Latest Update: 7.13.26 The last few times, I've missed Hinna, my GoTo Assigned Specialist, & have been helped by Mia, a very qualified & knowledgeable Meriwest Floater. Today, neither Hinna, who was working with Jonathan, Branch Mgr, nor Mia was available, and I was lucky to find Cecilia available to help me. As I've written before, Cecilia is a very capable professional representative. She promptly took care of my Account Transfer request & my latest Qty 2 Check Deposits in a very efficient manner while maintaining a high Customer Service approach that was very easy to deal with in a very productive way. This interaction with Cecilia went so smoothly compared to other agencies I have visited last week & today, Monday, that once again I was amazed, impressed, & appreciative of the caliber of the staff that Meriwest maintains at this Sunnyvale branch. I continue to recommend Meriwest highly and would venture to suggest that any interactions with Cecilia, Mia, or Hinna would go smoothly. Update July 14th. I don't usually write reviews, but Cecilia has now helped me out of two major banking problems, and I feel she deserves to be recognized. The first time, I came in to make a deposit after a mistake made by another employee. Somehow, the transaction had been handled incorrectly, but Cecilia took the initiative to call me herself and made sure everything was corrected. Then, just a few days ago, my account was incorrectly charged nearly $8,000 because the paperwork hadn't been properly reviewed. I spent days trying to get help without success. Today, I happened to walk into the branch for something completely unrelated, and Cecilia was the one assisting me. I simply mentioned what had happened, and without hesitation she immediately took ownership of the situation. She investigated the issue, found the problem, and completely resolved it. Cecilia has consistently gone above and beyond what I would expect from anyone in customer service. She is knowledgeable, proactive, compassionate, and genuinely cares about helping people. It's incredibly reassuring to know there's someone at the bank who treats customers as people instead of just account numbers. At this point, Cecilia has officially become my full-time guardian angel. Thank you for saving me from another incredibly stressful situation. Honestly, from day 1 of being a member of Meriwest Sunnyvale, I've been treated so warmly by the staff. Meriwest has helped this young, first-time business owner promote their business through their Meet Your Neighbor program (shout out to Anna Truong Lopez) and we've been able to integrate into the Sunnyvale community through them. Because we deal with cash, we need to be accurate. Mia is always diligent with counting bills and ensuring that the right amount is tendered. Cecelia is one of the first employees I've interfaced with at Meriwest and there's never been an issue that she couldn't solve. Last but not least, Jonathan has gone above and beyond to try and develop a financial literacy program for my staff. Some of the people who work here are very rude and condescending. Once, I finished a transaction and then waited for the teller to say something like, "You're all good," to let me know I could leave. Instead she made a face like I had gravely insulted her and said "What? There's your check!" I have witnessed her rudeness in the past not only to myself but other bank patrons as well. My last experience at this location was OK. The concern was that when the branch was supposed to be opened at 10, the employee unlocked the door and said give us a few minutes. We had an expectation for her to come out. Instead, we all waited outside looking like fools. Opened the door and tellers were at the ready while she was sitting in her office! The teller was efficient and nice, but frankly I am tired of the constant soliciting of my "complementary wealth advisor" meeting pitches. Received calls, mailings and now pushy tellers. Hinna is my personal fave, but all the people at my branch are awesome. (Even those I've encountered on the service line) I don't get out much, I work nights so sometimes I'm like a run on sentence . I'm a pretty forward individual & can be a bit much for some. It's nice that I've never been made to feel awkward about that here. Plus...even my silliest concerns are put to rest.
