Only been here once for coffee and pie. I had a latte and a slice of key lime pie. Both were delicious! They have a massive cafe menu- baked goods, specialty coffee, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. Looking forward to coming back a few more times to try more. So many things can be improved. Service is the most important thing for me. If the food is great and the service sucks I won't be back. Standing in line for 15 min. finally get to the counter and the young man either couldn't hear us or just wrote out the order wrong. My friend and I waited 45 min. for our food and almost everything was wrong. I didn't get my croissant, she didn't get her eggs OR country ham. We didn't want to wait any longer so we skipped her eggs and the side of country ham (we had to ask 3 times) was ridiculously small. Not sure if it's just the kids serving don't care about customer service or are not properly trained. My brother owns 7 restaurants in NYC and his staff is impeccable. The food was adequate and the bakery was heavenly, sadly I won't return and would not recommend this place. read more

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. There pastries are great just ask them to warm them up for you. Quiche of the day is always good but the serving size is a small slice and if you have any appetite at all you will need to order something to accompany your quiche. read more

They were SLAMMED when we went in. No tables to be had for a while. It was the perfect recipe for a harried staff to turn sour on the out-of-towners. But no. They were superlatively friendly and seemingly happy to help. One guy even thanked us for being nice. And the food! Wife and son had a Philly cheesesteak, and I had a salmon spinach salad. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich because a lot of people seemed to like it, but I have to say I was pretty disappointed. It was almost soupy (mayo to chicken/veggies ratio way too high) and not satisfying at all. I had the curried chicken salad so it had grapes (which I like) but instead of the halved grapes that most places used this had whole grapes, one of which was totally over ripe. I do have to say that the Viking bread was amazingly soft, especially for a multi-grain. Only issue was a couple of the grains were very hard--ended up having to spit them out instead of eating them. The cinnamon roll latte was good, if a bit overly sweet (but that's probably in accord with the name). Big plus was the guy that took my order, Jonathan. Their menu had so many options it was difficult to order, but he was patient and friendly as he explained the menu and options. read more

Family was in from out of town so we decided to treat them to an afternoon in downtown Franklin and lunch at Merridee's. I have had pastries from the restaurant but had never been to eat at the restaurant myself. It was a very enjoyable tasty treat! It has a tremendous southern charm with an upscale menu selection. Between us we tried several options and none of us were disappointed with our meals! They were delicious and portions were generous. We made room for dessert choosing three different slices of their homemade pies to share and again we were very pleased with our selections and enjoyed every last bite!! read more

Great experience for breakfast! We ordered an omelette, biscuits and gravy, pastries, fruit, coffee and a London fog tea. The pastries were amazing! The omelette was tasty with thick pieces of bacon in it. My wife loved the tea and it was her favorite of the meal. The biscuits were a little bland for our taste but everything else was great. My absolute favorite - the tuna melt and spinach salad!!! Merridee's feels like a restaurant stuck in a different time period, for all the right reasons. Old school feel with a cool ambiance and the ever present locals. Merridee's used to be a reliable restaurant when my parents visit the Nashville area. But they've clearly gone downhill. They got our order wrong, which resulted in being overcharged. The tuna sandwich was tasteless. My dad had previously ordered the tuna sandwich every time we visited and it was always great. When we talked to the manager, he reluctantly apologized and only replaced the sandwich with another tasteless one. He made the excuse that they were busy in the kitchen although the restaurant had very few people (it was 2:30 pm). We won't be back and can't recommend it to others. read more

The best French toast around. Get there early because it's a busy, busy place. So many options and good choices. The bakery has cherry turnovers that my husband loves! Also, try the oatmeal bread to take home a loaf. So soft and fresh. Wonderful place to eat and enjoy the downtown streets with free parking garage right across the street. While shopping downtown I stopped for a treat and a mocha to go. The sticky bun was awesome. The mocha was lukewarm, at best, so I brought it back and they graciously made me another. Really enjoyed the house coffee because it was on the bolder side. Just how I like it and I would go back daily if we lived close! The only problem I had was that I ordered a to-go cup and they used the cheap lids. It popped off during the walk around the city and I had to get my thermos mug out of my car. I came here for a quick bite to eat, or well dessert. I had a slice of the peach pie, honestly one of the best slices of peach pie I have ever had in general, and the best I had while in the area. Fresh ingredients crispy crust, I had to stop myself from getting seconds and thirds. If you aren't in to our they have a huge selection of bakery items, one iof which is likely to tickle your fancy. Let me start by saying I've had very good food in the past here. This is about the food preparation. Our table of four sat by the glass window looking into the kitchen. Not one person we saw had a net, a scarf or a hat covering their hair. We watched the pastry girl work the dough with her bare hands and at one point she and another worker practiced their high kicks trying to catch their shod feet in those same bare hands that went back to working the pastry. One employee was slamming a box of frozen apples on the floor and then put the same box on the countertop where the pastry was being worked on. I don't think any of us will be going back. read more

These guys were alway known for their baked goods. Now you can include comfort food as a reason to visit, especially now that the weather is turning cooler. Their soups are made from scratch and are incredible. They have also added "savory plates" to the menu. I had the pot roast and it was just totally insane. I never, ever dreamed pot roast could be that good. Just wow. Comfort food with a capital "C!". Highly recommend. You can't go wrong stopping by for dinner one evening. Trust me. read more

WOW, What happened to Merridee's. The service is real slow now, the menu is off the chalk board and how is a hand out, even in this time of COVID. You have to get your own food from counter. No one to bring it out. They just pile it on counter and hope you notice it. Table are not cleaned. The food is just ok at best now. Got a club sandwich and the bread was as hard as a rock. The staff acts as if you are luck if they wait on you. Real sad!!!! Once was a great place to eat. We drive an hour from our home to eat here. read more

So........ if you're not a local it might take a second to get your bearings. You wait in a line and look at the chalk board and try and figure out what to order because everything sounds good. The staff is helpful but they are all very young. After you order you find a table to sit at. We had a party of 9 and found a couple of tables close to each other.
