Merlins was pretty good. It definitely wasn't bad. By all means, I'm not a pizza snob, but I do know that this wasn't the best pizza I've ever had. Not even top 10. But for Destin, FL, I'd say it was pretty good. We especially liked the cheese sticks (have to have the garlic butter with it!). We also got the pepperoni explosion pizza, which I thought would have a lot of pepperoni... not the case. But still good! Tried to eat here with my family of 5 at around 3:45pm on 4/22. There was only 1 table that would seat 5 and it was full of dirty dishes and extremely messy. I politely asked the male worker if he could first clean off the table so we could sit down. His reply was "can't you see how busy I am?". He treated us as intruders, so we decided to leave and go where our money was welcomed. It's inexcusable to treat paying customers this way. read more

Best pizza I've ever had hands down. The pizza sauce is amazing! I gave Merlin's a shot after hearing from a coworker how great it was. As soon as we arrived the parking lot had customers waiting in their lawn chairs in the parking lot for to go orders. The wife and I split a large thin crust, she got the Greek and I got the pepperoni explosion. Both were perfect. Past experiences with other pizza places the veggies usually come out soggy, not the case here. The place is small and we were lucky to get a to get a table quickly with the amount customers they had. Highly recommend, and I definitely will be visiting again soon. There's a theme that I'm reading about this place and it is if you order a pizza forget that she'll tell you it will be 25 minutes. I'm still standing here and it's been over an hour. I thought I was going to be late and arrive to a cold pizza when in fact I've had to stand here waiting and waiting and waiting for an order I placed almost 50 minutes ago. Eating out while on vacation can be really hit or miss. We drove 15 miles to a pizza shop that ended up being closed for the night. So came back into Destin and tried Merlin's. Local non-chain pizza place. Covid. If you're under 55 and healthy, you have a greater chance of dying in your car on the way there than catching and then dying from Covid in the food store. But Merlin's has half the seats blocked off and wore masks. So if you're participating in the Covid ritual, then this place will placate you. Food. We dined in. 2 pizzas 2 salads and an order of wings. Local 30A blond ale with free coozie. Nice touch. We got the deep dish. Came out so hot you had to wait to eat it. Wings were great. Pizza crust was excellent. Toppings a plenty. I had nothing to complain about. Total bill for family of 4 including two beers was $51. Nice job guys. read more

I do not give 5 stars lightly. This place has the best pizza! We had a big group of all different ages so we bought different pizzas. According to YELP they are known for the pepperoni pub pizza so we tried it. The kids didn't care for it, but I sure did. It's sounds kinda gross but it works. It's just a pepperoni pizza w beer cheese drizzled. So yum! We then bought the pepperoni explosion- just a really great pepperoni pizza. Buffalo chicken pizza - we got this cause it sounded interesting. Again, the kids didn't love it but it was amazing. 7 cheese pizza - no words, not too much cheese - it was a perfect cheese pizza. BBQ chicken pizza - I didn't try this one bc I don't like bbq on pizza. Everyone else in our family loved it and it was the first pizza gone. Cons-we has to pick up bc they don't deliver to ft Walton beach. Cons - we ordered through the yelp app, it said it would take an hr but it's wrong. We only chose Merlin's because of the nearness to the condo we rented and the fact that they delivered. What an incredible discovery. The food was phenomenal and despite the fact that it was dinner hour during spring break, our food arrived in 20 minutes piping hot. We had the Pollo Bella Pizza thin crust and the Bloomin' Meatball. WOW i try to indulge in as much seafood as possible while I'm in Destin. In the future Merlin's is always going to be included. read more
