celebrate our Anniversary. The host got us seated right away to a nice view of the vineyard. Our friendly server took our drink order and brought us a couple of glasses of wine while we looked at food menu. I ordered the Steak sandwich , which was super tender roast beef on a soft toasted roll. The cheddar cheese made the sandwich! The Cabernet Sauvignon paired well with it! My wife enjoyed the Chicken and Strawberry Salad paired with Rosé of Sangiovese. Service was excellent, the view was fantastic!

Delicious spot for lunch in Temecula. You must check it out. The food was so delicious. The service is wonderful, they let you know what wine goes with your order. The views of the vineyards while you're eating are amazing. Meritage is a must if you are in Temecula Wine Country

My family had made brunch reservations here before we began our own Wine Tour. We were satisfied, but nothing food wise was reallg extraordinary here. I think their best asset is location. Located at the Callaway Winery, Meritage is serving some stunning views of the vineyard. Callaway itself is a beautiful winery, some Meritage is benefitting off of that. The restaurant itself is very clean and classy. It kind of gives a greenhouse, garden escape vibe which was actually really nice. They are dog friendly as well too. Staff was very friendly. Host greeted us with a smile. What stood out to me was how helpful and accomodating they were to my handicapped 90 year old grandma. There was some stairs to get to our table. The staff put her wheelchair in a safe place and even offered his arm to help guide her down the stairs, I was impressed. Food was decent, but not outstanding. It was average tasting brunch food that got the job done. I had the salmon lox, and I'm on the mission to find the best one, and this was not it. My sister in law had it too and we both agreed that it was lacking in the cream cheese, the best part, and we both had to ask for more. My dad said his sandwich was kind of dry ans boring like it was missing more, and the fries were disappointing. Best part was the creme brulee, but that could still use some work too. Meritage's strong point is the atmosphere and views. If you are looking for a nice atmosphere to eat on your wine tour, then this is a good spot. But don't count on it ti have outstanding food. Other wineries restaurants offer better food, vut Meritage is up with the views and vibes.

Lovely experience on a Friday night! The hostess was sweet, the waiter friendly and attentive. All the food was VERY tasty. My husband and I shared the 3-course Friday night special and everything was substantial!

It's been years since I ate at Callaway's Meritage restaurant. Gorgeous views, beautiful property overall. The restaurant is covered patio seating with large windows that give a great vineyard view facing west. We were there on a Tuesday, which was a low crowd day and perfect weather! Service was excellent! Margarita pizza was yummy! We used our SIP Temecula passes to grab a glass of wine from the tasting room before heading over to the restaurant, finished that glass and ordered another glass at the restaurant! I chose a white wine, so I can't offer any comment on whether their reds have improved from when we last tasted here years ago. White was good (probably a viognier, I can't remember). They don't have air conditioning, so be aware if planning to dine on one of Temecula's blistering hot summer days. They do have heaters, though I could not tell you how well they work to keep you warm on our sometimes cool winter weather. We chose the perfect day to have lunch here and it was very nice!

Enjoyed a beautiful day today at Callwaway and became members. Enjoyed a beautiful view upstairs for sunset and finished off for dinner at the restaurant. We ordered almost everything on the menu and honestly my 5 stars is mainly for Sam! Although we had our own server, Sam continuously checked on us and helped us pair our dinner with the best wine. We kept asking for suggestions and he was on point with his recommendations and took the time to share about each wine. He was funny, wit, friendly and provided top tier customer service. We left full and very happy and relaxed. As parents of a big family, it was so nice to be able to get out of the house and enjoy a night out and we have Sam to thank, for treating the place like his own and giving all the customers in the restaurant his undivided attention. Thank you Sam

Super friendly staff. Hummus plate was tasty. The atmosphere is amazing, simply because it's such a beautiful vineyard & winery. I was there for a wedding and the ceremony, food, drinks were all outstanding.

I actually really enjoyed this restaurant at the Callaway Winery. The service was friendly and nice. We made reservations and got seated promptly and had a nice view of the vineyard. We were here for brunch and they have a decent menu. Surprisingly they had Ceviche here and it was really good. Not simple and had a good mix of seafood. The Steak and Eggs weren't mind blowing, but cooked well and made it rare as what we requested. Really come here for the wine and views though. Overall, would come back!

Absolutely amazing! The food was excellent and our waitress Ashley was over the moon amazing! And the view was ridiculously beautiful!

On the wine front, Gata absolutely delivers. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, and it's the kind of place where one glass quickly turns into two because there are simply too many interesting options to pass up. Unfortunately, the food didn't come close to matching either the quality of the wine program or the price point. We ordered the deviled eggs, which turned out to be hard-boiled eggs sliced in half with a piece of ham placed on top. When you order deviled eggs, you generally expect, well... the eggs to actually be deviled. We mentioned our disappointment to the bartender, who was wonderful, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. The explanation was that this is simply their interpretation of deviled eggs. Fair enough, but it wasn't an interpretation that worked for us. Ironically, the standout dish of the evening was the pigs in blankets, which is not a sentence I ever expected to write about an upscale wine bar. They were delicious, but they also raised the question of why the rest of the menu wasn't reaching the same level. Looking back, we realized we were the only people actually eating while everyone else was there for the wine. In hindsight, that should have been the clue. I only wish someone had mentioned that before we made the trip over expecting a tapas experience. Gata has so much potential. The atmosphere is lovely, the wine selection is excellent, and the staff were fantastic. If the small plates eventually rise to the level of the wine program, this place could be truly special. Until then, I'd absolutely recommend it for drinks, but probably not for dinner.

Did they change fish? Tasted the same basically. Still amazing as always. We also tried some new dishes: Beef Tartare Chicken Thigh Skewers Green Curry Mussels The Beef Tartare was just okay. It's the only dish I probably would not ever order again. It wasn't bad, but compared to every other banger on the menu, it's last. Something has to be last. The Chicken Thigh Skewers were AMAZING! OMG, so much flavor in the chicken but the sauce really drove it overboard. Wow. These are a must try, you won't regret it. And lastly, the Green Curry Mussels blew us away. I love mussels and always order it whenever I see it on a menu. We devoured all of the mussels (and added the $9 Roti) and even got a container to-go to save the broth, lol. Truly another banger from Dija Mara. I really appreciate that the menu changes periodically without removing the veteran dishes we continue to enjoy. Just want to mention something besides the culinary spectacles. Dija Mara's decor is every bit as memorable as its food. The artwork isn't an afterthought--it's part of the experience. The dining room manages to feel both trendy and intimate at the same time, while the graffiti-covered back wall adds a playful, street-art feel that contrasts beautifully with the polished food and cocktails. The result is a space that feels creative, unpretentious, and genuinely cool. The industrial concrete and reclaimed wood elements give it a modern edge, while the Indonesian-inspired art creates a sense of place that feels completely unique in North County. This is really our happy place and I hope it never changes.

The restaurant was fairly empty although Resy wouldn't take reservations. Plenty of bar seating. The service was fair, not particularly warm or engaging, which was fine. The food was alluring and beautiful, but the flavors were salty, flat, and mushy. Starting with the Paloma, it was nothing special. Just something you could get with a well happy hour special. Serviceable but unremarkable. Very Instagrammable, however. The pork belly was nicely charred and had nice bite sized morsels on the skewer, good texture, but the sauce was very salty, almost bitter. Forced myself to eat the 2nd skewer, but could not push through the last 2. In contradistinction, the beef rendang was almost bland, like a microwaveable peanut butter Hormel beef stew, and the cardinal sin - the rice underneath was mushy. That was what sealed the nail on the coffin. Bland, albeit tender short rib, on top of smushy rice. Dead. I barely ate one of the 2 pieces of ribs and couldn't do more. The staff wanted to see if I wanted a take out container. When you see a customer that disengaged with the food, you'd better be wary. Being Asian, I don't like to waste food, but when it's so not good, I'd rather walk away and get something else than to finish a terrible meal. Many diners have a millennia of choices in this price point. Sadly, not sure how this restaurant got recognition because it's half as delicious as your typical neighborhood Thai restaurant. Banana Leaf at the Original farmers market in LA is better, though humble and homely. Just very disappointing. Hope it was an off night and that others have a better experience.
