Tried Mesa Pizza for the 1st time the other night and our pizza was super yummy! We got the White Chicken pizza, pizzas with white sauce are always my favorite, and it was one of the best I've ever had! White sauces on pizza can have a tendency to be overly rich, but this one was just right. Will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Well, little did I know that Mesa Pizza is the sister store to my favorite place in Solvang (an independent Giavonni's, unrelated to any of the SB Giavonni's), using the same recipes and providing the same friendly service I am use to.... and I can walk there! This was my boyfriend and I's first time ever trying this place and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and the service was GREAT! We will definitely be returning! After reading the reviews, I was disappointed. The pizza was meh (and soggy), and the chicken parm sandwich was gross (the chicken was cut into little cubes). HOWEVER, the homemade ranch dressing was unbelievable! I would get take out of just the Ranch dressing next time then go to Paesano's on the West side downtown! Sooooo good! We're working our way through the SB area restaurants using our Axxess card. I was craving pizza and convinced my boy to drive from Ellwood to the Mesa to try this place. Probably the best pizza from a pizza place I've had in SB (ie Giovanni's and Rusty's can't compare)! I'm a stickler for hot food so we were reluctant to drive all the way back to Ellwood before opening the box and trying a slice. The pizza was still hot 15 minutes later! The toppings were great and there was a fair amount of them. The crust, however, was my favorite part! So good, almost crunchy and definitely sturdy enough to hold up to all the toppings on the Mesa Special. Yum! We'll be back for pizza and to try the other menu items. read more

Seriously, in my 41 years, Mesa Pizza Co. has just landed in the Top 3 all-time best pizza I've ever had, and might just be the very best. Ordered two side salads with ranch dressing, plus the Tomato, Basil, Garlic pizza (and added pepperoni to half, and sausage to the other half). Salads were large, fresh, loaded with cheese...and that ranch dressing, you HAVE TO try their homemade ranch dressing! My wife and our friend both said the ranch dressing at Mesa Pizza Co is tops. The pizza came out large, and was smellin' and lookin' really good. It tasted even better. Fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients, and some of the best "crispy on the outside, soft on the inside" crust that I'm always looking for. Shop is small (in a strip mall), but clean, and the customer service was great. There are a few tables inside for maybe 15 folks or so. Did I mention this was some of the best pizza I've ever had? Probably good that we don't live in Santa Barbara, or I would have a big problem on my hands. But looking forward to our next visit... read more

Hidden treasure. I went here with the intent of getting a couple of slices on my way home, but they were sold out when I got there. The guy at the counter (Vishay?? I'm terrible with names, I hope that's somewhat close), convinced me that the extra 7-minute wait would be worth it, and he was right. The personal pizza I created was perfectly crafted, cooked to perfection, and the ingredients were fresh. It even tasted good 3 hours later when I finished it. WOW!! I am so glad I searched for a great pizza place before driving out to Santa Barbara. I went to Mesa pizza for lunch on a Saturday with my parents and two kids. My kiids are very picky eaters mind you. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza for my son and a slice of cheese pizza for my daughter. They both loved it! I ordered the tomato basil garlic pizza for my parents and I, OMG it was so good!!! My parents and I haven't had better pizza than this. I've been looking for a pizza that's as good as the one we had at Mesa Pizza with no luck. I'll just have to drive 2 hours again for the tomato basil garlic pizza. We are visiting from Sacramento, and we almost walked into some other pizza place on lower State Street. What stopped us was that there were exactly zero customers inside. Uh...at 8:00 on a Friday night, this is a bad sign. So, i yelped "pizza" to see what the best place in town was. It turns out that Mesa Pizza had great reviews. Problem solved. Ten minutes later, we pulled up. The owner was working the cash register and he was amazing. He talked with us about his house made dressings and sauces, and he brought out our breadsticks with a complimentary ranch dressing while we waited for our pizza to cook. The pizza was wonderful, old school pizza like you would have eaten after a little league baseball game when you were eight years old. Also, his house made ranch dressing is the best ranch my wife and I have ever tried. Oh, and don't forget to order the breadsticks. Amazing!
