Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in the Tustin Marketplace. My mom needed some blush and lipstick, and I did not want to take her to a busy place like Ulta Beauty or Macy's. She has dementia and gets confused easily, and the chaos of those places tends to make her upset. I decided to take my mom to a new place called Merle Norman Cosmetics in the Tustin Marketplace. I called in advance to see if we could get a person to help my mom. When we got there it was a quiet, relaxing and calming place. They sat my mom in a chair, and they tried all sorts of blushes on her. She picked out her favorite. She was so happy. Then they had her tried several lipsticks, and we got two of them that looked great on my mom. Then they asked if my mom wanted her face completely done just for fun. My mom was overjoyed. Then they sat me in another makeup artist chair next to my mom and gave me a complete makeover. We had such a wonderful time. The people there are fantastic and so nice. They work with you on getting the right color for your palate. I just can't say enough about our experience. Thank you, Merle Norman, for such a wonderful experience. We were looking for a place to get my girls ears pierced. We walked into this location with no appointment. We were greeted immediately by the makeup artist and was pointed towards Stephanie, the resident ear piercer. Stephanie was friendly, professional, and took time to measure my girls earlobes for perfect placement. She discussed the whole process from start to finish. The piercing was fast and easy. She showed us after care instructions. The whole thing took about 30 mins. When we checked out she gave us some free samples of face stuff and lip gloss. It was an awesome experience! I will ease you into this post but I would not recommend this business for ear piercing. We made an appointment for my young daughter to have her ears pierced. Since she is old enough to know pain, we requested two technicians so that the piercings could be done at once. The day of the appointment there was only one employee available and she gave me the run around of something came up and the other technician needed to step out. No one had called me to inform me that 2 people I've requested would not be available and there was no apology. Just simply, "you can come back in 45min if you want". I did not appreciate that Merle Norman did not respect my time. The piercings were done without a fuss but the technician was very short. She wasn't enthusiastic about answering any of our questions despite there not being a single other person in the store. I noticed that one of the ear backings was very snug and at an angle but I didn't make a big deal since the employee was being dismissive. When I got home I realized the backing to the earring was very firm and could not be moved. Fast forward a few weeks and I noticed my daughter's ears were swollen and infected. I examined the back of her ear to find that because the earrings were so snug the back of her ear was infected and growing over the backing. We had to go to urgent care to have a doctor numb and remove the earring and correctly reset it. My daughter is now a bit traumatized from the pain and experience of going to the doctor for a piercing. Lesson learned - always make a your concerns known even if someone else is being dismissive. Have the technician adjust earrings if they appear to be too snug as young children's ears are still growing and changing. I don't feel that the technicians at this locations are very knowledgeable or caring. Despite doing a lot of research on places (other than Claire's) I would recommend you go to a pediatricians office or a piercing specialist. read more

Merle Norman is seriously the best place in Orange County to get your babies ears pierced. I have taken both of my children there at 4 months old, and they did such a great job both times. If anyone is worried about their sanitization process for anything they are using, everything was fresh out of a new package. The ladies both wore masks and gloves while piercing. #CovidReview One of the best parts about going to MN is that they have two ladies to pierce so that it is over fast for your baby. They put a dot where they are going to pierce and verify it with you. If you aren't happy, you can ask them to move it. But I have always trusted them. I had been very hesitant to get my baby girl's ears pierced, but I finally decided to do my research on a place that would pierce an 11m old's ears. After calling a few places near Irvine I finally found Merle Norman (via Yelp) and am so thankful I did. I of course was super nervous (hate seeing my kids in pain) but the two Merle employees, Stephanie and Melinda were working the evening of my daughter's appointment and were just wonderful. Stephanie was patient, informative and just so smitten with my baby girl. That made me feel a lot more at ease and before I knew it, my daughter's ears were pierced. She cried for a minute or two and then was fine. Why I think her piercing appointment went so well is because both Melinda and Stephanie pierced her ears at the exact same time which I find so ingenious! I'm writing this review the day after my daughter's piercing appointment and happy to report she slept fine through the night and hasn't fussed about her piercings whatsoever. Sanaz has been getting my eyebrows sone and she's very patient, meticulous and kind. She does exactly what a clients ask for and my skin never get irritated. She's been using wax to shape my eyebrows and that also helps me with not needing to go back every week or even every two weeks to clean them. It saves me lots of time in my busy life schedule. We love the fact that we were given the option to have both ears of our nine month old pierced at the exact same time. Steph and Nancy took the time to make sure the markings for the piercings were symmetrical. Our daughter who usually cries when a stranger tries to interact with her, surprisingly didn't cry during that process. She only cried for a little bit after she was pierced. I actually have been faithful to Sephora for many years, but after my wonderful experience I think I am going to start coming here. I was in there earlier today and was overall impressed. I originally went in to get my eyebrows threaded, since they advertise that on yelp, but I guess the lady who normally does threading was not in, and so I got my eyebrows waxed instead. She did a wonderful job on them, and the one thing I did notice was that she was totally sanitary about the waxing and used new sticks every time. Total Plus. She then offered me a free mini-facial, which was totally wonderful and then did a full face of makeup on me, with totally no pressure to buy. I did buy three things I did not intend on getting, but needed in the long run anyway. The total was around $100, which is pretty expensive, but I was overall happy about my visit. I did also make an appointment for a full facial in a few weeks as well, so I will be returning to Merle Norman. read more
